This is the FIRST TAKE video of this beautiful song, the finished Version they did a couple of different camera angles, now the official Edition it has at the begining those involved in this recording, it even has the lyrics on the screen, now this is a Philippinen Christian Musical lyrics writen by Freddie Santos back in 1990 with the arrangement by Gary Valenciano who sang this back then, sadly we lost Freddie Santos in December 2020, so Gary rearranged it for Mori to sing, Dave lamar Mori's husband produced the video, what a great song, and in black and white is perfection, the intro with the strings and piano just a great intro to the song, love when Mori sings with a full orchestra, but when she sings with just two or three instruments makes it very emotional, I've forgotten have you reacted to Mori's O COME O COME EMMANUEL and O COME ALL YE FAITHFULL medley yet, if not ENJOY 😊 merry Xmas and a happy new year

This was prerecorded in the studio but this is the live video performance. Obviously the combination of the music to the video was magical. Gary Valenciano first sang this song in 1991 but arranged it for this special cover by Morissette.

one more suggestion: Morissette has two (very well known) duet covers out there, short but brilliant, you could do a double feature on them, ‚you are the reason‘ (Calum Scott) with Daryl Ong, and ‚a whole new world‘ (Aladdin) with Darren Espanto. And yes, all her 5 originals from her EP are great too, I‘d suggest the latest live with band versions for her best performance (with cute pigtails too!).

Great reaction again guys. The cry factor on this performance is particularly enhanced if you are connected to the words. I’ve actually never seen a reaction that didn’t laud the writing as much as the vocal interpretation until now which was refreshing! That said her pure , controlled voice was emotionally stirring! Zero fireworks yet 100% satisfaction. Two suggestions … She used to be mine which is Defying Gravity and Messiah combined for emotion and fireworks and MoonRiver / Ushay mashup combining the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s song and a unique counterpart in Tagalog! No belts at all. No fireworks! Vocal mastery only. It is rarely reacted to because there is no real build to the song or huge ending but in your spare time maybe check it out. If you wanna mix it up her recent concert performance of huling el bimbo has a rock edge to it and she shows the whole package live in concert with a huge crowd. Look forward to what’s next.

Great story behind this song, by Freddie Santos ( lyrics ) and Gary Valenciano . In 1988 , Freddie , living the Christian life was not easy. He still struggled with the usual drinking, smoking, among others was in a bar, during a rehearsal break and in decided to write his thoughts on a napkin...and in 17 minutes had this piece. He needed music, and Freddie called his friend Gary and asked if he would consider writing music to the lyrics he had just written. Arriving at his house, the first thing Gary said was that he was really busy and claiming he had a broken key on keyboard. Looking at lyrics and Gary V also being Christian, said, lets go upstairs to his studio at 5pm. At 5am, this is what we have today. Gary recorded this, and it was used in a play by Freddie, called First Name , After Freddie's death in late 2020 ,Gary asked Morissette to record it, and sing it for a revival , called, First Name Anew. BTW , its Mori's husband Dave Lamar that is doing the video and you hear.
