Vermonter here. I started to use the D-Minder app this spring and summer, had great success raising my D level, but started to get a bad skin rash after 6 to 7 weeks, asked my doc and he told me it was because of a hypertension medication I take, then told me to take antihistamine and use a sun screen, so predictable. I believe sun exposure is so important that I have begun to take steps to get off this drug so I can start my sun exposure regime again.
I lowered my blood pressure by eating low carb high fat (as per Dr Jason Fung’s book “The Obesity Code”) and after three months of LCHF I went pretty strict Carnivore with some dairy. I have an autoimmune so used the dminder app to track Vit D. I got a tan like I had as a kid after avoiding the sun for many decades. I’m on the North Island of New Zealand
@@fiona4731I went from keto to ketovore and now am mostly carnivore for a few years, but I just haven't had much success getting the BP down. I was taking an electrolyte supplement I made with salt, but I've cut that to just the magnesium and potassium, currently working on cutting way down on coffee, learning to lower my stress level and meditating every morning. I do try to exercise and walk every day as well. Autoimmune issue is why I started to use D-minder, and had the same benefit as you, got a tan after avoiding the sun most of my adult life. I pretty much grew up outdoors. I'm old enough to have been a free range kid. Thanks for the reply, it helps so much to hear from others who are on a similar journey to better health.
Hypertension might be naturally healed by adding magnesium chloride baths (1 pint of magnesium salt flakes + minimum 20minutes of bathing. Can also be used as water+magnesium (chloride) salt solution, on skin, the solution is called magnesium oil. This is taken though skin and helps to lower blood pressure naturally. Also helps with hundreds of neurological symptoms like headaches and muscle twitches. Magnesium salt flakes are cheapest available in 20-25kg bag delivered home. for 20-25or so euros/dollars. Magnesium is this form (like the oceans) is truly a wellness miracle , the drug companies don’t want people to know about. But it works amazingly well. All the best.
@@fiona4731 I started my journey to better health almost six years ago, paleo, low carb, keto, ketovore and now about 98% carnivore. I feel better now at 66 than I did when I was 40. The hypertension just seems stuck, though lots of things have gotten better, so I won't give up, thanks for your supportive reply.
As a child in England with delicate white skin we were taught the Noel Coward song that 'only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun' to keep us indoors and 'safe'. More recently the sun seems to have relocated behind a screen of thick white sky fuzz. We rarely see it here.
Anyone else notice the vast majority of sunny days this year in UK 2024, fall on working days, and usually it clouds over on the weekend? It’s miserable.
And to add to this, glen jefferys has said. The normalizing of test. When most or all of the previous tests have been contaminated with loads of blue light. Just like jack discussing cell biology where they did most or all before as dehydrated. I love this stuff. Keep it up. For me the past few weeks. Blocking blue at night has helped regulate my appetite and some weight is coming off. Late night cravings just about gone. OMAD is way easier.
Thanks for your usual straight talk and giving context to what I have come to understand and fully embrace in my lifestyle. Always trying to spread the word. 🙏💪
Good afternoon from Greece. Thank you very much for your contribution to real awakening. The problem is really deep, imagine that G. Ioannides, greek and worlds top epidemologist, was simply held for a fool in our country during the pandemic! I see it as a necessity to win access to real knowledge and clarity about our real interest, which is a really good life. Best regards
Yet another fantastic episode Dr Max! Your presentations should be essential viewing for anyone interested in being involved in their own health journey & not just a passenger !
People who live indoors usualy have a more sedentary life style, however if you haven't noticed how good your body feels in the morning and evening warm sun your diferant to me. Its also the infa red light that causes good feeling. Some sunscreens use petroleum based oils and other carriers. However its observable that sunburn damages our skin.
Problems I can see: - People living in sunnier areas are more conscious about the sun and its dangers, thus behaving differently, seeing as an important factor is when in the day you go outside - People who notice sun damage on their skin might behave differently, so: people who go outside more often have less mortality becomes people who notice sun damage (maybe cancer) consume less sun - Sun seeking people might do more sports, etc. Even if you account for that (as these kinds of studies do, people are notoriously bad at giving objective statements about their behavior) - Sun avoidance vs. living in an area like Finland is probably completely different, diffuse lighting will probably still lead to much higher vitamin D levels - Both might be true, too little sun and too much sun + all of the confounding aspects and behaviours - Vitamin D from sun vs. supplements
I'm curious about the influence of statin meds and other meds that interfere with cholesterol production which is required for conversion of VitD... there shoukd ne a relationship of increased incidence of skin cancers in folk with lowered cholesterol....???
I wonder if using tanning beds also beneficial? I know that Dr. Kruz mentioned that they are not good. But in the study you mentioned people were using them and seems that it gave them some benefits.
If vitamin D is a bio marker for how much sunlight we are getting, (and the getting of the sunlight being the important thing) is taking Vitamin D as a supplement not a good idea?
Right here asking the same question 🙋♀️ What I do know is I really need more sunshine; considering moving to Az. I’m very unwell with Hashimoto’s and terrible gut dysfunction 😢
Well, Max, thank you. I guess I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that we are being farmed and 'harvested', by the super rich families of the world. They are getting pretty skilled at it. They are fertilizing with all kinds of fake manure. Censorship abounds, and informed consent is not allowed much anymore. Thanks for trying, it is a lifeline for us to try to grab before being swept further downstream. May we be blessed with quantum light while we can. The children of our grandchildren depend on it.
We used to hear about a large ozone hole either directly above, or the size of, Australia, right? Is it still an issue? Does it make any difference to skin exposure?
People are using 33% hydrogen peroxide on their lesions and reporting that it is curing them. Also I use 3% hydrogen peroxide on my cold sores and they go away very quickly.
Many people have observed the the quality of sunlight we observe & feel today is vastly different from sunlight of recent studies. Any scientific evidence for this and thoughts on how it may alter the advice on recommended exposure? Also, how does Contrail Chemtrails, possibly affect exposure advice?
I'm 68 and don't understand those comments about the sun being different somehow. I'm pretty sure that a 4.5 billion-year-old star hasn't changed in the last few hundred years, nor do I think that human geo-engineering of the earth's environment has changed our own biological needs, governed by timeless laws of physics, but I'm not a scientist. 🤷🏼♀️
Great video, sad that sunlight is being put in a bad light based on (only UV) studies on mice. But believe me, the fact that you present this video in a blaze of red light does not help spread the message. I dare not send the link to friends and acquaintances because I will be seen as crazy
As a part of the nutrition aspect, I feel as a personal experience, fruits specially are crucial for the Sun living lifestyle, for it's high water content and antioxidants that helps to.protect naturally from the sunburns. Vegetables as well, but firstly fruits. I don't think meat should be in a higher priority position than fruits and vegs
@@markhedger6378 for the little that I've heard jack going into nutrition, I heard that he talks about animal fat and being low carb as a better choice for all the mechanisms that he talks about. However, if you live in the tropics and have access to those fruits that fruitify there, then it's another matter, because higher sun exposure in those latitude helps in the glucose metabolism, right? I feel that fruits and the Sun are made for each other. When I'm taking in the midday sun, I don't think in a steak, but a watermelon for sure
Wrong.. local to your latitude fruit and vegetables only during season- but grass fed fat meat should be the foundation of a healthy diet- fat makes the most metabolic water
