The bees dies when they sting So they are more likely to just sting out of self defense. Many people can collect the hive and put it in a box and then you can have the hive for honey - every year there is a new queen bee that settles somewhere else and makes a new hive. So, they probably have a new queen bee with a whole hive ready to go. There are companies that will do this for you.
