Remember a young Black man turning to me at the concert and saying, 'this is the greatest white man who ever lived.' I still don't know how he was there in the first place as we were still 13 years from change. His words had such a profound affect on me.
I suspect the younger South African have not, until he passed, grasped how much Jonny Clegg played a part of South African and African history and the shift created by influencing hundreds of thousands of young white South Africans in the mid 90's in that first vote... IMMENSE

This performance is absolutely stunning. I’m just discovering Johnny, Sipho, Juluka, Savuka, Karen Zoid in 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Here, we recently witnessed the murder of George Floyd and the resultant protests for justice and equality it ignited. Hearing these songs, learning the history of the musicians is an enlightening comfort and a beacon of hope for me. As a musician, I must say, in this live performance-though it’s taped and all the players “stage ready”-every person exudes such a joy.
