This entire series was basically NRG forgetting how to play pro VALORANT. Kinda surprised they even got 4 rounds on either map.

@@cloudyskyz2237 They honestly should have gotten 13-0'd, LEV just got unlucky in round 12 and ran out of time, had they just pushed through the smokes and combated the weaker weapons, they would have won that round easily, especially because NRG's mental was basically underground at that point.
They looked so clueless the whole game and you could tell their confidence was shattered, definitely did not look like the NRG we saw in previous games.
Also demon1 on raze definitely dosent look good, although he managed to pull it off against LOUD it wasnt because of util but just aim diffing everyone. Today he it seemed like he just died before even being able to take a gunfight

@gpfhantom1890 Yeah the execs looked like ranked execs, util was very lacking and it just looked like they were sending demon1 to his death every round, cant even remember a round where he could even take an actual gunfight without getting fucked as soon as he was on site LOL, not to mention LEV were insane today both mechanically and with their utils

I had a lot of questions with Ethan IGLing and I think those questions are being answered. The entire series was basically punctuated by Leviatan being able to read them like a book and always be at the right place at the right time and with minimal effort expended. All of this shift walking and dry peaking is very indicative of someone stuck in a CS mindset, at least in regards to calling. Valorant isnt that game.
True felt that way to me too... FNS was giving better calls from the stream as well. Nothing to take away from Ethan but maybe he's not as good on being an IGL as everyone thought he'd be.
For me it goes back even further. Ethan was a big reason the original 100t roster fell apart with steel as IGL. Say what you will about Steel, but the man absolutely knows his shit. A play like the one at 28:00 would unequivocally NEVER HAPPEN if that was Steel. He would yell at anyone who was thinking that little about their utility usage. So yeah, I'm wondering if Ethan finally figured out that the whole IGL thing isn't so easy. All the shift walking around speaks to paralysis by analysis
Yea i feel that too. IDK why Ethan calls sometimes feels so odd. Walking, no util usage, and can't counter enemy aggression. Watching NRG vs LEV match makes me feel NRG "might" lose Play-off. We need Pujan IGL
Hearing fns glaze nrg like crazy, I actually had very high hopes that maybe even if ethan struggles their experience shines and they can mid round very well. Turns out, not everyone is prx

nrg setups are literally "ethan flash for demon1 and you 3 do what you want". or on often occasions "marved go solo somewhere"
Yeah... I get it, d1 and ethan were already playing together in EG, they get along well and have good cordination with each other, but you really need to integrate the whole team. Lev had a hard time mixing aspas/c0m and aspas/tex together, but they kept drilling and now they tag team all the time flawlessly. Aspas can tag team with anyone in lev pretty much depending where he is in the map. It seems ethan is just setting up d1 and d1 only plays with ethan, otherwise he's completely discombobulated. Even sometimes ethan and d1 won't get it right like d1 already in site with ult and only then ethan is knifing his own teammate space lol.
I guess it's impossible to predict a raze who never satchels in. It happens me in soloq in shit elo when I have a teammate raze who doesn't satchel, it's a nightmare to coordinate anything.
There defaults really came out this way. And when they play tight and together they lose hard because most of the time marved and vics lurk is so needed. I can seriously feel the impact of not having a world class igl in a super team. They lost any conditionings to a site which fns was heavy on when he was at nrg.

NRG should learn from this series that :
1. Ethan as an igl is not that good, I THINK the reason why they are shiftwalking a lot is becase he cant think and call on fast tempo
2. Put Victor on raze and demon1 on astra (not omen cuz he cant)/brim(bind) if they are playing on raze map (bind, split, sunset, lotus) cuz my god his raze mechanic is even worse than yay

Its just a real problem that vic imo isnt a very impactful raze compared to aspas zekken etc. I mean hes good. But he cant be the same level as those mentioned, no wonder they put demon1 at raze… but yea it aint working out. For ethan.. i think hes a good midrounder along with vic crashies and marved. But they lack the ingenuity and the creativeness of top igls in america like johnqt fns and even boostio. It also comes down with the team identity imo. NRG/optic core has this identity of being thorough, being super drilled with map controls, taking things slow, and getting map controls most of the time for marved (actually anyone) can find lurk timings. Thats why their breeze is pretty good too due to this slow and thorough playstyle. They need to rework this as a team imo. That raze problem is just a big idk imo idk how theyll fix it cuz its so much of a problem. (Arguably jawgemos raze is up there compared to vics raze imo)

ong discipline might be a problem in this team, two people just won champions and the rest of the three are winners of masters, slowly their being humbled which is good for the team they need to realise they arent a champion roster but just champion players.

I dont get why Demon1 isn't on Brim/Astra/Jett and Vic isn't on Raze, this system worked so well for EG. I think Vic could take the role jawgemo played except it's Sentinel instead of smokes+Raze. And then Marved can play primary controller or Viper
Yea it's really concerning why they not put D1 on Jett or crazy stats Double Duelist, Victor Raze . Instead they kept making D1 debuting on Raze, im so lost can't say anything.

I think its easy for NRG to chalk it up to them having a really bad day- which is something that this core has done often (think early match losses at masters with old optic core), but I think this match is definitely more indictive of larger problems, especially when it comes to the calling style of Ethan and duelist style of demon1, which are both suited more towards Jett maps. I think maybe having Vic on raze would help some of these issues, but Ethan's calling should be questioned here. He has pretty much kept the same style of igling, which is slow map control to oblivious site hits but NRG has been saved by players performing well and winning round that they are in disadvantages- up until this point.

Great breakdown, i was so confused seeing NRG play man. Victor dying to his ult was the icing on the cake and from that point it was just gg, i imagine they crumbled mentally after that.

yes that is also ranked teammate plays 4:28 peek, give info we rotate/exec a site then play really slow so the enemy can rotate 1st... then go in when the enemy have players on site to defend

I think the justification behind the pushes on round 11 (7:03) were that
1. Demon1 and Ethan are expecting a solo hold from elbow so they focus on that while completely disregarding the left side.
2. Since there were 2 people A main the rest thinks they're fighting for it or are stacked A so they expect the rest to be weak (LEV is just passively holding with two people)
3. Cypher tries to find space B after 2 teammates died but doesn't know about cam.
All og these had some "sense" behind it but were so uncoordinated and the gameplan on its own made no sense either.
I think we all learned from this video that if you ever let the enemy know where you are, just stop slow walking and full send it
My prayers have been answered,nrgs downfall is like food for me. I knew ethan was gonna be an ass igl,cuz hes a cs player that never igld at a good lvl.I knew theyd struggle managing d1,cuz he cant play brim and astra on every map anymore,so theyd either force sentinel, force omen or force raze,n they picked the worst option, cuz u really cant have a dogshit raze in this meta. And tbh i also thought crashies and marved were pretty mid as players,but thats not a good argument so ill let my bias chill out.
Would agree with most of it except for vic and crashies being mid. Its just theyre the type of players who work behind the scenes and we would forget about em when we get the w. Remember last years nrg at champ. Vic and crashies stepped up. Theyre deffo not top 1 but imo they need that yay factor(lack of terms mb) for them to shine. Ethans igling needs work. Badly.

Demon1 doesnt have a sens fast enough for raze. If you have that slow of a sens, you cant do things like side sachels.or sachels to make enemies move to break their crosshair placement.

Demon1 played a great Brimstone by the end of last year on Fracture, and Victor has always been at least decent at Raze (especially compared to Demon1's abysmal performance). Seems like a role swap is imminent after that Bind map.
Honestly their Sunset got heavy antistrated and it shows that Ethan as an igl isn't able to adapt, while their Bind has like zero practice from what I saw.
For me the main issue i saw on this game was the IGL on NRG, was Ethan or Marved? bad calls every round, they send demon1 to do the entry against 4 or 5 every time on attack. And second, Chet fall in the trap of playing on raze maps when Demon1 is not a raze player , they should have picked a jett map as their first map pick.
On bind I really didn't understand why they tried to force Demon1 on raze, especially when Victor is a great raze player with good satchel movement, and Demon1 was also KNOWN TO PLAY BRIM ON EG. He could definitely have played brim here. On sunset they could run demon1 on chamber and victor on raze.
I'm just telling you the 1st game in a long while I haven't seen NRG live and they do this. They need my great support!
Reason they keep contacting is demon1 is on a low ass sens. Go try play with his sens. You’d want to contact up and get 50/50 gun fights too. It’s also why he dont satchel in and looks like he’s stuck in a mud when opping.

In VCT Champions 2023, demon1 was Chamber on almost all Bind matches, why not just do that? It seemed to work out for them just fine.

Theres a really wide margin between ethan and world class igls tbh. Sure puchan has one of the weakest frag potentials. He still got his use with how good his calls are. Honestly johnqt is such a good example of a fragging proactive igl. (Would like to bring up boostio before kick offs but eh he fell off afterwards)

He doesn't play raze. He plays like a CS player who buys a frag every round. His raze was never good, he just shot well enough to cover it up in their previous games.
What’s crazy to me is even I, someone whos never watched vct before, could tell how badly NRG were playing. My valorant knowledge goes so far as the tier 2 league last year and the silver to plat lobbies the streamers I watch play in. I don’t even play the goddamn game. But watching this game live (and I’ll throw in the split game against mibr in there too because WOOF even the commentators said NRG were relying on their aim to win) was just horrendous like I SHOULDNT RECOGNIZE YOUR GAMEPLAY I ONLY WATCH RANKED GAMES WHAT IS HAPPENING OVER THERE???

Not NRG fan and I’m boiling, the NRG fans must already be plasma or near fusion because this is almost inexcusable. NRG have fns previously and this 100% will not happen with him. It’s feels like King’s Avatar novel not gonna lie.
The problem with nrg is that Demon1 is not made for raze, but they build around demon 1 so they end up kinda fumbling everywhere because Demon1 would work better on jett or someone who can get 1 or 2 then get out instantly.
