It's a great torch isn't it? After using the HM65R-T for a couple of years it was an easy sell for us. Absolutely loving the warm white combo. Thanks for commenting, appreciate it 👍
I just used this model for the first time tonight during my trail run. The warm+white light is brilliant. As you said in the video, the warm light truly gives definition of rocks, trees, just basically everything lol.
Great video guys I have been using the fenix for a couple years now and I love it 👍🏻 I bet reviews are not easy but as long as you give your honest opinion that’s what counts keep up the great work 👍🏻 🔦
Thanks Kevin, this was a tough video to do and very time consuming. We're really glad it's getting positive comments 😊 As for Fenix torches, they're a great bit of kit.
Great first review video and think that you should do more if time allows. I think you could cover and review your current running kit such as jackets, base layers, shoes , vest's and even nutrition - I'm sure others out there would be interested.
I got mine a few weeks ago and I am very happy with it. The tiny threads that feed into the BOA adjuster make me a tad nervous, but I bet they are more durable than they look. I remember seeing that there is now a BOA adjuster that loosens in increments -- instead of pulling the dial out and starting again. I would love to see that come to the next version. Did you enjoy making the review? Is it something that you would do again? Cheers and thank you for the video.
I thought the same with the tiny strings but they’re very strong and held up well to removal and relocation. To loosen in increments sounds like a really good idea and would be a solid addition to the boa system. As for the review, it was stressful! 😂 We’ve been at it for ages going back over things and trying to improve but there comes a point where you just have to let it go. I think we’re happiest when our mind is on the trails so you forget about the camera even though you’re still holding it! Would we do it again? Probably! Thanks very much for your comment, they’re much appreciated 👍
Hi, nice video. Fenix makes some nice lights and I recently picked up the Fenix HM65R-T V2.0. I like the warm and cool beams, but I was a little disappointed that they won't let you use both together in this version. The warm light does go up to 800 lumens now so that is a plus.
Bought one of these because you suggested it. Also Jack Scott did too and that underlined it. I need this .. Lakeland and also now Winter Spine. See you then :)
Nice one, definitely see you at Lakeland but Winter Spine?? Hopefully one day… At least spare batteries for this are cheaper than your previous torch!!
@@TrailRunningCouple hahah yes, i applied on the basis that I'd never get in. I got in. Anyway, a little (very large) matter of Coniston at 6pm 26th July first. See you guys there . 🙂
Oh wow, I thought you were joking about the Spine!! Get in, can’t wait to track you. I’m sure you’ll do us all proud Paul 👍 And yeah, Lakeland is no small matter either 🫣
@@TrailRunningCouple its not often I'm lucky. I failed the Great North Run ballot and that has a few more places. Opportunities like this can't be taken lightly. Mustn't balls this up. Where have you guys been lately?
You won’t balls it up, I’m sure of that. It’ll be interesting to hear how you get on with it compared to something like Lakeland where you’ll run a little more. Did I say run at Lakeland?? Must have forgotten what’s it’s like already! 😂 We’ve had bug after bug but getting back into it now. Got a week in the lakes next week so hopefully we’ll clock a few miles up 👍
One thing that caught me out last week was that if you have the torch on lock out and decide to give it a last minute quick charge before the run, the torch needs to be locked again after it comes off charge and before it goes in the bag.
i bought the Nebula, the warmer left light its awesome for wet road or roads with ice or snow. one important th8ng about this headlamp: the left light is also spot, not flood as the switch show! i have no problem with that. at medium its perfect for walking or running.
It’s such a great torch isn’t it. The warm white setting really does make a difference. Coming from the older model which didn’t have that option I can definitely see the difference 👍
Does it bobble around on your forehead with the weight....and how good is the elastic headband? Had to replace some of mine as the elastic looses its boing (different brand). Thx.
No, once tightened to your preference it stays in place though takes a few minutes to adjust to the upfront weight. You soon get used to it and forget though. We both prefer to wear the lamp over a hat, not sure if that would make a difference? I can’t see this being any different to the HM65R-T that we’ve used solidly for two years and that’s as good as the day we bought it 👍
After lots of research I bought one of these yesterday, great news you also agree that it’s the one to go for. Thx for the review 👍

Looks a good torch, good battery time and brightness. Well done on your first review 👏👏 they must be hard to do 😊
Thank you Ian, I reckon we spent around 8hrs, maybe longer to create a 6 minute video!

Brilliant isn’t it? Makes such a difference with added definition. Enjoy and thanks for commenting 👍

Well done you 2. Hope they performed well on todays/tonights race
Thanks Simon. Brilliant. We used the warm white light which worked really well in those conditions.

Thanks very much, really glad to hear so many positive comments and certainly something we may try again in the future 👍

Thank you! We thought the same as using the combined lamps on the DT gave great definition.
Excellent love it would love to see a review on the HM71r thanks
Thanks very much 👍
A fantastic review on a really great looking bit of kit. Nice work guys
Thank you, appreciate it 😊
Excellent review video. Will check these out 👍
Thanks Johnny. They’ve also released the HM65R-T v2 which they’ve sent us as well. Trying to get another review video out soon 👍
Hi there. This one looks an absolute beauty, how can it be improved? I'll buy the old one off you if you ever fancy selling it? 😊

Good point. I hadn’t noticed that but just tried it and it does exactly as you say 👍
