Before it was called “popping swing”, it was a useful peeking tool for specific situations back in CS. In Val is applied the same way, but since POPPIN started to make it viral on tiktok we think is some sort of fancy disrespect. Imo he meant no disrespect :P
It's just genuinely useful for him. If you watch closely, he used wide swings like that a lot in this tournament to catch people off guard, which is smart because a lot of the opponents he was up against are a lot more mechanically skilled than he is. A normal peek or swing would not be favorable to him against someone like T3xture or f0rsaken or Less, who would out-duel him pretty much every time.
Even if he dies, he is more likely to draw the opponent's crosshair away from the angle long enough for a teammate to trade. That's exactly what happened in that clip, with TenZ getting the kill while the opponent was occupied, Zellsis just didn't die. When people talk about "good spacing" in terms of trades, that's what they're talking about

but every team needs a zellsis man. At first I thought he was just a hypeman in the team (not talking about his skills because he's a pro so he's nuts obviously) but when I saw a clip of him talking about how he is so vocal in the team like pointing out mistakes with the intention of being better. He reminded me of Jimmy Butler's work ethics and honestly respectable. Every team in general needs a guy like that.

TMV fans are as blind as SEN stans if they disagree with this. TMV was biased af and was simply a hindsight harry in the streams, especially during the PRX and GenG games. Felt bad for PRX with the way he was nitpicking every detail.

Yeah thats the biggest issue with tmv, he will absolutely criticize and berate players and the map pool of sentinels and then claim he has been supporting them the whole time. He has atleast 3-4 videos in the past 2 months talking about how sentinels are overrated and not doing anything special but then they win madrid, including at a map disadvantage, which is crazy considering their supposed bad map pool.....
@@braedenc9904Honestly Gen G could have closed it 3-0 if they didn’t throw Bind. Split was a 50/50 cause Sen just had a bad game on the upper bracket. And GenG’s Icebox was deff bad, they played it horribly against EDG, and remember EDG got like 13-3d vs Loud on that map. He was right on the map pool take, but incorrect on how good they were in comparison with the rest of the teams.
@mlq749 but GenG didn't, same could be said for many series that have happened, GenG didn't throw bind either, it was sentinels who almost threw bind when they where up 11-8 or so, and then GenG started winning rounds again. To say GenG could've won 3-0 in the series is once again being dismissive to how sentinels didn't get to play there best maps which in turn could imply across playing all 7 maps sen would've won 5-2. The biggest deal is how a 5 - 2 map advantage doesn't seem like enough for whatever reason to TMV
@@braedenc9904 I said they should’ve. They didn’t cause SEN did good and cause they did not win Split or Bind. SEN is deff ahead of the competition, I literally said it, I’m not dismissing them. But he was not wrong on the map Pool take, the thing is that TMB did not take into account 2 wins can’t count as “good” maps for the other teams he was putting as an example. Like the match was a core of 3 experienced players for 1 year vs a recent team, even with a veto advantage SEN always knows how to step up. SEN Have proved they are the best, but they must keep perfecting the rest of the maps before rookie and inexperienced teams start to catch up.
