Filmed with Contour cameras, Scott Travis drum solo with the Painkiller Intro live at Concord, Ca on 10/27/2011. Anyone notice Racer X Scarified tossed in?
Man...this guy is just something else.My favorite drummer alongside Nicko McBrain. I got lucky enough to catch his drum stick at a concert. I cherish it everyday! haha
You are blessed! So fortunate! and Nicko is my favorite too. Scott Travis-Nicko McBrain-Ian Paice-Mick Dee-Troy Lucketta-Tommy Aldridge-Randy Castillo-Steven Adler-Matt Sorum-Jonathan Sugarfoot-Joey Kramer-John Bonham! My all time favorite list!
theirs no other drummer who does this style of drumming as good as mr travis his consistency and endurance is unreal especially as he aint no tapper ' he's a legend super tight always solid great drummer!
Just started hearing Racing X, and I did notice you playing scarified for your drum solo! Man, Scott you are the reason why I play the drums. Keep up the good work.
Scott grew up in Norfolk. He jammed with other local dudes in a garage around the block from me. He went to LA and was in Racer X. He grew up on Priest. Then he got the gig. Local boy done good. Bought his mom a house in Va. Beach. Really nice guy.
hi scott; i loved your performance in katowice(poland)last saturday; your solo was brilliant too, what i like most is that you always play it in a different way:) and your speech to the audience was a very nice gesture, thanks for this;) cheers!
Its totally amazing to me how easy he makes it look. But there ain't nothing easy about it. I don't know if he's the best drummer in the world, but he's definitely one of my favorite drummers. Your awesome!!!
Un maestro absoluto!! Ejemplo para todas las generaciones futuras!! Un absoluto dominio del tiempo, fraseos, stickings, rítmica y un buen gusto prodigioso para sus composiciones. Mi más sincera admiración!
FOR ME THERE IS NO OTHER DRUM WHO CAN PLAY SOOO FUCKING BADASS DRUMS AND LOOKS SOOO CHILLED !!!! SCOTT YOU ARE THE BEST DRUMMER IN THIS WORLDS HISTORY FOR ME !!!
Crazy to finally find somebody that has two highhats that have them up that high on the stand....so much more comfortable! other drummers should do that....
Saw Priest live in Atlanta, GA in October of 2014 with Steel Panther (great band too, btw). AMAZING concert, all the band members still sound very, very solid, not one bit of wear and tear in any of them. Was VERY, VERY disappointed that they did not play Painkiller though. Anyone know why they did not have it on their setlist for the, or at least part of the Redeemer of Souls tour?
I know Judas’ music doesn’t call for a tambourine at all but I gotta ask, why is it so high up and so far back? Is it just to keep it out of your way? Keep rockin’ 🤘🏻🤘🏻
The drumbeat in 1:10 it's from "Scarified". I love this rhythm!! Judas Priest fucking rules man. You are my favourite band and my dream was seeing you in "A Coruña" the lasta 29th July. Metald Gods \m/ !!!!!
I have the same. I had to modify own hihat stand with longer tubes and rod to get it higher than most normal stands allows. Its just nice to have free space when cross-hand playing (I prefer playing the aux-hihat on ride side :) hehe)
By far, one of the most underrated yet talented drummers out there.
aoz823 Eh idk about that, I've been listening to a few songs and I'm so far not impressed...
Taylor youre smoking crack or something sir Scott Travis is king
He's an amazing classic rock/metal drummer but from technical perspective he completely pales against guys like Les Binks who is truly underrated.
Listen some more....idiot
Lars ulrich is better
1:12 that smile on "Scarified" is pure gold
You can tell he misses playing in Racer X
This guy is a monster. Painkiller is one of those things that any serious drummer must play, and it's instantly recognized anywhere.
I remember the Racer X days.. Top drummer on the scene..still is one of the best. That's why he has his gig...He earned it..
Yeah
I listened to Priest’s later stuff and Racer X a lot growing up, and I had no idea it was the same guy.
Definitely need some parts to show the feet. The blistering double bass is what makes the intro work.
I actually did....but the battery went dead unfortunately.
Especially since he uses double bass for the entire song.
Yep.
@@zublacus As a drummer myself, I'd love to see Scott's feet during the entire song, just to watch his technique, his double bass control is amazing.
@@MrPercussionPete I have years worth, I'll see what I can do.
Man...this guy is just something else.My favorite drummer alongside Nicko McBrain. I got lucky enough to catch his drum stick at a concert. I cherish it everyday! haha
yes for Nicko McBrain.
Me too! I got the one from the September 9th Virginia Beach hometown show this year! It’s framed!
lol that smile at 1:11 when he play scarified
I still play that to keep it going.just love Scott to death.monstet drummer.
I was at this show and he's on another level. There's no drummer alive who plays as relaxed while hitting as HARD as he does at the same time.
So awesome to watch. I will never forget the first time I heard that intro to Painkiller...absolutely one of a kind never gets old.
Every drumsolo i do has that painkiller intro, IT'S MY FAVORITE DRUM INTRO! lol
The greatest drummer of all time... Painkiller intro has no equal.
T Me Danny Carey
Not only great Drummer but great dude. Had a chance to hang with him for an evening and he's just a very cool guy.
Anyone else notice the Scarified intro lol
Love the intro to Painkiller, but the fills in the song are what makes it great. Scott's the man.
theirs no other drummer who does this style of drumming as good as mr travis his consistency and endurance is unreal especially as he aint no tapper ' he's a legend super tight always solid great drummer!
The Intro on the Intro!!! 👏 \m/
Just started hearing Racing X, and I did notice you playing scarified for your drum solo! Man, Scott you are the reason why I play the drums. Keep up the good work.
Ahhh... here's the set of vids with the cameras nestled nicely into the kit.
Thanks for sharing!
1:08 it's a part of scarified by racer x :)
This genius makes that look so easy...and it isn't as I am trying to nail that Painkiller intro. It's superb in every way!
makes it look so easy .. a fantastic drummer who should be in the metal drummers hall of fame for sure

We can't duly appreciate the drummer, who made Painkiller happen. And I mean the whole album.
Love this guy. The story of how he got the gig is the best. Talk about working hard for what you want in life.

Its totally amazing to me how easy he makes it look. But there ain't nothing easy about it.

I like the way he has his h hats at about chin level. Ergonomics?
I have the same. I had to modify own hihat stand with longer tubes and rod to get it higher than most normal stands allows.
