    "Rumah Makan" is an Indonesia term, not Malaysian. In Malaysia, we say "Restoran". Malaysians will think you are Indonesian if you ask "Rumah makan ini di mana?"Maybe the owners have a reason to make their joint have an Indonesian name, instead of Malay😁

    • @asiaminddynamics

      Thank you for sharing your deep knowledge. That's interesting as the food is Malay, right?

      @@asiaminddynamics 'Rumah Makan' literally means 'Eating House' - 'Rumah'=House & 'Makan'=Eating, and conceptually it boils down to meaning a restaurant.
      Both 'rumah' & 'makan' are Malay words, Malaysians know what they are. Just that as a style of speech, we Malaysians do not call a restaurant 'Rumah Makan', we call it 'Restoran'. Indonesians call it 'rumah makan' but as I understand, even Indonesians, especially younger ones, are also using 'restoran'..
      Both Bahasa Melayu & Bahasa Indonesia are standard registers of Malay language. The difference is maybe like US English & UK English. It's 'eggplant' & 'cookies' in US & 'brinjal' & 'biscuits' in UK!😁

    • @asiaminddynamics
      @asiaminddynamics  Год назад +2

      Me & friends just came back from this restaurant a couple of hours ago. We didn't even know that it exists although we are Malaysians, until I watched your video here. I sent your link to my wassup groups. We all decided to lunch here to test and taste the food. Lots of people, big food spread, all dishes looked enticing and mouth watering. Delicious, fully satisfied. Might want to come back again. Thanks to you for introducing us to the restaurant. Next time I'll also bring my family.

    Sigh! I jus love Malay food served like dis. I'm afraid where I am I can hardly find such restaurants. I can only order frm Food Panda at dis restaurant in my area. Choices r limited unfortunately. I love d food but am not about to travel anywhere outside my comfort zone let alone wrestle with d traffic jams and lack of parking!! Dat's y I resign myself to eating what's available around my neighbourhood! Or else I cook(but dat seems to b limited to my tennis elbow condition!! No I've never played tennis in my life!).
