@ There should have been a best expansion award for it. And awarding a DLC for an "Game" of the year is just defeating the point of the 'Game' of the year. If a DLC like Shadow of the Erdtree is allowed to compete for GOTY, it sets a precedent that any major expansion could also be eligible. This would blur the lines between DLCs and full games, leading to a chaotic and inconsistent nomination process. Games with ongoing content could essentially dominate every year's awards, overshadowing true standalone releases.
@charizard035 It was near the size of the base game 😭 it was more a sequel than dlc. If fromsoft didnt decide to make it a dlc and called it a standalone game, no one wouldve noticed

i think its crazy that they nominated ER like its a full game but then treated it at the awards as a DLC
