This scene is why movies have musical scores. From the rush when Peter bursts through the trees to the epic triumph of the celebration at the end, the music brings this to life!
2:21 Always loved how this scene shows Rufio was never envious or threatened by Peter's return. He just really needed some confirmation that he was infact the Pan.
@@ononyerealestste8387I think his story is one where the writers allowed the audience to make up their own back story but yes I’d be interested to know as well
@danielgoss6367 In my headcanon, I like to think that Pan and Rufio were best friends. Pan left and put Rufio in charge of the lost boys in his absence, a move that was supposed to be temporary. But Pan left for 30 years, and Hook power grew exponentially, while the Lost Boys became a shadow of their former selves. So Rufio saw this as abandonment. So when Peter came back as a grumpy middle aged man, Rufio refused to believe it, as it would mean that Peter betrayed his own principles and became the very thing he always despised. Rufio refused to believe his best friend, the Pan, of all people, the one that showed them how to forever be a kid, would go and do this. This is why Rufio became so antagonistic towards the adult Peter. And the fact that Peter suppressed his memories and became acclimated too well to adult life didn't help his case either.
@@thepsychicspoon5984 I was thinking more like, Pan left and Rufio stepped up to be the leader and take care of these boys. That's why he really needs to be 100% sure this is actually pan he is dealing with.
When Thud yells, "PETER PAN!!" then the epic John Williams Symphony for this film hits while Robin Williams as a reborn Pan flies through the sky.... Every time I get chills because it's so God damn epic.
Re watching this reminds me of how they always covered up Ptere's ears until he learns how to fly and then we see he's got pointed ears. I always wondered, did he have those the whole time, or by remembering his happy thought, he was transformed back into his old form pointed ears and all? I always liked to think that he always had the ears but hid them when he grew up. They were always there, just like "Peter Pan" was always in him, they were just buried deep and covered up.
You have good eyes. I had to rewatch this scene to notice that. Maybe it was something he always had, but was bullied for them, so he hid them. Now that he remembers who he is he's no longer ashamed og them.
This movie defined my childhood And it is one of the core memories I have of my grandfather who died in 2001 even if it is ONLY that I watched it in their house. As an adult, the score - the cast - the plot - Robin Williams was put on this earth to play Peter Panning.
Please explain to me how this movie gets 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. We watched this movie a thousand times as kids growing up in the 90's. Amazing story, score, casting (god bless Robin Williams) and acting. Best memories ever.
What I love for this is that Peter has regained his powers but, when he raised his sword "The Boy who wouldn't Grow Up" disapeared and "Pan the Man" rises.
If people could fly like Peter Pan, they would feel such an adrenaline rush with this exact same music flowing through their system. Any live action Peter Pan movie after this Robin Williams special is just moot.
Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?

The John Williams score just makes this scene so freaking epic.
One of my very favorite John Williams scores, and that's saying something.
By far the best depiction of live action Peter Pan I will ever see
Couldn’t agree more. This is by far the best Peter Pan live action movie.
Morever this is most likely a Sequel
Not really this is far far different from what Peter Pan is actually about
@@christophermichaelclarence6003It is *_definitely_* a sequel.
For any 90s kid like myself this scene means alot to me
Pareil pour moi, ce film a marqué mon enfance. Encore aujourd’hui j’en ai les larmes aux yeux, beaucoup de nostalgie
Me too
Me too.
Right in the feels, bud
Same here as late 90’s kid, this scene means a lot to me as well.
Happy childhood memories.

I tear up every time I watch the scene when Peter starts to crow and then everyone else joins in. RIP Robin Williams.
Same. Can't help it. John Williams' shows *_no mercy_* there!
I love how when Peter took his sword, it rang. The blade remembered its previous owner, and it sends chills down my spine.
I have a kitchen knife that does the same thing.

What's rufios story it's high time we knew it

0:44 John Williams the master!
0:44 If you are not crying and smiling at this point you have no soul!
This!
That silhouette against the sun gives me goosebumps every time
John Williams, Steven Spielberg...thank you ❤

brings tears. glad to be one of the kids who grew up in the 90‘s.
That John Williams score, though 🔥
:15-:45 is one of the best scenes in film history.
The audience of kids cheered when he finally remembered
He never needed fairy dust in Neverland ❤ his happy thought alone was enough
When I was kid in the 90s this scene made me believe i could fly!!!
Ruffio:"You can fly, you can fight, you can": (Robin Williams crows!)
You are the Pan.Forever Robin❤ R.I P❤
Peter easily could have kicked out Rufio but instead he bowed to him like he was saying “thanks for being in charge while I was away…” :)
Great movie made even better by John Williams brilliant music.
For an 8 year old younger me this scene was pure magic❤😊
This tickles both your imagination and your inner child in one beautiful movie.

This was my favorite part of the movie!!
One of my favorite scenes in the movie
The soundtrack is 🔥
What I love for this is that Peter has regained his powers but, when he raised his sword "The Boy who wouldn't Grow Up" disapeared and "Pan the Man" rises.
Crowing nonstop like that had to be hard on the throat. 😮
My favorite part of my favorite movie
Anyone ever notice how Robin Williams throws his knife mid air when he's rolling over to fly on his back? Time Stamp: 1:50.
3:17 what is that hand motion suppose to signify?
Ive always wondered about that
It's a mocking gesture kids do to adults.
I used to do it as a kid a very long time ago. Even I don't remember 😂

I still want a sword like that to this day.

Sucks that his hair didn't stay the way it was after the crowing part. Would have loved to see the final battle with the Peter Pan style hair.
Air support means a lot.
I mean, it’s not hard to be great at basketball when your vertical is literally infinity 😅
My happy thougt: Robin van Riel! My boyfriend!❤
Why was Peter the only one who could fly whenever?
Idk it was never said everyone else needs fairy dust he just can he said tink taught him
Its a shame how Robin Williams went out, those divorces did him in
Ever thought why the kids never grew up? Some day they are dead 💀 and in heaven
