I already know Mori is a great singer. I love you for reacting the same way I did. I was in tears.
Mori not only sang but she made me feel like she was singing to me, like She told me her story & took me on a very personal journey of my own. This song has a different meaning to all of us. It's time to UNLEASH Morissette on the world. She need to come to the US/UK. I'm an actor in L.A. and know a bit about the music biz and I can say that Morissette is the FULL package. She has one of the best voices I've heard in decades and I think she has more to offer. I truly believe with the right guidance she also has a career in film/t.v. I think there is a very talented actor lurking behind that stellar voice. She needs to do a concert at the Hollywood Bowl as her coming out party....record it live and film it. But what do I know...I'm just another guy on RUclips! lol
She's been to the USA and Canada many times before.
Maybe it's time people in UK/US place a request to their local radio station of one of her song so that other people can hear nice vocals and be aware that there's a voice out there that touches hearts

It's a Gary V arrangement. I think it's my favorite by her so far. Glad you're back Dan.
What a way to cap your Mori mini-marathon, Dan! Just a quick background on the song: it was written by the late Freddie Santos for the play "First Name", which was the first original Filipino Christian musical back in the late 80s, which he also directed himself. The original musical arrangement and vocal recording was done by Gary Valenciano, who also released it as a single in his album around that time. The musical was reprised last year in honor of Freddie Santos who passed away in late 2020. Morissette was selected to reprise "Could You Be Messiah" and the musical rearrangement was done by none other than Gary Valenciano himself, who has nothing but high praises for Mori's performance.
To add to that: Gary even said it was the very first time he rearranged his song for another singer to sing, and Mori was his top and first choice. 😊😊😊 Such an honor for her and us her fans.
This is indeed one of Mori's most emotional, spiritual, raw and vulnerable performances. Few reactors and listeners remain unmoved by the lyrics, music and overall vibe. Are you reacting to her Signature EP release with 5 all original songs? They are all 🔥, all different stylistically, all with weighty lyrics that carry thought provoking messages. Thanks again for reacting to and supporting Asia's Phoenix, who appears to be on the verge of international recognition.

Gary V original singer and composer of the music ,wanted a female version, and asked Mori if she'd do a rearranged version to honor Freddie Santos ( lyrics) who passed last Dec. . Doesn't matter if you embrace faith, but this sure gets the tear ducts working.

Great reaction to an incredible performance. This was a one take video. The voice was from a previous recording session but regardless the emotions were there and the tears were real. The final edited version has some fade ins, some different camera shots, includes subtitles and of course no talking at the beginning or end. This is the "one take" video, a one take filming over the audio track version of this performance which was released a couple of months ago in tribute to the passing of the song's composer, Freddie Santos who passed away in December 2020. "Messiah" was made into a hit by Gary Valenciano when it was first performed in 1998 in a first-ever Filipino, Gospel-themed musical titled "First Name". For her part, Morissette was chosen by Gary V. himself to revive the song with this new arrangement. In the MV, we can hear the voice of Dave Lamar as director. The "other" version of the video is smoother and more straightforward, however, we still can enjoy Morissette's masterful vocals even in this "rough" cut.
