Dick Avery - Chris-Craft Chief Stylist 1962-1982

In memory of Richard ‘Dick’ Avery and his wife Maureen, who sat down for an interview onboard a 35' Commander (his design). This short film focusses on Dick's contributions to Chris-Craft as Chief Stylist (1962-1982), specifically his design of most fiberglass Chris-Craft Commanders.
Chris-Craft produced many models in the Commander line, ranging in size from the sporty 19' to the palatial 60'. These boats are still plentiful today, and much sought after for their fine workmanship, seaworthiness and accommodations. They continue to increase in value as the awareness of their construction and durability becomes more well-known. This film's focus is on Dick Avery’s contribution to the Chris-Craft Commander line, and to the lives of countless families who enjoy these classic boats 60 years later.
