Sang this with my women's choir in college. It was my favorite song that season, and it's beauty has stuck with me for years after.
This is absolutely beautiful Melody Myers. Your voice is truly a gift from God. Keep singing as your voice will bring joy to many hearts!!!!!
This is just ethereal -- I have been lucky enough to sing this twice, and it speaks to my soul...You did an incredible job on this piece.

Beautiful! Your name couldn't be better chosen. Lovely work from the pianist too, and kudos to you also for combining the piano and voice parts so perfectly! I loved the story of the White Seal when I read it, and outright screamed in delight when I discovered that Eric Whitacre had set it to music -- because someone had to, and the setting couldn't be more lovely! Thank you for sharing.

This is so beautiful! I absolutely love it! It takes tons of skill to be able to sing an alto 2, and a soprano 1! I sing along with the Soprano 2 and try the soprano 1... You are so talented! Keep singing!

I'm already crying right now. My class and I sung this for one of our concerts in highschool and it has remained as one of my favorites since then.

I cannot get enough of this song! Our Women's Trio is doing this for Mother's Day this year, and I am in love with this piece. The suspensions, the gently rocking rhythm, the feeling of sliding down waves.... I have synesthesia, and this song is the palest yellow-green, with occasional blue gold flecks -- it tastes like the perfect Key-lime pie, with a margarita chaser... I cannot even begin to tell you what a sensory delight this is... Thank you!!!

i really like the overall softness of your performance. not just the volume, but with the consonants as well. it makes it feel more like a lullaby than a choir piece

Just to clarify, Mr Whitacre wrote the music. The poem was written by Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936). Nevertheless, the video is amazing!

I like the velvety sonic texture you've created which just happens to be perfect for this piece. Your control and accuracy are to be admired because I don't think it's that easy to do without talent and training. The collaboration with the piano artist stands up to repeated listening. Haha, well thank you. Oh yes, Julien is not only an amazing vocalist, but a close and great friend of mine :) I will bring it up to him, but I'm not sure if he will have the time to create such a piece with me. No harm in asking though!

I honestly prefer this song SSA as opposed to a co-Ed choir. I think it’s prettier with an all female choir
7 am in 7th grade and i have to sing the soprano 2 version of this for a fancy state wide honor choir *sigh* wish me luck i can't sing high notes (she makes it look easy and by the way she made a mistake where she sang where billow meets billow
