Great video my brother.
I remember my first Box alarm. I pike poled myself to exhaustion. I went extremely hard. I was in great shape also. I trained Boxing for over 3 years. No smoking, no drinking. After a few laughs from the experienced guys and box alarms I learnt to pace myself. That gave me a lot more energy throughout the knockdown phase and into overhaul.
Jump rope, running, sprints, heavy bag punching, sparring, weights is what I do weekly. It’s really gave me a great foundation.
Stipe?

Great Info My G! Some people have no idea that feeling you get when you've pushed yourself as hard as you can for 15/20 mins but then need to get right back at it after a quick break/slow period! I def can see how this is so crucial for Firefighters!
Hit the punching bag for 3 mins, then 1 min recover. Do it for 12 rounds
My son graduated yesterday 11/17 from the San Francisco firefighter academy.
Much agreed. I joined at 48 and came from NYC to lowcountry south. My hydration was great prior but nothing for the amount of water and energy i burn out in 15-20 minutes inna fire. I’m learning better and still can add more work to it 3 yrs almost on. My weekly regimen includes sitting in dry and wet sauna and calculating from the moment I begin perspiring till 20-30 min then recover 3 min in shower cold and then go to next sauna section.
It’s helped greatly. In addition to HIIT and climbing work with weights
That is a fact! my last job was a 2000sf house, it was running the ceiling and walls and we chased it for 2 hrs and pulled every ceiling and wall in the house.
How to train to be a firefighter? Prepare yourself to wake up and assist emt's/paramedics for a 500lb lift assist.
There’s 4 of us that’s 125 lbs plus the EMTS helping / + a mega mover. There is no way you’re a FF. Nobody hires that weak in this field 😭
Deadlifts baby!
FYI… ALL recovery is aerobic. The bigger your aerobic base, the faster you recover between sets, exercises, and training days. You need both.
I’m so glad I do boxing 😂😂
I check my progress at the gym, but luckily for me, they have a spare room with just mirrors in it and great lighting. No need to mog everybody in the locker room.
New 100 push ups videos, please
And bring sally up push up challenge 💪🏻
Gona do some hill workouts like when I was in track and cross country
Any specific exercises. I know powerclean can do this but I don't know others
Kettlebell swings, sledgehammer against a tire, box jumps, burpees….anything really so long as it’s a little dynamic.
@@mtb416 thanks
Hello, I want to improve my fitness because I will be a firefighter. What are the training tips for me as a firefighter? How many weights do you use in your training and what are the standards approved by you? Thank you.
I think most volunteer fire departments don't do much for fitness.
Basketball
Which subject to take to become a firefighter 👩🚒
It’s a vocational blue collar job, you absolutely do not need to go to college to start, and you likely should not.
Your gonna be way to busy going to the fire academy, then EMT academy, and then Paramedic academy to go to college. Once you settle down and have been working the job for a few years then it’s highly advisable to go to collage to obtain your fire science degree or a degree in paramedicine
Weight Training or Calisthenics which is better for firefighting
Do both, it can only help your overall strength and endurance. Sticking with only one of them is only pigeon holing yourself
Ayo, sand bags and judo
Brazilian jiu jitsu
Im worried that i will be kicked out from my Fire Academy because im unable to complete all of the pushups, it gets to the point where im stuck on the ground, any advice?

HIIT
Everyone has cpat tips and tricks but the only advice that’s worth anything is DONT RUN OUT OF BREATH. It’s as simple as that.
So HIIT?
I don’t get it
