Tommy Scott I guess I recall the summer in my teen years and this game inspired me, it still does but I was fucked before I ever played the game. So it’s really the person not the media. Like I was fantasizing about doing shit like jacket since I was in grade school. Now that I’m an adult I don’t as much but idk I don’t see anything wrong with killing people who deserve it

leo_os I know this comment is kind of old, but even stuff like this takes an amount of money, not a huge amount, but it’s obviously an expensive camera, the car costed something too even if not bought for this ad, and the bat seems authentic. Not to mention they also had to pay actors for this, and rent out time to use that elevator.

The symbolism of the mask in this trailer is neat. The protagonist wears the mask whilst killing as a way of rejecting accountability for the murders but leaves it behind when he saves the girl. Essentially, he wants to be the hero without having to accept his sadism

This trailer would have been perfect if the car was a delorean and the guy was wearing the signature baseball jacket. Otherwise really nice. Awesome game.

When the Hotline DLC was announced, I readied my powerdrill and shotgun, thinking Overkill would rape the name and I'd have to whoop some ass. And by whoop ass, I mean drill into their fuckin' eye sockets and blow their fucking stomachs opened with my shotty.But, they handled the situation pretty well, so I didn't murder everyone there. I don't respect them anylonger though as the DLC has become EA esque.
Edit: No, they raped it. The Jacket character pack is stupid and now I feel disgusting whenever I play it. Oh, and wrong number does NOT hold up.

For 3 days I would stay awake playing Hotline Miami, sleeping arount 2-3 hours a day
When I finally ended it, I got up and whent to the kitchen, and I was hearing the game's music inside my head and was very difficult to understand that my vision was on first person again.

I love the actor in this trailer. He is exactly Jacket. He looks like him but also is disconnected from reality. Looking away, open mouth, always shut. Trapped in his own mind like a sociopath or something. Also, tries to dont look at the mask after it startes to break. Because, well, it is fault of Richard, not of him.

Also, I'll be that guy and say that I can't remember when they demonized the violence and/or said that the game promotes it. Thing is, unless your focus is a specfic aspect (the OST, the graphics, the difficulty, etc.), you just have to talk about the violence, since it plays a pretty important role in the game, both story- and gameplay-wise.

The soundtrack is what got me into this series. I paid no attention to this game when it first came out, but I would hear rumblings about how good the music was. I think a year or two later, I decided to listen to it for myself and thought a game with a soundtrack this good is worth checking out. So I bought it, played it, loved it, and in no time at all the sequel came out and blew me away all over again. I love Hotline Miami and I can’t wait for what Dennaton Games has in store for us next!

This trailer is really well done, doesn't give too much away and yet makes you want to check out the game. I wish moviestrailers would take a note from this and not spoil the half plot months before the actual movie comes out.

How much did this little short trailer cost to produce? Expenditures, I would say are limited to: Bat, Mask, 2 Actors, Car rental, Camera, Set location, Editing, Music.

It has to be a 50 blessings agent. If it was jacket they would make him wear his signature chicken mask. Plus, they haven't and won't show jackets face. Also, the girl he saves in the film is blond, the building he saves her from doesn't have an elevator, and he usually goes into the fight unarmed.

The fans in hm 2 have their own masks that belong entirely to them and are named after them.
Bro after watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners, I realized that a Hotline Miami anime would be straight fire!
This game's atmosphere is a mix of joy (flashy colors, 80's synth music) and intense sadness (dead bodies everywhere, pain, dark places) ... very disturbing. it's truly a must play for a gamer looking for new experiences
I love how the trailer doesn't have any of the actual violence, but it communicates the feeling of the game perfectly.
In the end, all you're left with is blood and remorse.
The dropping of the bat also reflects how Jacket felt redeemed and was leaving violence behind after rescuing the girl.

First game will always be one of my favorites. I remember playing this game so much during my junior year at high school. Got my mind off of things.
Finished the game in about 5 hours without the puzzle, tho. Reminded me A LOT of the 90s topdown Shooter Loaded which i played a lot on PSX. Well, Hotline Miami is way harder and has the better music, i must admit.

Bought the games at the PlayStation store first week of December so 7 weeks ago for anyone reading, both 1 + 2 and what does I do because I'm a knob. They sit on my PS4 for over a month because I bought that many other games, I was busy playing little nightmares 1+2 Inside and Limbo etc Now like everyone else, I sit here daily playing the greatest 2 games ever made. I look up T - shirts online for sale with Hotline Miami on them. I look up back stories and documentaries. But this trailer here is the cherry on the cake. Someone in comment wrote that Jacket should have had his Jacket on in the trailer. MMMM nawww I prefer the trailer exactly as is. A white t - shirt looks lovely and disgusting with blood on it. 😂😂
