Just listened to you talk about feeling guilty for giving them an iPad so you can get something done… don’t be hard on yourself. I do not know one parent that has not felt that they’ve messed things up with their kids. 20/20 hindsight shows every wrong decision that we’ve made. No one is perfect and no one is going to get it all right. Just be kind to them and yourself and have faith that you’ll find the way ❤ Also just know that everyone is just winging it to the best of their ability

If you can't get rid of those guys.. you have to choose one of them to live together, moths or spiders or lizzards. Each one of these are on the top of their food pyramids :) I think I'm lucky 🤞✨

I have 4 boys ranging from 16 to 5 and we don’t really limit screen time around here. Yes, I love for them to play and use their social skills and they do, BUT I also believe screens are the world we live in now. My husband is the head of IT at his job and my kids are geniuses on the computer, so we allow it. It is the future!
I'm so sorry for the loss of Piper. It's definitely loosing a part of your family and is extremely hard. We lost our Bella 7 months ago. She was also 14. My three year old told me this morning he was missing Bella and all those emotions come flowing back. Her quality of life was not the greatest the last three years since she developed diabetes. I know she is not suffering anymore.

I enjoy these cleaning videos and seeing when you upload a new one. ❤ I can’t believe how fast the year has flew by and it’s almost the middle of April. 😮 I do not have any plans for summer but that doesn’t mean something won’t come up. I agree it’s hard to give yourself grace when trying to make yourself success. I’m sorry for your lost, yes your animal does take a part of your soul. 🥲❤🥰🦋

I remember suggesting that at your dog's age and his accidents that maybe he should be put to sleep. I understand because I had one who died of old age and one who had to be put to sleep because of old age and seizures. But you have my sympathies. So glad you sold the house so quickly with interest rates so high. Keep us apprised of your moving date and how the new house build is going. Where will y'all live in between. You're doing a great job.

I just love your videos, I like the spaces like now with less things, I’m a minimal person and for me “less is more” kids don’t need so many toys when they start to grow up around 9/10 years old they just don't want to play anymore, it's sad but it's the truth, I say this with experience as a mum of two aged 12 and 10.

Oh Michelle, so sorry to hear about the loss of your pup. 🥲 It is so hard to lose a member of your family. We lost our doggy of almost 16 years about 7 years ago. We weren’t going to get another dog for awhile and then we missed her so much that we ended up getting a puppy 4 months later. You will do what is right for your family. I’m so sorry to hear about Piper. I just went through that in February with one of my dogs. I still have two dogs 14 and 10 years old. Both rescues from Texas. Dogs give us so much happiness and it is unbelievably difficult to say goodbye. You gave Piper a great life. She was one of the lucky pups.

I am so sorry your baby girl was sick, and I am also so sorry to hear that you lost Piper. Our dogs are like family to us and I know how hard it must be for you. You are in my prayers. Here is a scripture that helps me so much! I am a worrier too. Read Philippians 4: 6,7. It helps me when I am worried about things. Congratulations on selling your home and getting a new home. I am so sorry for your loss. Dogs are such amazing creatures that we as people do not deserve. I have 3, the oldest is going to be 12 very soon and it’s difficult to think about. I’m sure Piper had a great life.

So sorry about Piper. It’s never easy even though we know we are doing what’s best for them. Let yourself grieve, it’s a huge loss. Fourteen years is a long time for a big purebred dog. 💔💔💔💔
First off, sorry about the loss of your family member. And, that's what our pets are. It is so hard to lose one but truly, the happiness they bring us is worth the sadness of their passing. And, I hear ya about the Vid. I got sick last week and wondered if I had it but didn't want to test. I'm better this week but still nasally and coughing so, who knows? There's always something new each day! I am so happy you sold your house so quickly. What a blessing when things just go so smoothly and you feel like it's truly God's will for your life. We don't have plans to go anywhere this summer. We went to Mexico in 93 and had a blast. We went to Cozumel and it was so beautiful. You will enjoy it. We will spend as much time with the four grandchildren as we can while the two oldest are out of school and probably take them somewhere fun in the D/FW area. My boys are 44 and 41 now and I'm still trying to figure out where I went wrong, lol. Prepare to roll your eyes. A lot. Good video Michelle. xoxTXDeb

I’m so sorry about Piper. Black labs are the best! We lost ours the day after Christmas in 22. She was 11. I totally lost it as well as my husband. She was the best girl ever. Bella🐾

I know I'm late to the "raising a teenager" discussion, but I wanted to chime in. I have 4 children, ages 18, 14, 6, and 2. The absolute best piece of advice that I can give is simple, raising teenagers starts when they are young. I have never had any "major" problems with my teens. They are respectful, do well in school, play sports, have friends, etc... (my oldest just graduated high school last week). The people that your children will become begins when they are very young and will transition into their teenage years. We don't scream at our kids, we don't use physical punishments, however, we expect respect. Actions have consequences (time out, losing privileges, etc..) and these are things that you start when they are toddlers. I'm also a big believer in "pick your battles"; we don't fuss over the little things. If you are consistent in following your morals and values and your children have a clear vision of behaviors and consequences ("if I do A then B will happen"), the teenage years won't be much different except they are bigger and want to be around you less, lol. You tend to hear a lot of horror stories about the teen era, but to be honest, I find it easy and refreshing. By the way, I have experience with both boys and girls, I have 2 of each. My older 2 (girl, boy) then my younger 2 (boy, girl).

This summer we have booked a few camping dates at a couple of our provincial parks here in Canada. We have an antique motorhome and we're taking our grandchildren off for some outdoor adventures! Crossing our fingers for a sunny and dry summer. Camping in the rain is no fun!
Our whole family....me and my husband, our 3 daughters and their spouses and their children (ages 4,5,7,11 & 13) spent 1 week in February in an all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. We had the best vacation ever. Everybody loved it. I hope your family has a wonderful time!
Im sorry about Piper the loss im sure is huge....we had a yellow lab, she was an amazing companion. Lily lived to be 12 and after we lost her I didn't want another dog. 3 years later we got Sahara. A lively happy little cockapoo. She was 8 weeks when we got her and she has turned into a great little friend. She's now 4 and our grandchildren love her as much as she loves them.
Getting a pet is a big life changing decision and commitment, my advice is do whatever feels best. You don't want another dog that's fine, maybe someday you will, and if not that is ok.

Sorry for your loss of Piper. We lost our almost 19 year old orange tabby in October. We had another cat but I was sure I didn't want another cat but Poe was so lonely and it broke my heart. We went to the humane society to just look and now we have our Penny and she's a younger spunky brown tabby and she's JUST like our old boy.

Moth story: my aunt woke up with pain in her ear. When my uncle looked he saw one of those giant moths stuck in her ear. She had to go to the hospital to get it removed. She said she could hear the moth flapping next to her ear drum like you can hear a bug buzz by your head. Only a million times worse because again it was next to her ear drum. Ughhhh that story is haunting.
We also had this moth worms at my parents. 🤮
I feel terrible sharing that story before watching the whole video. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. 🐾

So sorry about Piper Michelle - losing a pet is losing family..When my dog passed it took us a while to adjust and I haven't had a pet since but I know eventually I will again...

So sorry about your dog. It really is the hardest part of being a pet caregiver. When my Mom died she left me her two dogs. We lost one last summer. The other one isn’t doing great but she’s still kicking for now. They’re both 14 also. Lots of love and prayers. ❤️

First, remember that Piper is no longer in pain, he is waiting for you as he jumps and plays across the rainbow bridge. As for screen time- I believe in limiting the entertainment portion of it, allowing your children to get bored because that generally opens up their imagination in play or opting to read books for adventures; as for cell phones and any social media, I believe in limiting that also because humans need to learn to interact face to face physically because they can see the impact of their words or actions and be able to work it out without just ignoring them on social or text. Cyber bullying is a real thing because these kids just do not experience the impact, they can hide things from those around them especially the adults in their lives. I also firmly believe that all of us need to turn it off about 2-4 hours before bed- research has shown that the blue lights of screens disrupt the natural circadian rhythm that tells us to sleep and many adults and children don’t sleep well; then there’s the overstimulation from the screens for all of us. I am not saying to never have tech in the house, but there is a time and place and it should not consume a majority of anyone’s free time or down time- I have a 25 yo grandson who only wanted to play video games and thought he could make $ from it- his mother used screens to babysit him and his sister while she “relaxed” after work and “needed her space”, the kids generally had to fend for themselves, their father didn’t think much of it until my daughter brought it to his attention that both kids weren’t bathing or eating regularly and the only time they and my son-in-law interacted was when they played video games together, so, they began limiting all screen time and it was a battle, our granddaughter bounced out of it quickly and started paying sports at school through high school, whereas my grandson had no job, was evicted 3 times from apartments by roommates and now is in therapy to address his video addiction and learn how to interact with actual human beings. Yes, this is an extreme situation, but it is indicative of what tech can do. Just make sure you implement rules and expectations when it comes to tech and cell phones and add parental controls like Life360 on all their home tech items.

Im sorry to hear about your dog 😢 My dog died in june last year. It was such a hard time. I cried so much. (Still have my moments when i talk about her. Their our family members its so hard to say good bye. She has left a hole in my heart ❤️
