What a great video - this is much more the sort of content I think you should focus on. I can definitely see more passion and interest for things related to your project vs. Revit basics (although you're still passionate about that too of course!). It would be great to see a video of the 3D printing process in action or time-lapsed. Good luck with your final submission

thanks for sharing all your videos! I was really struggling with the export to dwg, as it could not be correct for the later export to stl...here I learnt about ACIS Solids Option and the problem was solved! What you do is very helpful and inspiring! Great job Balkan Architect! EV

Dude, big LIKE on this tutorial! I have typically gone through this process whenever I needed to export my model to go to sketchup, but I was not aware that AutoCAD had that file extension for exports (STL). Thank you

Te faltó mencionar algo importante: para que el archivo stl se guarde correctamente desde autocad, luego de elegir el archivo de destino, hay que seleccionar el modelo completo y presionar enter.

I know this video was done a long while ago. However for architecture projects you shouldn't use a filament printer. A resin printer will give you a better quality print for architectural projects. The overall end quality is superior over the filament version.

Hello , you said leave suggestions for other videos here? I was wondering if you could do a vid on how to set up a project to the correct real world co ordinates so it matches the topography survey drawing. If you already have a vid that would be great if you can point me in the direction.

Hello Balkan, how are you? I really like your channel, I'm Brazilian, I've been following your channel for some time, and I've been studying BIM and Revit with enthusiasm for a few years, as you are closer to the North American market, I would ask, if possible, to comment on the system. COBie rating, I find this concept very interesting and little explored in my country. Big hug.

I got a 3d printer for my office Revit projects. But I've been facing a lot of issues. Converting a project into stl. and fbx. I'm dealing with highly detailed buildings with a lot of assets, curtain walls, groups, and families. I want to put it towards my firms workflow but I cant be bothered to remodel the entire building and waste time downgrading everything into a solid mass. Any workaround suggestions?

Hi, i do really appreciate your video talking abt 3d printing tips in revit.
i am having similar issues with wall thickness with 3d models once printed out.
how do you broaden thin walled models in revit? it is a shower column for 3d printed furniture.
    thank you

BA, dude there were so many problems when following this process you explain here that I just abandon the export. When I viewed my model as an STL it only contained bits and fragments of my model. I eventually when back to AutoCAD to explode the blocks and made sure everything was a solid. All this with the same result, only bits and pieces of my model where showing up. 😢

Hello Sir, I have applied all your tips to 3d printing in revit . howevre mine doesnt work still. would you mind helping me out sir ?
my problem gets started with hollow walls. When i adjusted concrete walls 2000mm to 3000mm in revit, they are exported as you told me with ACIS options with dwg files to stl files finally.
However my file still gets hollow walls and floors when imported in Chitu Box or Photon 3d printing software.
How may i have to solve this problem? i do definitely want to print it out in 3d format .
    Thank you.

Hi there. You could this directly from revit without exporting to autocad. Either with .stl exporter or using dynamo. 👍

      If you're trying to run Revit, check out the specs that Autodesk recommends;
      knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Revit-2019-products.html
Be careful with graphics card selection. Nvidia Quaddro series is great for Revit, but not for high end visualisation software like Enscape. Consider TX 1070 1080ti for future proofing.
      Processor should be i7 ideally.
      Hope that helps!
