Opportunities to see a true musical legend and visionary in a small club do not come up very often, so when it happens, you go....it's that simple.
The music of Sonic Youth was so influential to myself and many many others, and while their dissolution was devastating, the fact that Kim Gordon is still as intense a force as she's ever been is remarkable. At 71 years old, her latest album "The Collective" is as vital and as punk rock as anything she, or anyone else, for that matter, has ever done. Her stage presence was intense and unrelenting and I loved it so much!
FYI, I always try to take these vids in a way that does not distract the people around me. If I'm in a spot where this is not possible, then I refrain from filming. These are strictly for the purpose of preserving a few memories for myself and they are (obviously) not professionally done.
