Just fitted mine. So snug they are never going to move. The nail really works. I laid out the mat, marked a dot in the centre of the hole and then inserted the pin about 5MM behind that mark and it slotted in perfectly to where I wanted my mat.
Video is quite good but misses off the most important thing. Fitting the pin clip into the undercarpet. The pin is offset and it is not clear how to position the pin clips that are offset from the base in relation to the top carpet.. close but no cigar !!!!
A 32mm holesaw made very light work of making the perfect sized hole in the matt for the rings to fit. I marked the carpet underneath where the matt was going at the back of where the hole is, and this served as the perfect location to spike in the clip so that it lined up after it had been pushed forward into the carpet.
Ignore the sarcastic replys FastN Furious but David is right. It can be confusing at first. Watch this clip at 1.03 mins and beyond then imagine using only the base carpet (not two). I think you will get it. ruclips.net/video/FYNUV3AEDAY/видео.html
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you have a lot of traffic though your car the pins slide out as there is no barbs to hold them in place. The best way is lift your carpet up and install underneath. . The clips are good .but the pins need barbs to stop them sliding in and out I have tried fitting them every which way I can they will come out. I'm a taxi driver so mine get used and they have been sliding out. Finally one of the pins snapped . So I lifted the carpet up and put a little slit and popped the clip in for underneath . No more popping out .. it's how car manufacturers fit them as standard from under the carpet.
God damn where can you buy these clips from I just purchased mats today from car mats company online they are tailored to my car but they didn't include clips I have Toyota Yaris 2007 can't find them anywhere
I just bought a set of car mats without instructions. How the actual fuck do I get those bastard clips off so I can place the mats and then screw them back in? This shite is so much more complicated than it needs to be
I disliked this video because he missed the most confusing procedure of how to fit the metal pin into the undercarpet. The metal pin arrives bent at 90 degrees angle and there is no gap between the metal pin and plastic clip housing, so undercarpet doesn't fit in between. I had to unbent the metal pin a little bit and make about 110 degrees angle. After that there was a little gap for the undercarpet to fit between the metal pin and plastic clip housing.
That sounds important but I don't understand it even slightly. I just bought a set of car mats and can't get the fuckers screwed in because the mats have these clips on them that won't budge
