It’s proplay. There’s antistrats but there are also improvisations. Regardless of how much you try to counter the yoru , you can still get outplayed because that’s how your works

If you watch NRG stream, they hinted it was going to be a crazy one that Sentinels will clear cause when they scrim it took them by surprise. On top of that, ever wonder why Sentinels recent montage was with Yoru? Even they leaked it beforehand

I think it's so cool that PRX's off-meta comp of pairing Reyna and Skye together for flash-layering micro plays has inspired teams to try out all sorts of different flash combos. The viewing experience is particularly fun when you see teams that have been clearly cooking something up show off the little set plays/combos they've prepared, and the Yoru-Skye double pop-flash combo was one of those sick moments to witness. Even if PRX aren't the ones who "invented" flash-layering, they still deserve credit for capitalizing on the strengths of such a previously-underused tactic and bringing it to the forefront of everyone's minds. If they hadn't shown how much value they could find by simply layering Reyna's and Skye's flashes, I highly doubt we would've seen this banger of a game with mirrored Yoru comps, SEN's double pop-flash, or even 100T attempt to make Omen work on Pearl by layering his Paranoia with Skye's flash. Sad to see 100T go, but I honestly can't wait to see what more SEN has in store in terms of PRX-esque plays and comps. If there's any team in the Americas that could genuinely thrive off a PRX-like play style and find their niche, I think it's this iteration of SEN.
One fatal mistake here from 100T is they only have Yoru as the sole duelist , it doesn't work like that. Yoru isnt designed to be a pure duelist who can solo entry or self sufficient. He's more of "team-centered/team-based" duelist if that make sense or for an easier concept he's more of a Duelist/Initiator hybrid not a pure entry Duelist. Even PRX would still put Raze as the true entry duelist. Edit : what I mean entry is jump/push out to take space and map control. I don't know the terms in defense side but you certainly do it some if not most of the time. Example when you retake or in post plant situation, the role is swap and the defender must take the iniatiave to make the first move generally. Or when you fast pushing one area of map to gain fast map control like when we see SEN doing in B long with Yoru. So many times Tenz Yoru ultility and ult find value case Zekken can scale up contrary to Asuna and Cryo's chamber. Just look at the highlight of both Your's ult usage and the value difference they have cause the Raze/Chamber comp difference.

The maps Sentinels won were also maps where Pancada was controller. It makes such a difference and it is such a waste that he is put on Killjoy. This game I saw Sentinels play to their strengths.

Pancada wasn't main controller on the 2 maps they won. He played Viper who doubles as controller and sentinel, primarily the latter if the comp doesn't have a sentinel.
This was the best encounter of the year. Nobody expected Asuna to pick Yoru and even less people expecte TenZ to go Yoru himself. 2 very close maps and then 100T get obliterated on Bind in such a spectacular fashion.
@@kev4065 yeah, they fumbled the bag on Pearl. I noticed that Marved wasn't up to his usual lurks to get the necessary impacts that has on learns, like taking up space and possibly finding a kill. Although, he did have a lot of impact without it, had he just lurked for a few rounds, that would have made 100T play differently as they would have this thought in the back of their heads that Marved is possibly lurking somewhere.
i think its a close game if sen dont go with yoru, but because tenz knows yoru so well and has such a good understanding (and can then relay that to the coaches and teammates) of how he is played, that made the difference in bind

Simply a comp diff, if either the chamber or the yoru switch for raze the comp wouldve been better... 100t simply lack the utility to stall a plant hence opted to push for map control with aggresion , which SEN red and abuse
Tenz Yoru was sick. Sen clearly had a plan. But I gotta say, despite running Yoru themselves, 100T look absolutely CLUELESS in some of these rounds. Just to illustrate how much more Sen clearly *understands* Yoru in general.
Sentinels still don’t really play well as a team. Everyone knows their roles but their game is still basic they just rely on better at duels still but atleast they look more organized and tenz is better. They lack those organized team plays I see from other teams to win hard rounds
There was also a round in showers where tenz uses a clone going into showers and lines up himself with the clone while peeking showers and kills cryo because he hits the clone instead of tenz
i still think yoru is one of the most op agents but he requires a lot of creativity and it's just like why bother when you can get instant value out of something else. if tenz sticks with yoru on more maps it could really show it off
The other problem is that he gets predictable over time so you have to keep getting creative, and it's hard be consistent with him like that in the long term

Team comp aside, Tenz has way more experience on yoru and it shows in this match. Some of the best yoru plays I have ever seen. Such a fun match to watch.
PRX popularized yoru comp on bind. Double dive had also been quite meta for some time now. Maybe it was a coincidence then since yoru has been off-meta and saw 0% pickrate during master's tokyo. Sen and 100T took this as a chance to play off of Yoru's strength which is his surprise factor.
I been said Yoru would be great in pro play. Just his ability to be on two sides of the map instantaneously all while giving incredible intel with his clone and his ult in itself is HUGE. I'll never get it. Tenz even said on stream in the past that he believes Yoru works in Pro Play but it's his team that is against it.
5:55 it's a bug in patch 7.0 We just haven't seen it yet because the other tournaments were played on 6.12 It happens on sova drones, Skye dogs, killjoy Alarmbots among other things. Nothing to do about it, rather funny bug

With the two Brazilian players, I did NOT expect SEN to ever look this coordinated. The flash timings and trades were just perfect. GG’s to 100T though, I hope Nadeshot doesn’t go too hard on them 😂😂😂.

Yeah it’s pretty good. My only problem is with Jimmy’s IGL’ing (do not blame him. He’s basically just done this for a bit but it’s not amazing), especially on Pearl. He seems to have gotten it together on the later maps but that’s on attack. On defense they seem to be doing much better
@@imperialgo5331 6 months is definitely enough to learn basic sentences especially ingame comms, its not that hard as learning to get a degree of something. You dont need complex vocabs or grammars when playing video games

With both sacy and pancada having played for LOUD and comming in portugese, they quite literally would have to rewrite their instincts, which isn't exactly easy

Yeah, Zekken was frying in all maps. Tenz on Kayo was of course not as flashy, but Bind was wonderfully coordinated by both of them

Only map 1 (Pearl) was close. I guess you can argue map 2 (Split) first half was close, but it ended the same way as map 3 (Bind).... 13-7.

This. Not sure if this was deliberate but the clone pretty much acted like a sponge and pretty much gave tenz the opportunity to avoid a trade
