The lift up the back feature would be great for festivals. People have had their tents opened and searched through by thieves when they're not around. This way it's easy to see there's nothing in there so the tent doesn't get slashed open etc. I've had robbers in my tent before but I never leave anything of value in it.
Thanks for showing how you open the foot end of tent. This is a game changer for me! We have the 4 person version of this tent, for the slight increase in pack size the extra inside space is worth it but on summer we get hot and on cold nights we get a lot of condensation. This is a wonderful tip. My big tip is that you can leave the ground where attached when packing the tent and this makes life much easier. My partner is not in love with the single door to the sleeping space of the tent as it makes loo trips without waking one another harder. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for your kind message. Yes the rear opening is great. I had to quickly run through the video to remind myself. As I've also discovered a trick for opening the front for loading and unloading bedding easier which is at the end of my Easter Garden Camp video. ruclips.net/video/mpOjn3myAqU/видео.html Like you say and I totally agree about leaving the footprint attached. Though usually mine is covered in mud and gets washed and dried separately. I really must attach it again after but always forget haha. Have a lovely day
Great video and great review. Have been scouring RUclips for a winter tent. Looking at everything. From a banshee 200 to terra nova southern cross 2 and everything in between, and beyond. So sorry to hear about your dog. So sad. They are such a huge part of a family, and always pleased to see you. Even more so if you have treats 😊 best wishes. P.S. Gareth & Zoe use this tent a lot and love it too
Thank you for your kind words. Yeah loosing Buster was the most painful thing Ive ever been through. With him in his final moments....... The Opalus is a great tent especially if you are like me and take everything including the kitchen sink. And yes I did see it on Gareth and Zoe's RUclips channel. They compared the two and three person versions which is what decided it for me to buy one. The Banshee 200 is okaaay. But I always struggle with that with leg room. My feet are pressed against the bottom whilst my head rubs on the top and Im only 5ft 9in
Hi Just wondering about the width of the tent. I see it says 190cms but is that the same from top to bottom or does it taper down towards the one end like a lot of other tunnel tent? A 3 person tent which actually fits 3 people would be wonderful! I need one which is about 190cms at both ends but not sure if this exists?! Thanks for the video and sorry to hear about your dog.
Thank you Ian for your kind words. No you are right. The pain of loosing Buster has been horrendous. I don't have children so he was my boy and whilst no new dog could replace him. I have the love and capacity to adopt another dog. More videos coming soon
Great question and whilst I read your question yesterday I had to really give it some thought before replying. The answer is sadly no. I say this as there is no way to tie the front up and out of the way. Using the guide ropes as front support. Maybe there is a way to do this with some sort of hack. But realistically I'd have to answer no
@@ItsaCampingThing thank was thinking simple clothes pegs might work .. but for sure it a feature i really want in a tent but i seen heliport pro tent offered that but cost 4 times the price of your tent ..
I’m 5ft 10” tall and could just sit on my Trekologogy yizi go camping chair with maybe an inch to spare if I sat in the middle of the tent where it’s highest
to get the two man for wild camps with my Girl friend and dog, or three man 🤔 800 grams in it from my research. Sorry to hear about your dog too always a hard time, how old was your dog and breed?
I generally like to go a little bigger as a place to store clothes, food etc...Nothing worse than a one person tent and having to leave your gear outside. Just my take on it as I know some people prefer to go ultra light weight and that's okay too. I guess with the larger tent and two people going you can always spread the weight. Aww Thank you. Yeah it was a very difficult time and we were in a zombie state of mind for a few days after. Just total shock. He was an English show Cocker Spaniel and had only just turned 9 years old.
Hey mate, great review. Forgive me if you mentioned this and i missed it... What is the length of the poles when folded? And would you fit a bike packing bike in the vestibule? Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately mine is stored in the loft at the moment. However I do know that when I pack mine away. I roll the tent around the poles. The poles are fractionally shorter than the stuff sack it comes in. Thats how I know it will fit in the stuff sack as I pack it away. I had a quick look at Amazon and the stuff sack is 60cm. So the poles should be around 58cm-60cm when folded. As for a bike in the vestibule. Ive not tried it myself as I no longer have a bike. However I believe that Gareth and Zoe on their channel have put a bike in the vestibule. So might be worth checking out their channel. I hope that helps
@@ItsaCampingThing Hi there. First, I'm saddened to hear about the loss of your dog. That is very tough to deal with. As for camping in the winter, you can by #1) putting a portable small, safe propane heater in there with proper ventilation and taking a little carbon monoxide meter along too & #2) turning the Opalus 3 into a hot tent like YTuber "Lonewolf 902" did. He used the Pomoly T1 Titanium mini stove. He also, in separate video(s) shows step-by-step instructions on how cut a hole into the tent and affix a proper stove jack. Takes a bit of work and sewing machine knowledge...but it can be done. I hope this helps. Take care and thank you for a great video about this tent. You taught me something I didn't know!! :)

All mesh equals draft
That is correct which is why I wouldn't use it as a four season tent
@@ItsaCampingThing I've ordered one.
@@etztz123 Nice one!. I hope you enjoy it
@@ItsaCampingThing Cheers. Great review btw one of the reasons I bought it but I got the 2 person variant.
