I really like this video style-it’s a great mix of OTB and insightful commentary, two things which aren’t often blended together in the chess content that I watch. I enjoy seeing the players react in real time to ideas that are well explained in post. Please do more, thanks!
I had a chess mate once. We played about 100 online games. Eventually, even though he was winning massively, I managed to get perpetual check. It was our first draw. He got so mad and said I cheated and needed to study the rules of chess, and then he blocked me lol. So, a weak hand shake is something I'm envious of!
Incredible game. One of those that can make pretty much anyone say "I thought I knew something about chess, but I guess I don't". Love it, cheers Eric!
1:46 Happy to hear from those (from comments on a previous video) who stated that turning on the eval bar wasn't a good idea. (I think it's an excellent idea and is a great learning tool.)
GM Akobian is great. He has lots of great informative videos on the STL chess club channel! I met him this past year at the Chicago open and he was even happy to sign my board! ❤
That's what happens when you don't keep things simple. He just should have taken the pawn and after that the rook (with his knight). Go up +3 and forcefully exchange material.
When your knight was attacked on c3 by the pawn on b4 and you played knight a4, why didn’t you play Queen to h4 in response to knight e4? If his Queen took you could take with rook and you aren’t getting forked. Move 13
Garry Kasparov's long lost brother has finally arrived. 😂
Don't diss my boy Var the Eval Bar
Garry kasparov if he was a good GM
I like this format!
You're style of videos are:
1. Informative
2. Captivating
3. Soothing
Thank you, Rosen!
Your*
I didnt have my glasses on when I started watching and I thought it was kasparov. 😂
for real, the side profile is so similar xdd
Love this style of content, Eric. More videos like this please!

Good winners and good losers are rare.
when you lose 100 times in a row then it wasnt a "mate" but a milker :P
@@user-m8k9d Why do you think, they've lost all the time?
@@the_multus Given the guy's reaction to a draw, yeah, they probably did lose every game.
I liked Eric's little comment on the handshake, i don't know if I've ever seen a really good handshake after a chess game
Akobian's lectures were what got me to study chess
I liked this format. It feels like I can hear Eric's inner thoughts while playing
I never thought I'd see you play chess with ElectroBOOM
Incredible game. One of those that can make pretty much anyone say "I thought I knew something about chess, but I guess I don't". Love it, cheers Eric!
I haven't seen this much action over three minutes since my wedding night.
I like seeing this battle. The two of you, (Go) Ben, and Jonathan Schrantz are the people who first got me interested in chess. Thanks

Very cool commentary Eric, thanks for sharing!
What a Game - This is why I love chess - I will rewatch this one many times - Thanks for sharing
That *was* a fun format! More like this, please!
Takes me back to his SLCC QGD video. The man doesn't age.
more videos like this we all want to see some tournament eric muscle blitz time scramble action!

Xqc getting quoted by chess masters is gold
Big respect to Var Akobian sir.. He is my first youtube chess teacher..🙏🙏
“Not the firmest of handshakes” exactly what I saw
Please keep doing more OTB blitz recaps!
Would've been fun to see Eric's first look at this game with the engine
Very nice coverage. Is there a link to the Lichess study of the game?
7:34 OH, NO! *HIS* QUEEN!!
Stock fish is so savage.
More of this content, please!
I really like akobian’s lectures when he did them with st louis. Armenia has many strong chess players 🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
I used to watch Netflix. Now I just watch Eric Rosen because I know I'm going to fall asleep in ten minutes anyway. Is this what being old feels like?
Buena partida.buen recurso.gracias y Saludos Rosen.
Oh man I love this .
Really very enjoyable game.
'xqc would be proud' lmao
Oh man… that… handshake…
Who else thought the focus blur was an artistic editing choice at first? 😅
I am, in fact, feeling very entertained
5:10 had me laughing

impressive attack that's hard to see coming even with time
My idiot self thought that was Kasparov in the thumbnail.
Love to see you internet masters playing face to face OTB don't know why just do 😊
Black and white filter on the weak handshake lmao
I thought it was Kasparov in the thumbnail
He looks like Garry Kasparov
Good game :) Varozhian is proud of You :)
bruh that handshake wtf var
Grandmasters hate him
How can you even save a position like that? It's magic. No, wizardry
Won't lie from the thumbnail, it looks like Kasparov
exciting game !!, missing the win in the end so sad , this is blitz🙄
Omg, 31.g8=B+ would have been so cool! I bet Akobian would have seriously looked at ...Kh8 for a second or two. Still, gg!
Human chess is indeed very exciting!
Oh no my focus 🤓

Akobian lectures at St Louis right? Between just you and me, I like your lectures better! ;)
How many rating points do you gain for that tough draw?
I was entertained.
Nice video!
Title change?
Nice game
@Tele-GramMrEricRosen you banned me in there and I just wanted to talk... And scambait a bit but that's beside the point
Fun fact! this guy is Kasparov's little brother
Nice video keep it up
I thought this was Garry
Interesting and Jobavaesque
Balls to the walls
yaay I saw b3 :)
love Varuzhan, but god damn he let himself go. hes not even 40 and he looks 60
There’s no way he’s only 10 years older than you 💀
O cara só joga porcaria jkkkkk
Yo Eric
Pawn b3 was such an obvious winning move surprised a GM didn't see that
The move he played was also obviously winning, grandmaster know to not spend too much time in that position
@@arnoudh6203 pawn move would have bagged him the immediate win
I miss the beard
'promo sm' ❗
b3 brings more black pieces to the attack and breaks through white’s defense
Eric u forgot to take away the stockfish eval bar
He acknowledges that it is on purpose
lidl garry kasparov
