Pete anytime you get bored and want to talk all day ride over to Wake Forest area and come sit on my porch lol.Enjoying your videos learning a lot and hope my yard looks good next year.
Been watching your videos for awhile, whatever you have to say about turf people are going to listen. Your depth of knowledge far exceeds a lot of people tuning into your channel. Don’t shy away from sharing your passion for turf with us just because someone said “you talk too much.” Found your channel about a year ago, and let me just say, my knowledge in commercial lawn maintenance has been rapidly expanded from what I knew and what I’ve been taught from my dad when he had his business. Thank you for that man keep doing what you’re doing.
Pete, I’ve seeded my yard 3 times with your seed. I had two huge washouts early on and now this third time I’m praying for rain. Seeded 12 days ago and haven’t had any rain yet! Pray for some rain in Ohio! Please!
I’ve talked about you and your company to my neighbor so much for the past several years, he has canceled his lawn spray service and is letting me help him with all of the bios and GCI Turf products. He is super stoked, as am I! Happy Sunday, Pete!
I’m 19 years old and I really enjoy every video ,I started a lawn company this year and you teach and motivate me to work and get my business successful like yours . Appreciate you god bless !
Hey brother randy!! Just want to say God bless you and keeps us all in prayer. The Lord has been extremely faithful to me and my family this year, despite the chaos going on around us. Bless you, man.
Nice wheelie on the stander 😊, always great content. 3 weeks ago I did a renovation on my lawn with some Kentucky blue grass. It’s been taking sometime to sprout but I noticed this week it’s starting to take off. Can’t wait to see the results in a few more weeks.... thank you 🇺🇸
Great video! I know overseeding time can be very stressful especially when it’s hard to find time but it feels soo good when that seed comes to life. Thanks for the tips brother!!
Hi Pete... Love the videos and the way you share the knowledge. You're the guy I'm trying to model my lawn after. I got my backyard on track and it looks great but I have a problem with my front yard. I'm struggling with an issue. I did a full overseeding project last weekend with aerate, cut, soil with triple mix, overseed with the types of perennial rye and then starter fertilizer and humic acid treatment. That whole process went well but here's the issue. This week was cooler than expected here in Toronto. No rain. I watered at least twice a day and tried to keep the seeds moist. Unfortunately I haven't had really any growth yet and first is day seven. I'm keeping up the watering but the lawn seems to have slowed down a lot and I am starting to see it browning. I'm worried I'm getting fungus from the over watering but I can't stop because of the seeding. What do I do?
Those are some nice size dog... plugs. I had a service do my yard on Friday. They used a walk behind Stinger. The plugs were about half the size of yours. I use RGS, Humic12 every month, and Soilx spring and fall. I hope over time the compaction is reduced so good plugs are pulled.
Just did my plug n plant with bluegrass seed yesterday and can get about 20-40% water coverage on my half acre plot. Was really worried with the dry spell we’re having that it was gonna be a total failure. I believe they call that fate that 24hrs later you mention watering if you could but it’s still okay to leave it up to Mother Nature so long as you accept it might not be as good as if you watered manually. For that I say thank you Pete and god bless!
Thank you for the video, I did this two weeks ago and put down GCI Cool Blue, I’m extremely happy with the results. Going to stick with your GCI Cool Blue. What I need is a better aerator, rented a Home Depot one and it was not bad but the hill was a monster to deal with. Thanks again
Hey Pete, Im in Charlotte, I watch you and Pauls' Prime cuts all the time. I truly understand what the NC red clay is and love it. Nice videos. One of my annual customers watches your videos and is all into what you are doing and watching from Charlotte. Thought that would make you happy. Keep it up. The stinger wheelie is a helpful thing lol. Im still bound by chains till next cycle if you know what I mean.
I got my stinger aerator in last week absolutely love it! If anybody’s in the market to buy an aerator I highly recommend buying one of the stinger aerator. Worth every penny!
Hey Pete, I'm sure you know but another youtuber by the name of Cole the Cornstar, he's also a god loving youtuber with a great positive outlook used your seed for his yard! You're growing as quick as the seed itself!
Hay Pete need some help did a total renovation have some Perry winkle still left over I Have some 4 speed triclopier will this tack it out with a early December app.and a February !Thank you Pete Lv your help!
Man I wish I had irrigation, just had my lawn renovated, been watering 10,000 sq ft by hand, I'm 5 days in, takes me 1.5 hrs each time watering 2x a day, so I'm 15 hours in lol. Of course it rained all summer, got the lawn reno'd and the forecast was sunny for 10 days straight. I water in the morning, then again in the evening, but it dries out before the evening watering, hope that doesn't screw up my germination. I do see some rye sprouts coming up. I'm 75% tttf and 25% rye. fingers crossed!
Great Vid Mr. Pete! Loved the wheely on the Stinger! Does the stinger have a pressure setting on it for the tines? It would be cool if you could do a vid on the stand on aerators and all the bells and whistles on it. I can rent a Toro stand on locally but I would have No idea what pressure setting to set it on. I like the idea of going in with some friends and neighbors to rent one but I do not know the least bit about them, but I can read a manual, LOL! Appreciate the informational content my friend! As Always, Peace and God's Love to All! Chad Upstate NY
Your Aerating pattern is a good idea with no wasted time between passes. I’ve often heard it referred to as a “Zamboni” pattern. You know, the big ice resurfacing machine used at ice rinks.

I’m hooked on the videos and learning a ton. Thank you for taking the time to make them. I’m growing some of your TTTF right now. Question - If there’s a need and irrigation is in place, can TTTF be established in spring with relative success through the summer heat?
I swung by The Hungry Hussie's house yesterday (check out his vids) and got his tow grass speader he was throwing out. He said this is a good time of year to aerate, seed, I spent my whole summer doing that. Am I still good to go?
I had a local lawn company come aerate my lawn, but they only got 1 inch plugs because our ground has been dry for a bit and no rain for the next 7 days even with me watering it, they did have a ride on and you could tell the pressure was turned up. Hopefully we get some rain I put seed down and its hard to keep it wet because my lawn is 20,000 sqft
Hey Pete if we don’t have the money to rent an aerator what do you recommend we use to aerator our yard PS I have a bunch of Dallas grass I’ve been trying to pick it out I have no clue how to control it what should I do
Morning 🌄 Pete & subs!! From Atlanta. Need opinions and advice helping dad, tall fescue yard (established) this fall, we do the usual detach, aeration overseeding, summer just beats the tar out of the yard uses sprinkler what 📦 store seed would ya'll recommend he/we are good diy. Thanks God bless
I just bought some Rebels Southern Blend (Not sure if it's available in GA) because it had a lower percentage of weed seed than the scotts seed. Either is ok but nothing compared to what Pete has or what you can get at seed superstore. 0% weed seed and 0% other crop is ideal and the box store will have .5% or higher. Look at the sticker on the back of the bag to see what varieties of turf the bag has. That's where we'll list the weed seed percentage and other crop percentage too
Looks good. How soon after you use the starter fertilizer can you switch over to apply more nitrogen? Example 13-13-13 without burning up your new seedlings.
What's the best way to ensure good seed to soil contact over the well established part of the yard (without using a slit seeder)? Can you do a light pass with a power rake to make sure that seed is down deep on the soil surface or would that potentially damage the seed?
1)Why does the pine straw in the golf course look more dark reddish brown than the pine straw in residential subdivision? 2) how do apply pre-emergent in your natural areas with the pine straw in place, on the pine straw and water-in afterwards?
After watching this video and the prepping of this same lot of this over-seed you have gained a new follower/ subscriber. I really like how well your steps are detailed and explained.
