Aww bless , I am as well, its note to be ashamed of 😁🤔 don't know if that should of be 2 f's see I don't care though 🤘 We all learn differently, I'm a hands on kind of guy I don't learn otherwise, I get letters in words mixed up all the time I have to use Google it's my best friend 🥺 so that's my advice for anyone who struggles you really don't have to struggle no more and help is out there 👍or so that's why it takes me forever to comment Google this and that word I'm lucky my phone likes spelling it's good to be proud of yourself no matter what or so love yourself peeps 😊❤❤❤
😮😮considering the job you do. Might be an interesting topic for a side video - what does a newly diagnosed kid need in place to be able to qualify for an information/written comms heavy profession. And to what extent does mental agility/intelligence help.

Providing you can see the stars. Too many nights there is heavy cloud cover and it chucks it with rain in the UK at some point or the whole night and the next day ..............
Refreshing to see reviews where lessons have been learned the hard way - prompting the thought process. You see so many ultra-small tents being used, and I always look at them and think “Mmmmm……… I wouldn’t want to have to get out of wet rain-gear in that!” You’ve thought out the tent-choice and routines - well.

Totally agree Ali, I see loads of small tents and think, where do you have a coffee in the morning when it's bouncing down? Climbing in to them in soaking gear wetting you sleeping bag etc, no thanks, I'll stick with my Biker Plus.

Excellent idea to have the extra room and bike out of sight. I have a Wingman on the road Toucan tent which is the opposite of this- basically just to sit up in and sleep but it’s so robust and everything is in one package and suits my needs. Each to their own! Keep up the good work missy 👍🇬🇧
Saffy hammering a tent pole is the cutest thing I've ever seen 😀 So delicate yet steady and effective.
I also chose a mototent. Same style as yours. I bought it for the same reasons you did. Of course it’s a bit heavier than most, but I think worth it’s weight. I also went with 2 nice sized goose down blankets to go on my full-sized air mattress. It’s nice to be comfortable because as im older the bod really benefits from 1 day of riding then 2 days of r&r. Love it. Now with that planning, means you need more supplies, food & water. It’s been tough deciding what has to stay at home to save weight. It’s all a compromise. Great vid - new watcher. If you want a super fast erect tent look at the slumit range, the frame is pre-built into the tent and you pull it out the bag, click it into place and its up. 20 secs max. Great for bad weather.
Hello! 😁 Well, once again you have hit the nail firmly on the head! 👍👍Anything camping related that requires complicated written instructions to assemble/operate has failed at the first hurdle. The instructions are the first thing to blow away in the dark/ rain/high/winds etc! As a man who almost NEVER reads instructions, I welcome any product where the manufacturer has actually come up with a system for assembly that can be done in the field without a sidekick reading a "How to list!"

I'd LOVE one of these! Thx for the review. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm dyslexic. 👍🏽 It can be really frustrating but I kinda taught myself workarounds for learning/understanding from when I was a kid.

This makes sense. When living out of saddle bags, it's nice to access them without getting rained on.
That's a really good summary of your tent! Vango also made a series of motorcycle tents which are virtually the same design as the LoneRider Tent, the Vango Stelvio, the Vango Turini and the Vango Tour 200, I own the Tour which I bought new for £150 on a sale. As far as can tell, none are available new now, but regularly turn up on Ebay or Marketplace and are substantially cheaper to buy. The Stelvio and Turini had sensible muted colours, the Tour is a garish bright blue. The Vangos all appear to be the same size and my Tour swallows up my 3 box Triumph Sprint. Once closed up, there is nothing that shouts out 'motorbike tent'. The differences between the tents is that Vango dumbed down the specs, the Stelvio has the best specs and weighed 6.6kg and the Tour the worst which weighs a whopping 9.3kg, of which the fiberglass poles on the Tour are the main culprits, all have a full size ground sheet for the garage area which can be left behind to save weight. So a trade off really, the Vango Tents are much cheaper but all are heavier than the LoneRider, substantially so for the Tour. I also park my tent on the pillion seat as I travel alone normally.
Great video - I just returned from a tour in Scotland and your videos motivate me to do more touring. Quick tip regarding putting your tent away- with the tent laid out evenly, fold it in half, then use the tent poles (+pegs too if you want) to roll it up (so they will be in the middle). A friend showed me this and I haven't had to fight to put away a tent since. Best wishes

You are starting to be a real inspiration to me , I’ve been riding 15yrs now . I’ve been to Scotland on a bike but I’d never do it on my own ……to do what your doing inspires me ( oh and I’ve done the highlands back to the midlands in one day ……painful 😩😩and I’ve got a BMW GS 🤣🤣) . I had a cheaper version of your tent and did the Isle of Man TT with it twice . My mates took the p**s because of its size …..but when they squeezed into a 2 man tent on there knees then who’s laughing 😂. Sadly mine broke ( like I say a cheap version) but have been looking to replace it with a lone rider one ……after this I’m convinced . Keep doing what your doing ( clumsy bits as well 😉😂🤣😂) and keep inspiring . See you out on the road

I did look seriously at this tent, but was too expensive for me, and would take too look, and would be a nightmare in the rain .... so I got the Slummit Gobi 3 😁
Its awesome, does lack head room but I was happy with that compromise, takes me 10 mijs to put it up its just so easy
I has a friend who bought their LoneRider on a 0% card, then paid it off monthly instead of booking hotel rooms for trips. After 4 months, it was paid off which I thought was quite a clever idea. I suppose it only works if you're travelling already though and spending £££ in hotel's , if you're looking to start with little budget it's a not really going to be too helpful
Loved this review, thinking about getting this tent for next year when I do the Nc500 again. May I suggest the oxford RoK Straps for holding your gear down 😁😁

This explains your propensity to lose your way frequently happens and why you have multi stops to reconfigure your route, loved the video and this may encourage more camping bikers. P/s having camped at home and abroad since the early sixty'stents are always noisy when there is wind,xx
I bought nordkap tent at Louis Moto same idea and works well,got a wide ( most are narrow ) camp bed too that 4-6” inch off the ground makes a lot of difference to me. Same width as he tent when packed and both are not any wider than the bars, folding high back seat is a great piece of luxury when chilling folds down to nowt.whole lot was just over £200 🤷♂️bargain👦🏻🏍👍good vid saf👍

Hi, great video thanks. I've been debating between one of these, an ADV from Lone Rider or a Wingman of the Road Toucan. I just wanted to ask, I know the zips are securable when you're in it to stop people outside getting in, but is the tent 'lockable' from the outside if you're wanting to leave it for a bit. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Looks like a good product, but it is HUGE. I use a backpacking tent (2.1 kg) and carry a 3m by 3m nylon tarp (350 g.) that can cover the bike, make a windbreak, a waterproof roof over a dining area, or an emergency shelter. With 30m of paracord I can do miracles with a tarp.
Just what I do.
I upgraded bikes to a Africa twin , week off to do the nc500 but operation stopped play , dug out my old tent I bought for my duke of Edinburgh scheme in my 20’s , now in my fifty’s but it’s still waterproof but what liked was tent, sleeping bag , inflatable mat , trangia , tripod chair , coffee pot all fitted in the top box , maybe next year now
Very interesting observation about the biking community having a fairly large percentage of dyslexic/learning difficulties. I had never noticed that.
I love the idea of a tent with a bike garage. My biking tent is so different from yours it is unreal. It is tiny, and weighs less than one kilo. But my situation is very different from yours. I am male, and live in the south of Spain. I try to avoid using it if there is any sign of rain. However, I am considering getting a slightly bigger tent that maybe weighs 2 kilos. Mine is hard to erect, and difficult to get in and out of. (And I am not getting any younger, an OAP).
I am impressed that such a new rider has done so much touring in such a little time. Well done. Can I recommend Spain as a destination for you? Los Picos de Europa in the north of Spain are only an hour or so from Santander ferry port. And the coast is lovely. Motorcycling paradise.
Good job explaining how simple to setup. I wonder about a hot bike on a hot day. I live in Texas and heat is a primary concern. I usually don’t want to be near my bike as it can take a good while for it to cool down. I’m sure in the UK where it’s cool that might be less of an issue.
Nice one Saffy, another good vid. I understand your thinking on the tent. I was told as a ten year old that I was profoundly dyslexic.If your lucky, like I was and got an understanding education, it won't hold you back. I went on to get a degree in engineering and now own my own engineering company. I was bullied and told that I was thick as a kid. Dyslexia to me means that you think slightly out of the box and in some jobs that can be a benefit. If I see you at the ABR I'll say Hi .
The spatial-visual skills of dyslexics are immense. We're very much idea kind of people! This is why I love visual-based products

It's just important to recognise that often sports attracts a lot of people who didn't do well in school and wanted a place where they wouldn't be judged, and usually it's the case, especially with the older generation that learning difficulties were never picked up due to ignorance back in the day

I've been looking at this tent and I love all the features. I have one problem though. As a single female rider, I'm not real comfortable advertising "Lone Rider" on the side of it.
If they made it more discrete I know I'd be happier.
Hey Kitty, Lone Rider is just the brand name and it is a 2 person tent, but if it does worry you, in my experience, take a can of hair spray, set the tent up, and hair spray the logo, then wipe it off clean with a damp cloth then spray the area with waterproof tent spray again

@@kittywampusIm a biker with over 30 years of motorbike camping under my belt, I have a better 2 man bike tent, that cost £150 new from a Dutch company, It is the same as the lone rider tent without the logo in silver, and 13rd of the price, I'm trying to find a link for you, don't wast your money on the lone rider. But remember this , Breathing in the fumes from your motorbike all night is not good for you.

I have the same Lone Rider Tent it is absolutely brilliant, the porch is perfect for loading all your kit onto your bike in the rain.
I love the fact it is possible to stand up in the tent and all the little storage pockets dotted around the tent to keep small items while you are in camp.
It's strange all the people worrying about the "Lone Rider" logo, if their are any strange people in the campsite it wouldn't matter what tent you have it wouldn't take long to work out if a person is with company or alone 🤔

Most logos can be removed with hairspray or rubbing alcohol too. I think this tent is 100% case of you don't know what you're missing until you own it

I was wandering about the tent its quite large to take on a bike. I have done a lot of touring on a push bike and preferred a tarp with a tiny tent it gave me the weather protection, plus the added bonus of being able to see around, as a bloke that felt more secure. Looking into taking the cbt for trips around the UK at a bit more speed than on a push bike, just dreaming between full time work and study atm.
I think the point you made about putting the tent together with people with LD could also apply if you're tired. When I'm tired my brain becomes frazzled so it's a handy point. It would be a bit big for me 125 lol.

Thanks for the review. You said how you don’t want to park your bright pink bike outside as you’re a single rider and camper….. but the side of the tent in huge writing says that you’re a ‘lone rider’.
I love the idea of this tent but I don’t think I wouldn’t want it purely for the reason that it broadcasts that you’re on your own, even if your bikes not visible.
Should make a female version that says 6ft2 18 stone lone male big ugly biker tent the creeps would keep out of that.
I have this tent and use it a number of times. Every time I apprecaite the extra space provided for changing cloth, sitting under a shelter for all sorts of weather. I find it a lot more difficult to set it up in high wind conditions where a second pair of hands would be absolutely great help but its "doable" in 30 min... Once everything pegged down I experience zero issue at all. The down side is the fact that its not free standing so I am considering its ADV tent siblings in addition, however I am not sure if I really could trade the garage space for free standing feature...

It's my first time too! It's not usually something I talk about :-) I always feel a little bit of a fraud telling people I'm dyslexic because I did so well in school
I've tried camping on a number of occasions for what ever reason I just don't get on with it!!!

Well they say there's two things in life you should never skimp on when it comes to spending-good shoes and a good bed, seeing as how you'll be spending most of your life in either 😂
I think investing in a decent camping mat can go a long way though, but sometimes it can't be helped if the ground is uneven and a bit rubbish. There's definitely an art to slumming it in mother nature 😃

For packing up the tent, I would highly recommend packing the poles away and then using them to roll the tent, it saves you trying to stuff them into the bag last.
I tried that but then my tent was too chunky, I just stuff it all in and hope for the best now 🤣🤣🤣

Great video. One of the better ones - I've watched about 5 on this tent - but none of the show how easy/hard it is to put the bike in as the whole point of this tent is to put the bike in it. Now, if you put the bike in so it will lean away from the sleeping compartment and not fall on top of you in the night, how easy is it to maneuver the bike into the bike area? I'd only buy one of these tents in order to put my bike into it so it's kind of the most important bit for me. Again, great video

It's a nice tent I've read a few comments about the logo and I think that's probably valuable feedback for the company it wouldn't hurt for them to make it smaller perhaps put a small one at the bottom of the door.

I admire the fact you like to camp on a bike and those that do but I absolutely hate it 🤣
As long as there are bunkhouses/bnb’s/Airbnb’s/hotels in this world I’ll never camp again on a bike, done it a few times but hated it. Hated carrying all the extra junk (tents sleeping bags cooking equipment food etc)
But the worst thing is being in the middle of a field in the thumping rain trying to pack up a tent with nowhere to leave my helmet without it letting in water…lol
Two soft waterproof panniers with my clothes and a bank card and I’m set!
I have to be in a certain mood for it thats for sure and I 100% would not camp when the weather is rubbish I'd much rather stay in a warm dry hotel

I agree. My bike is a better ride too, and it goes on for longer...and it doesn't threaten me with divorce when I want to ride a different bike....and it's way cheaper to run, and it doesn't have a mother-in-law I have to pretend to like...

It's not, but I was spending a lot on hotels before so it worked out as a really good deal for me
I never understood why they have poles. Surely we could get rid of those and have it with an airframe. Lighter, and having a small little air compressor to not only put the tent up with minimal effort but also to blow tyres up whilst touring would surely be a better mechanism. The tent could even have more air frame parts so it's more sturdy and just needs to be anchored to the ground (which it needs to have done anyway). Always thought they missed a trick with that.

Aha yes! I'm dyslexic and have auditory processing issues :) It's the number one reason I often name words incorrectly or rather strangely :D
Interesting and enjoyable take on things, thanks. The moto tent is tall and doesn't look very aerodynamic. How well does it cope with high winds?
It was quite loud in the wind but overall I didn't notice much difference

I don't camp anymore, it's hotels for me now. Worn out five tents over the years and other camping gear. But I still use bungy cords and this for fifty years, never had any problems with those. I never used side or top cases always a tank bag and a carry bag on the back. The only way to travel with a bike.

I have a DJI Mavic Mini, I bought mine second hand on Facebook marketplace for £200! I try to only use budget equipment because I'm so clumsy!
Are there any black pegs for the black 2 poles?
The tour 200 tent is lighter and cheaper I've used one for 6 years. My Scotland tour saw yellow 2 warning and non stop rain and it was OK.
You just use any pegs :) it doesn't make a difference!

I use the Coleman coastline 3 plus, exactly the same size and layout of the loan rider but a fifth of the cost and half the packed up size 😎 and yea my bike fits inside 👍

It's similar to the Redberz atacama temt in shape & function but the loan rider is slightly shorter

As someone who hates instructions and don't have the attention span to read and follow them, that tent looks the best for that 😂
I am thinking about getting into Moto-camping. Though for the start, I would only visit camping sites. (So no need to park the bike in the tent) Do you think that the extra height and communal space of the tent compared to others is still worth the price? 500+€ is a steep price for a tent.
I am currently torn between "I dont want to spend a thousand euros on my whole equipment for something I only want to try out. I would not know how much of that money I could get back if I sell that stuff" and "If I like camping, there is the old rule of 'Buy cheap, buy twice'"

It's hard to say! I can understand why a lot of people dislike it, but I've always just looked at it and thought it's the tent's brand name. I would have never of looked at this tent and assumed there is only person inside because it's just so big

"Aircraft-grade aluminium" has become a major pet-peeve for me. I blame the degwee, but whatever. Basically, the aeronautical industry has found use for just about *every single grade of aluminium* in existence. In fact, the aero industry's needs are the reason half those grades exist. From the softest to the toughest.
In short, *all* aluminium is "aircraft-grade" aluminium.

I like this tent but can't see it surviving an half decent storm, my Vango Omega 350 suffered some damage to one set of it's poles, still bent out of shape to this day but still usable. It's a fairly large tent for motorcycle use, I don't like tents that you have to crawl into.
All those little useability features you describe on the tent bag.. yes they are ground breaking! 😀 I mean wouldn't it suck if any were not there?
