Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I introduced a check chain after 2 years of positive reinforcement only and she would not respond to the pop/correction at all, and started pulling just as bad. I almost gave up as I felt like I was hurting her too badly when she’d pull and not yield to the pressure or a check correction. I tried out this method in the video with using the same quick pop correction AND changing directions combined with a click and treat when she’s in the position I want her in and she is picking up walking nice SO FAST! THANK YOU!!!! I love all your videos and your use of mostly positive reinforcement with appropriate and timely corrections is the exact style I needed to get through to my hard headed yet eager to please dog. Keep up the good work and I wish I lived in your area so I could send my dog to your board and train. ❤
Great video! I have a very powerful dog (90lb German Shepard/Lab/Pit) that pulls constantly. Any suggestion on how to get the leash slack so your suggested technique will work? The leash is constantly at a tight state because she pulls so hard even with the prong collar, so I'm unable to do the quick yank of the leash. Thanks!
My dog walks perfectly using a prong collar, until we meet another dog, then he lunges at it taking no notice of the collar whatsoever, I can't give him a pop as he's pulling full tilt on the lead, if I try to get a little slack to do a pop he immediately takes up the slack as he has his full weight against the lead.
Increase the distance between your dog and the distraction until they can be successful. Then slowly close that distance until you and your dog can be successful where you started. This process could take minutes or weeks. Be patience and strive for "progress" rather than "perfection". You will get there in time.
Sorry to hear that. Although sometimes a dog's past causes things to take a little more work to fix, there aren't too many situations where a dog's behavior can't be corrected with an approach that is appropriate to the dog.

Bro I literally just did this with my dog. Took me 15 minutes and now my little pup walks right next to me constantly now. Wow
Thanks for the story. I'm thrilled this was helpful to you.
Thank you I love my dog but she has been such a pain in the ass since her previous owner let her pull and walk way ahead of them for 3 years
