I’ve thought of the lore for this: Gem, the protector of the cherry village has been captured during the update by pillagers. They knew that they couldn’t cage her though, so they hid her. Far away from the cherry village leaving the cherry village, without a protector. Meanwhile, Gem finds another village to protect. Gem must challenge the pillagers to a raid of the new village before they raid her cherry village. If the pillagers win then her life will be lost, but if she prevails then the pillagers will give her the location of her cherry village and she’ll be able to go home. But at the end if everything goes well, she’ll have two homes.
You can just build a greenhouse. Water sources won't freeze with any block (with a collision box) over them, even glass. Water sources will ONLY freeze if they are directly exposed to the sky. (For example, a chain will prevent freezing, but vines won't.)
@@mabelmabel8112 Yes, they extend the growing season by trapping heat and sheltering from wind, and can be used all-year round with heating and lighting, used a lot in England to grow mostly tasteless mass-market tomatoes :/ I just wish Minecraft had a few diagonal slope blocks - slope glass pane (for greenhouse), slope tiles, slope concrete, slope wood, slope slate. @@agent90z waterlogged slabs are always my go to for farms, even in warm biomes. As you mentioned, they prevent falling in the hole, and they are great for placing a light source. I usually opt for a lantern, since torches break too easily when you are harvesting.

The relaxing aspect is what I like also. So many minecraft videos are about doing things super fast. 11:05 The physical position of these villagers gossiping suggests that blocks within your base have been labeled as part of the village due to proximity. I really needed this. TW for grief and death of a pet My dog, Romeo, needed a friend. We got a golden doodle rescue, Percy, this past Sunday. He was the sweetest boy, he'd cuddle with you for hours and love to watch tv and youtube videos. He wasn't eating, though, and we got concerned. We took him to the vet on Tuesday. They found he had an obstructed small intestine, likely from eating something while with his foster family. We took him to the best emergency vet in our area that night where he had surgery. We visited him yesterday, Wednesday, and the vet was pleased with his progress. Early this morning, Thursday, Percy went into cardiac arrest suddenly. The vet did everything they could, but it was simply his time. They called us crying, because he was the sweetest dog they'd ever met. I've felt devastated ever since. Your videos have cheered me up at all times in my life. They have brought me comfort when I'm sad, and made me even more happy when life is good. Percy also watched one of your videos with me, and I think he liked it. So thank you. Thank you for comforting me now. Thank you for giving my doodlebug some fun in the few days he had a home.
You had a seriously rough week to say the least. please take it easy on yourself, you sound like you're a great pet parent 🥲 sad things happen to good people and that's pretty shit. I feel so sad for your loss♥ and I hope when you gave all this a safe spot where it can be at peace in your heart, you will not be discouraged on your pet parent journey.
Water sources only need a torch or "sky blocker block" if the water source has "Sky Access". So you don't need a torch per say but rather a top slab in the water block (waterlogged slab or stair) or simply a block above the water source is all that's needed. So when underground you can totally ignore all of this UNLESS it has direct sky access.
In your underground garden, extend a line of redstone under the trap doors from the lever, this way when you flip the switch to release the water, the doors should flip up and keep all the drops inside to flow down to the hoppers.
I just love that you are planning on connecting the villages. I think it would be so cool if you continued doing this in the world, so you'll eventually have a home in each different biome. Cuz NGL, it would be so neat to tour a world with connected towns with their own vibes.
I am in love with these videos, although i only found @GeminiTay a couple days ago its nice to watch her video as i find them very chill and super relaxing to watch

I am from the USA but have family from Newfoundland and have never met or heard anyone talk about the province so that fact made me so happy! :)
You can stop water from being frozen by putting a block above it at any distance. Your farmland doesn't need to be underground. Not to mention if you water log the water with a half slab or stair
I adore the silly secret entrance, it serves no purpose but to be a cute detail in the build. Way more entertaining than just having a door there.

I’m sorry for your loss, I’m sure Percy was a very happy doggo while you had him ❤
@@LocalBatteryThief Thank you ❤
You had a seriously rough week to say the least. please take it easy on yourself, you sound like you're a great pet parent 🥲 sad things happen to good people and that's pretty shit. I feel so sad for your loss♥ and I hope when you gave all this a safe spot where it can be at peace in your heart, you will not be discouraged on your pet parent journey.
@@capedkat thank you so much ❤we did everything we could for him, and I'd do it again
Gems videos are always so calming❤
Water sources only need a torch or "sky blocker block" if the water source has "Sky Access". So you don't need a torch per say but rather a top slab in the water block (waterlogged slab or stair) or simply a block above the water source is all that's needed. So when underground you can totally ignore all of this UNLESS it has direct sky access.
There are so many good tips in the comment section today 😀 This is a great community to read
I love living in and revamping villages. It’s always so fun
I’m loving the hardcore series. So much fun.
I’m loving the cozy, slow-paced gameplay of this series, it’s definitely one of my favorites you’ve done so far!
I love your hardcore series sm
Keep it going Gem, I love watching your videos
Yay, new episode. And it was fun all around.
Gem gives wintery names to her dogs Olaf and Jack as in "Jack Frost"
while my brain says that Jack (Titanic) was also cold ngl...
I’m thinking of Jack Frost from the The Rise of the Guardians movie
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thought that 😭
2 mil?!?!?! I'm so proud!!! It's crazy how far you've come in the last few years!❤❤
In your underground garden, extend a line of redstone under the trap doors from the lever, this way when you flip the switch to release the water, the doors should flip up and keep all the drops inside to flow down to the hoppers.
You always manage to rekindle my love of this game after an absence. Thank you for being awesome like that.
I'm also playing in a winter biome, and as long as you slab the water source, it won't freeze outside! Inside, you're good to go without a torch! :D
Or cover it. Water blocks need direct sky above them to freeze.
Therefore the ones underground will never freeze.
I just love that you are planning on connecting the villages. I think it would be so cool if you continued doing this in the world, so you'll eventually have a home in each different biome. Cuz NGL, it would be so neat to tour a world with connected towns with their own vibes.
Villagers: "We look away for 5 minutes.... and now theres a wall... hmmmmmm...."
..."Why did we never think of that?"
Gem always has the best lets plays !!
I love gem and her hardcore sm
I love the vibes this new series has, it will b perfect watching it in the future , while I'm gonna have a break on Christmas
I am in love with these videos, although i only found @GeminiTay a couple days ago its nice to watch her video as i find them very chill and super relaxing to watch
Wake up guys, episode 2 of hardcore series is already posted!💜
I find it fascinating you chose a snowy theme at the start of summer but honestly I'm here for it. Loving the continuation of the series so far! 😊
I have been watching quite a few of your videos lately, and somehow I only now just saw your channel description that said you were from Newfoundland Canada and my heart soared! I am from the USA but have family from Newfoundland and have never met or heard anyone talk about the province so that fact made me so happy! :)
As much as I love this I've been spoiled by Hermitcraft and find myself wanting conversations and interactions with other people lol
I couldn't watch this when it came out! But holiday event is over so now I get to watch Gemini Tay be cozy in a hardcore world!🎉
You can stop water from being frozen by putting a block above it at any distance. Your farmland doesn't need to be underground. Not to mention if you water log the water with a half slab or stair
12:20 gem's is fulfilling his childhood memories 🥹 how adorable 🥹🫶🏼
Snow golems on the walls as turrets would look awesome. Loving the idea of this series and the content in general
I love the way that when gem said that the cows were gone magically she was holding raw beef in her hand😅
I enjoy my morning coffee with some relaxing gem in hc, such cozy vibes, love it.
I just started my summer break and this is gonne be the best playthrough to watch
I love a cozy single player world ❤️😌
i love how easy going you are in your lets plays
