I was ready to hate this. How do you cover Berton Averre? Well, you make it your own! Great job!
At age 75 I only discovered the long version of Berton's solo on My Sharona about a year ago and have become obsessed with it as possibly my favorite solo of all time. And I used to hang with Stevie Ray. So I agree completely, I was like what is this about and how bad is it going to be? You make it your own!
@@brucenewlin6208 Wow, it took you long enough! When I first heard the long version of this song, some weeks after it debuted, it changed my taste in music. I needed MORE 2 minute guitar solos! It remains one of my all-time favorite solos. I really enjoy what Berton created, it's like a story, or even a roller-coaster. Just a wonderfully-crafted solo!
I'm a big SRV fan as well, got to see him perform live about a month before he died :(
