As several of these were exclusive to that retailer they should not be allowed to hike up the prices like that. $30 for a variant cover that was exclusive to them is just out and out robbery.
Variant covers are going to end up being the death of comic books at this rate. If the publishers spent more time on producing more quality books and less on cash grab cheap variants series would not be getting cancelled all the time. Imagine if those people who bought the variant cover of whatever book it is, went out and bought a copy of a lower selling title, then maybe some great under appreciated series would have a chance of survival.

great video thanks for doing it and ive seen so many people do these specific mystery boxes and most have been duds either way enjoyed watching it. Dont forget to subtract the 13% ebay fees they charge for selling on ebay 125 so really 109$ not worth it. Just subbed as well from one fellow youtuber to another love supporting content creators.
Ebay fees are the sellers fees they have to pay to ebay. It has nothing to do with the value of an item.
@@Franchise-TV well you have to think of it that way because if you're the seller on Ebay you sell something for 100$ you dont receive 100$ so if effects your total ROI vs say a youtube, FB instagram sale for example you would receive the total 100$ due to no fees. If you're constantly selling and buying you have to think of it that way. Torpedo comics sells direct to consumer so they get full retail for those boxes regardless.

Ebay is very unreliable when it comes to comic prices. A comic might have sold for 19.99 but the shipping and handling usually makes up the difference or more on the comics value. Iv seen some comics for 5 bucks but the S&H was 24.99. Basically never rely on ebay for secondary market values.
Money changing hands is the true value. NOT what a random comic shop prices it at.
@@Franchise-TV you couldn't be more wrong, and youre poser status proves it. When you bought it the last ebay purchase was for 1700. The last current sold is for 1680. Fair market value is 1800. Reputable dealers have it at 1850. Money changing hands isn't what sets value because morons like you overspend because you became a fanboy overnight. People like you and other ebay comic fanboys inflate the value bexause you have no idea about comics.

You're putting money in and hoping to get more than you put in out of it (in value at least).
I'd rather just take that $100 and buy a nice key issue I want or a CGC slabbed book directly off eBay for that price.
