Hi Darren, Thank you for the kind comments you make. All I did with the Odeon Kingston video was to Digitize the file for RUclips, update the credits, use licensed music and add various bits of audio dubbing . I was asked to do this which was really nice. It's a great video of the time. It brought so many memories back for me of when I worked on the Kalee 21's, carbons and 20 minute change-overs.

Hi Tubeie, Thank you for your comment. I agree, the change-over of the projectionist and the coffee shop was spot on.

_"...and the changeover of the projectionist to the coffee shop is also performed smoothly'"_ A wonderful historic time capsule even though originally made as a novelty, superb!

Thanks for the video. I remember the old Odeon Kingston, and watched when it was being demolished. There is a live theatre on the site now, I was working at the Richmond Odeon in the 1960s and we had Kalee 21s with president arcs, we also had magnetic sound head which not at Kingston . Kingston had president arcs with Kalee 20s. Would never strike the arc with the lamphouse door open, and no smoking in the box although at Richmond a projectionist named Peter Ward would smoke a pipe whilst leaning outside the box door which opened on to a roof. Not sure about the finger running onto the film during rewind we only ran the film through fingers either side. There was a cafe near to the Richmond Odeon and we would nip for a cup of tea and bite to eat similar to Kingston, in our case by exiting from on of the circle exits.

Hi reditechman, thank you for your comment. I worked on the full 21's with the elephant foot back in the 60's. We had 4 track mag too. As I never made the 16mm film, I felt it was not my place to cut the smoking scene out, and considering it was 63 years ago when values were different than today. I have often cut cigarette scenes from my own videos. I think having the arc open when he struck up, probably was just for the camera effect. I'm guessing you never noticed that both dowsers were always closed when they were supposed to be on screen, and you can see the spools in the spool boxes are not revolving.. Apart from that, it is a true insight as to how things were back in the 60's. I really liked the video and was pleased to have been involved bringing it to RUclips.

Absolutely no smoking allowed in a projection booth in my day also would never strike the carbo arc up with the side open

Hi glynnphillips853, I think the opening of the Carbon arc was for effect, of course one would never do that in a real situation. The smoking scene I would normally have edited out, but as I never made the 16mm film, and the fact it was from 1960, I chose to let it remain. I really enjoyed being involved bringing it to RUclips.

OOOh, those were the good old days where a projectionist had to work for his money.
