Hearing bandits say things like "...might pay off my bounty this time... walk into the city a free man..." always makes me feel bad for killing them. Who among us hasn't occasionally stolen a high level sword from the Jarl or accidentally shouted a guard off the battlements? We had the option to reload the world to a time before we made our mistake, but bandits aren't given the option. They're driven from the city and forced to live with other criminals, and from then on return to civilisation is only a fantasy to them. Maybe the nightmares about the trader they killed will stop... Maybe they'll choose the harshness of reality over the warm numbness of skooma and save to pay off their bounty... Maybe they'll walk away from their gang in the middle of the night and start a life farming the barren soil of Skyrim... Maybe... Until Benor and his mage appeared from the shadows.
Jon: The Healer NPC that occasionally brings back dead people to fight along side the great and mighty Benor, as well as repeatedly releases Stormageddon onto the world.
Good afternoon wenches and menfolk, I'm Benor, this is many a true benor, and welcome back to skyrim where I continue to test out the new healer NPC mod. Last time I decided I was finally done with jon's constant forced relocation via shout which, as all the people in the comments have repeatedly told me, is a feature not a bug. So we left him behind for a little bit to get back to the classic skyrim experience. After telling him to naf off we went over to whiterun to pick up my favorite vanilla npc, uthgerd the unbroken. Or at least that was the plan until she was flipping nowhere to be found. I ended up wasting the whole episode scouring the whole of whiterun with no luck. I cant help but feel, like all bad things that go on in this playthrough, that this is somehow jon's fault. Nevertheless, I need at least someone to help me out so it's back to shouty mcshoutface again.
Hey at least the healer npc is making your never jump run of skyrim at least slightly easier, aldo the npc will decide to go jumping off to random places that can be hard to reach without the ability to jump yourself, so good luck trying to command it if it refuses to move from a position you cant get to due to your no jumping rule
Jon I don't know how to tell you this but its about Benor. you see he suffers from a very common problem that the Friendly people of Skyrim have. you see he suffers from.... LEVEL CAP (que dun dun duuuuuuuH) now you may not see signs immediately but as you progress past level 30 you will find that benor has a harder and harder time handling tougher enemies even if you give him weapons and armor at regular intervals. Do not worry though i have prescribed him one mod to remove the level cap on your companies. one edit in the command console to set his maxlevel to 0 will also work. on a more serious note you will need to apply that mod in the future or at the very least find a new companion with a higher level cap or one with no level cap. since you know you hit like a baby made out of wet paper towels.
The armor's enchantment is buggy. It sometimes goes after neutral or friendly targets, especially right at the beginning of combat. A similar bug is the Targeting modification for Power Armor helmets - it highlights living targets but can cause neutral mobs to go hostile as soon as they come into range.
First Rule about Boethiah's Cult, we don't talk about Boethiah's cult. Second rule of Boethiah's Cult, we *don't talk* about Boethiah's cult. The Third rule of Boethiah's cult, if someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, they're a weakling and must be *culled*. The Fourth rule of Boethiah's cult, If you see only two guys in a fight, *kill the winner*.
Got to love Jon's logic. He's right by the entrance to the castle with a drawbridge leading to it (no need to cross the bridge). Rather than go through the door, he goes back to the opposite end of the drawbridge to lower it and walks across it to end up where he started.
Jon complains about not being welcomed to an illegal Gambling den when he ran at the door with a flaming mace, an electrical abomination and a man with an axe bigger than his head. I wonder what might have given a bouncer the impression that he needed to fight.
It would be nice though if some mod allowed you to join some bandit/orc factions and you can potentially interact with this area like you would a legitimate hunter spot in the wild with some small shops and such that'd be great. Spose' the mod author would have to put in the pit fighting stuff though so that might be why you can't do that in vanilla; they didn't have the time/budget for a whole new mechanic/game behavior for some hole in the wall interaction there's very few of in the game.
Jon!! The only enchantments that work on follower's armor and jewelry are ........ Fortify Heath, Stamina, Magic Fortify H,S,M Regeneration Fortify Heavy/Light Armor Fortify Unarmed Resist Fire, Frost, Shock, Poison and Magic Muffle Waterbreathing Any enchantment on weapons work normally.
We could make a Drinking game. Two shots every time he yells Benor, One shot every time he just says Benor, three shots every time he questions where Benor is / Finds Benor, and Five shots every time they have an awkward lovers moment.
30:50 That giant never went hostile for me. He just stood there, even helped me when I was attacked by animals. I think there's a spare giant club near him that you can tell you're companion to pick up.
It would have been great if while Jon was out doing the Boethia thing, Bennor just finished both the main quests by himself. "Bennor, I'm thinking maybe we should have a look about all these dragons we've been running into." "Already taken care of. I dealt with Alduin." "Right. Okay then, how about we investigate this whole civil war business?" "I took care of that too. Drove the Imperials out." "Well, alright then Bennor. Ooh there's a cave over there, let's go have a look at that, shall we?"
Funny how you can join the Dark Brotherhood even after you have killed potentially multiple assassins sent by them to kill you, each one with a signed note about how "Failure is not an option."
Anyone else noticed that Benors helmet looks different in the inventory? It has the horns of a reindeer in the inventory and the horns of a ram outside of the inventory. (1:24 - Inventory) (4:00 - On his head!)
arve keskitalo from a female character standpoint that is how the helmet looks. it just looks different on Axe Wielding Lunatics head because he is a he
that giant you walked past around 31:00 actually never targets you. He's mourning his dead mammoth and if you had any respect you'd go and mourn with him!
Just so you are aware Jon, the Atronach Stone's ability to absorb spells can also absorb your own attempts at conjuring. So if you fire off a Storm Atronach spell, and it doesn't work, that is because of the Atronach Stone absorbed your own spell.
While this is true, the trouble he had conjuring an Atronach in the previous episode was a known glitch with the Atronach summoning on certain specific blocks of terrain. Atronach summoning requires a proper NavMesh, an improperly synched NavMesh can cause the Atronach to spawn inside the object which cancels the summon (though you still burn the magicka).
Well guys, my girlfriend just broke up with me literally minutes ago but it's okay. I have Jon to cheer me up. Thank you Jon for the entertainment and joy you bring every time you post a video. I really appreciate it.
Jon is so deliciously evil and cruel when it comes to informing people about the deaths of loved ones. IIRC it started in Fallout 3 Kill Everything, or atleast that's when it started to catch on. It's brilliant, I love it.
"We're going to look at the DLC's shortly" -- oh man. I can already hear Jon's commentary on the ridiculous plotline of Dawnguard, especially if he tries to play a vampire hunter.
Oh okay. I've watched the entire series but I'd forgotten he'd said that. To be fair, if he goes for the vampire option, at least the plotline will make marginally more sense. My first venture into Dawnguard was as a vampire hunter, and the inconsistencies drove me nuts. Never did finish it either -- I gave up on it during the Soul Cairn.
Paul Solis I did not, I was just so done with the entire DLC by that point, and I already knew the story would be pretty much the same anyway. I played through the Dragonborn DLC instead. That was a much better experience.
Hello Jon, if u head back to dragon's reach and look where I told you to find the aetherium wars, their are also two more books that start quests, lost legends and red eagle which you already found and did u know the fire, frost and lightning skills in the destruction tree add to power of the weapon enchantments in the enchanting tree. Loving this playthrough by the way, I've even restarted watching it all over again.
Jon, when you get to Riften you should talk to the priests in the temple of Mara to get a permanent 15% magic resistance. Also if you try to sneak in to the temple of Dibella and get caught they'll give you a quest for Skyrim's version of The black widow perk.
If you sneak or run past all the Mistwatch bandits, then speak to their leader, they will no longer be hostile to you. Unless, of course, you kill her. Also, that's my favorite giant in the game. He evidently is mourning the loss of his mammoth. You can stand right next to him, and he just ignores you.
I wonder if the bouncer went hostile because you ran up to him with your weapon drawn? I've noticed walking around with my weapons out can cause some issues.
I was really hoping that Jon was going to take a hit from the Butcher there, just to see whether he would be able to tank it (in my last run, where I was running with no companions, I died to the Butcher about 10 times before I finally realized I could lure him all the way to the Imperial camp on the next hill over. And even then, he managed to kill about half the camp.
I again highly recommend you pick up the wrapping that has the enchantment for fiery soul trap. combine that with the black star and everything will stay full forever. also, probably the mod that makes it so you don't fill up soul greens with the wrong size.
I loved the Ebony Mail on companions. Deals poison on everyone they fight and has a cool effect when they sneak. I didn't find that it bugged out on townsfolk at all. Also, you should totally do the Dragonborn dlc. I found a pair of boots that let you walk on water and they are hilarious.
Learn the Muffle enchantment so that you can place the permanent Muffle effect on his boots. Check all vendors for any footwear with the Muffle enchantment.
I've fought Miraak about twelve times and never encountered the glitch myself. Granted all but two of those fights by the time I got to him I was so overpowered it was trivial.
I was god like, every dagger hit was a certified legendary dragon kill so when I fought him when he absorbed a dragon soul it didn't refill his health all the way so he stayed ethereal, that's the glitch you speak of I suppose
Love it when npcs send thugs after you. Stole a dagger by mistake at Adrianne Avenicci's place, 2 days pass, then 4 burly nords wants a chat with me infront of her store and she acts like nothing 👏👏 even though her name was on the note...
Jon said Benor 86 times in this part making the Benor counter at 1191.
22:44 he must've gotten half of the Benors then 😂
Hearing bandits say things like "...might pay off my bounty this time... walk into the city a free man..." always makes me feel bad for killing them.

Stormageddon: The mastermind.
Benor: The Hercules of Skyrim.
Jon: Um... she's pretty?
Jon just makes them feel good inside :)
Jon: The Healer NPC that occasionally brings back dead people to fight along side the great and mighty Benor, as well as repeatedly releases Stormageddon onto the world.
I also killed Boethiah's champion by myself. And Malyn Varen. Screw. You.
And how often were you internally screaming for Benor and/or resetting the timeline during that?
Not even that pretty. She's got a dead eye.

that's ridiculous. It would obviously be called Many A True Nord.

Yes, Jon. The person with pointy ears, red eyes, and near jet black skin is an Orc.
Never change, please.
This Skyrim playthrough gives me a raging Benor.

Marcus Smith there is a mod its called immersive skyrim or something like that it adds like 48 different factions you can join
The base game already has brawling. It seems pretty lazy to not use that mechanic for a proper arena.

We'd all die of alcohol poisoning before the end of the episode!
Someone would most definitely die at 22:40
VictoryOverSelf episode starts we are dead
Gotta love the fact that one second Jon runs to Benor every time anyone looks at him funny-- The next second? He shouts him off a ramp.
Jon is a true tsundere of the Benor Show.

JUST MARRY BENOR ALREADY!!!
What if Benor refuses marriage? If Jon ever even puts on an amulet of Mara
Riften is the new Ivarstead. Jon will never ever get there ;)
Well, Riften is also somewhat near Ivarstead... could it be the southeast corner of Skyrim that is the problem here?
I love how Jon claims he is Beyond Good and Evil and yet is disgusted by the Ebony Mail.
"somehow she died" jon you sacrificed her to boethia, got her possessed and then her reanimated corpse fought 6 cultists.
CoolDrify and that's the "somehow"

Skyrim your way up

Many a True Nerd.
The Black Star will also capture Elves, Orcs, Khajit, and Argonians, just like any black soul gem.
Is someone rushing to Riften to get married?
ah classic Jon, sneaking around with a floating light hovering above his head that follows him wherever he goes.
Stop, Ebony Mail is armor that levels with you and does poison damage when near enemies and light armor sneak capabilities

Jon if you want a standing stone for defense, the Lord Stone is by far the best.

the path up to northwind summit is through the northwind mine. The mine is a little up the hill from the wolf fighting club.
Finally, back to Benor. Last episode gave me flashbacks to Clara. One companion episode per series is enough.
The part that sucks about the black star is you need the genuine star in order to get the Oblivion Walker achievement.
Jon, if you ever do actually make it to Riften, that pit fighting ring/ skooma den is involved with a quest down on the docks there.
Jon, there is no "other ebony mail" it's a unique item.
He was most likely referring to an Ebony chest piece, but had Ebony Mail on the mind, and said that instead.
We will reach -Ivarstead- Riften eventually!
I love how the nordic carved armor makes it look like Benor's wearing fishnet leggings.
I love the ebony mail. I bet I've been wearing it for 40 levels

The restoration perk that makes healing restore stamina as well? That works on _Benor's_ stamina as well.
Mr Numbers Jon does seem to admire Benor's stamina.

"Why are you going after me?"
"We're going to look at the DLC's shortly" -- oh man. I can already hear Jon's commentary on the ridiculous plotline of Dawnguard, especially if he tries to play a vampire hunter.
NEVER. Count Joncula must become canon.
Cyssane earlier in the series he said he will be a vampirelord but he may have changed his mind
Oh okay. I've watched the entire series but I'd forgotten he'd said that. To be fair, if he goes for the vampire option, at least the plotline will make marginally more sense. Hi Jon, Thanks for making great videos!
Hi, Video, thanks for making great jons!
Actually.. summoning them further away allows you to place them behind an enemy and make a Atronach and Benor sandwich.
I suggest Frosty.
"let's just ice him..." I had no idea Jon was a 50s mob boss
I lol’d so hard at Benors face during the armor switch-over... XD
I hear that the Quiet Casting perk affects shouts.
Can u please get benor a decent helmet, he looks a bit dorky at the mo
Hello Jon, if u head back to dragon's reach and look where I told you to find the aetherium wars, their are also two more books that start quests, lost legends and red eagle which you already found and did u know the fire, frost and lightning skills in the destruction tree add to power of the weapon enchantments in the enchanting tree. Loving this playthrough by the way, I've even restarted watching it all over again.
12:12 was the best part. Absolutely defeated by that little girl and it cracked me up
thats is the only ebony mail armour u can get
I think we need someone to keep a "Bloody" counter. Just now realized how often Jon says it.
Jon - You need to get and power up the Ebony Blade from Whiterun for Benor! He would literally heal himself! Talk to the Jarl's bratty kid :-)
Jon, when you get to Riften you should talk to the priests in the temple of Mara to get a permanent 15% magic resistance. Also if you try to sneak in to the temple of Dibella and get caught they'll give you a quest for Skyrim's version of The black widow perk.
I wonder if the "leech life" enchantment on Benor's weapon might help him last a bit longer when he goes running off to fight things
Jon's only regret was not casting soul trap during the sacrifice.
Nimno74 he doesn't really ignore you . He will stare are you but won't bother because he is focused on his pets dead
don't use the atro stone it absorbs your summoned allies for some reason
I wonder if the bouncer went hostile because you ran up to him with your weapon drawn?
I've noticed walking around with my weapons out can cause some issues.
12:50 Beyond Good & Evil Playthrough soon?
I was really hoping that Jon was going to take a hit from the Butcher there, just to see whether he would be able to tank it (in my last run, where I was running with no companions, I died to the Butcher about 10 times before I finally realized I could lure him all the way to the Imperial camp on the next hill over. And even then, he managed to kill about half the camp.
Paidraig I just frenzied him into killing everyone else, then calmed him and did a x12 backstab over and over
I again highly recommend you pick up the wrapping that has the enchantment for fiery soul trap. combine that with the black star and everything will stay full forever. also, probably the mod that makes it so you don't fill up soul greens with the wrong size.
Actually Jon, the giant you passed at the hot springs is a set event, and is never hostile
Jon, there was a chessboard and a harmonica behind the bouncer.
great video Jon
I loved the Ebony Mail on companions. Deals poison on everyone they fight and has a cool effect when they sneak. I didn't find that it bugged out on townsfolk at all.
Also, you should totally do the Dragonborn dlc. I found a pair of boots that let you walk on water and they are hilarious.
Someone needs to make a counter that counts how many times MATN stretches out the end of a word.
The gambling and drug pit is part of a quest in Riften.
Skyrim Part 3,000: Returning to the main story.
same problem with the robot races in fallout 4, yeah I would of liked the option to gamble
So Jpon didn't bother going back for the Ebony helm.
Ugh this dude has the cutest voice ever
You're going to have trouble summoning using the atronach stone
Bloody bloody bloody
Oh my gosh, I got here within a minute. Finally, a MATN video unsullied by comments spoilers!
Man you're going to hate when Jon accidentally kills Benor lol
You could just read the comments after the video...
You will at some point finish this video.
Learn the Muffle enchantment so that you can place the permanent Muffle effect on his boots. Check all vendors for any footwear with the Muffle enchantment.
Jon, are you going to buy any of the houses and build them up? Feel that will play into your megalomania when dragons randomly attack your house.
Always look forward to these so much. Just always wish they were about two hours each😔
3:55 Hey look, it's Stiv as an Nord
Jon! You've encountered a glitch, the quest that gave you the ebony mail should've given you an ebony helmet too..
Mathijs Romeijn the helmet was in a chest. i do not think he grabbed it though.
Woooooooo Benor's back the series wasn't the same without him
Jon, if you do the DLC's do Dawnguard first. It's generally easier than Dragonborn and I think Soul Rend will be your new favorite shout
Not even mentioning that Miraak is probably the "glitchiest" boss in the game.
cartermariano I could never kill him, for some reason every play through I did ended with Miraak just laughing at me while being etherial forever
Yeah, took me a while to find out that was a glitch and how to solve it.
5:40 -Inside Benor's mind: O dear he's ranting again and acting superior.
Axe him? nah.
Fun fact- The giant you passed will not attack you if you do not attack it, as its mourning the death of his mammoth
Love it when npcs send thugs after you. Stole a dagger by mistake at Adrianne Avenicci's place, 2 days pass, then 4 burly nords wants a chat with me infront of her store and she acts like nothing 👏👏 even though her name was on the note...
