Outstanding demonstration. These dogs are so smart, they are used to even get rid of aggressive groups of geese. My ma has a border collie mix, and I thought the dog was crazy, when she'd run circles around vehicles that were parking in the driveway. Turns out, she was just having a blast. I work with and have owned German Shepherds and pitbulls mostly, but I absolutely love border collies and labs.
Great pup!! Love how he stops on a dime and gives you a nickel back!! They’re smarter than some people I know! But I would like to give him a cookie!!🥰❤️🐕🦺❤️
We used to hunt on a ranch outside Ozona, TX. I loved watching the ranchers dog, Pepper, working those sheep and cattle. Such a pro. I was told not to play with her... she was working!
I like the demo, but the dog has been kicked about three times. Healers seem better suited at dodging. My BC was cattle bred. Her brother went to the King Ranch.
We have a border collie and heeler cross and he is the smartest dog I've ever seen. We got him as a puppy and he was fully potty trained in 3 days, and fully crate trained after the first night we had him. The breeder we got him from had never had him in a crate and he was still doing his business inside on fake grass mats. But he is an astonishingly fast learner, he'd probably be great at this
I have a Border Collie/Australian cattle dog mix. I guess that head down slow sneak walk is just part of them. She has never seen a sheep or any cattle but does that at the dog park when she is seeing new dogs. Will lay down and wait for us then do that low head sneak walk up to meet new dogs. She also seem to like to bring any running dog back to where they started.
Ok I’ve got a question. I have 7 grandchildren and I wanted a border collie but it looks like they bite a lil more then I thought. Will they go after children?
depends on how strong their herding instincts are but if they are trained properly and have a different job then probably not. If it were me tho I would opt for a different dog just because its a bit of a wild card and a lot of work to keep them busy and out of trouble.
Mine has nipped my oldest a few times.....hpwever he was rougher on her when he was younger so it wasnt a bad enough bite to draw blood just left a mark for about 2 hours and he was fine tho....she wasnt rough at all with the kids but she will move them or stop them if they are messin with her or doin stuff they shouldnt she will push them away from it....so i think if you can make sure ur kids arent rough then i think it would be ok....they just cant have a first reaction to kids be a bad one....thats what happrned to mine....she had a kid attack her when she was a pup so she had been growin and with my youngest she hasnt dont nothing to him or to my other....shes lesrning but very protective....she bites me and my husband when we play chase our kids lol
When I was a kid we had a border collie mix and she herded me and my brother. Her nips at our heels were scary as a child but if she actually got us it didn't hurt. It's all in how the dog is brought up and trained.
With respect, they can herd anything, but are well known with sheep. Widely used in Australia as cattle dogs. Heelers are brilliant droving dogs but generally won't take to detailed commands like a collie

My mcnab shepherd runs circles around us when she's gonna be taken out for a walk or the dog park

It's insane the level of control he has over the dog. Like he's got a remote

Holy crap he’s so sneaky, what a sneaky boi
I have an 11 month old border collie and they are the best
This guy is like Yondu and the dog is his whistle-motivated arrow
Wow. That dog does earn his meals. Very impressive
Pobrecito got kicked in the chin and STILL kept it moving!
Really nice dog great video
This is true country, and knowing dogs. .
Good to watch this dog work. Wish the audio was better.

So awesome!

this breed requires a lot of exercise, keep that in mind.

It's all in how the dog is brought up and trained.
I hope so
Amazing
Border collies are not cow dogs there sheep dogs blue heelers are used for bulls an cows
Collies have been adapted for cattle herding in the US.
Bsh 555 true. But most Collies are usually sheep dogs
My smooth coated border collie comes from a cattle ranch that work only with cattle just like his parents/grandparents 🤷♀️
With respect, they can herd anything, but are well known with sheep. Widely used in Australia as cattle dogs. Heelers are brilliant droving dogs but generally won't take to detailed commands like a collie
Border collies are used for all animals actually, some even round up geese. They just work the best with sheep.
What a great dog he got kick in the chin a couple times and he’s OK he’s just kept on going
Bahahha I have a malinois who herds my goats but there's this one angora goat who always just turns around and starts having a go at her.
👍🏼
I think collies are better with sheep and healers are better with cows
No cow was butchered when making this video ..
ez cattle dög.??🤔
