    I actually LOVE Murray's. I hate the logo on the tin, the people are so androgynous and goofy looking, but it's really the best value around in pomades. Every time I use it I can't get it off my hands for a while and it takes some working in but it ends up performing amazingly well. I've tried a lot of products and Murray's holds up with the best of them for me.

    I'm sure you're aware by now, but a vast majority of people who use murray's know you have to wet your hair a good bit first, little more than damp, won't be painful as long as its wet and you really rub it into your hands to melt it down

    I'll give you a tip... On really heavy waxes, it helps to use a blow dryer to soften the wax. I will usually pass a blow dryer through my hair once it's applied before combing to soften it up. It's funny watching people do it wrong and get frustrated with the product when in reality it's just their technique.

    I've used Murray's pomade, and it is definitely for those with thicker hair. It will give you a strong hold that lasts at least 7 hours. One nag is that if you take it all out and go to your regular hair, it splits out and there are a lot of split ends, but that's probably because Murray's does an excellent job holding it together.

      My hair is really fine such as you can see my scalp when i get out of the shower and i dont comb it. When i put murrays in it, it hold all day until i wash it out. The best part for me is it never gets messed up no matter what i do, it holds all day, the worst part is my hair is fine so i cant have a Johnny cash hairstyle

    Before I use Murrays superior, I would use original by BluMaan as my pre styler because I can get that volume then I’ll use Murray’s to keep it into place and to give me that shine. Best combo in my opinion

      i tried Murray's Superior as well as Murray's Black Beeswax on top of Blumaan Cavalier Clay, and still got decent volume after they packed things down. Not easy to wash out though. it's a good combo if you want a good pomp with shine. When I used Cavalier Clay alone, I get too much volume and my hair winds up looking spiky like a punk rock retro. I can't be taken seriously at work. Murry's Superior seems to work the best without alienating my co-workers and making them think I'm crazy.

    I have to use this cos its the only thing that will hold my hair in place for longer that 5 minutes. But I really hate using it. Is there anything else out there as strong as this that isn't maybe oil based.Its all good seeing people style their hair but they don't show what it looks like after a hard days work.

  • @mithuran1610
    @mithuran1610 5 лет назад +3

    I’ve been using this stuff for about 5 years I find myself discontinuing usage than going back to it occasionally. From my experience this stuff is frustrating as hell. For starters its greasy af and it takes forever to wash out, the hold is not as good as it proclaims, expect the hair to flop (worst is during the summer). Even when applying it on the freshness is lackluster it dries out super quick so hair looks dull. My biggest pet peeve would be the acne and to make it worse you break out instantly no matter how much you wipe it off or wash it.

  • @yorickhgvn
    @yorickhgvn 9 лет назад +10

    Tried it, easy to apply, easy to style, but impossible to wash it out. Had to use dishwasher soap three times in one single shower and it was still there a little.. That was the end of using Murray's for me. And the hair-pulling thing is very true.

There's all this stuff that's "bad" for you hair, but at the end of the day, it's just hair, I'm a guy, if I don't like how's it looking I'll just get a hair cut cause it's just hair. I usually change my hair style like every year or six months cause I've accepted that's it's just hair and it grows back, or doesnt and that's okay with me. And as for taking care of it while it's relaxed, I just use conditioner. Leave in conditioner works really well. Sometimes I this curl cast thing too, so my curls are more defined and not as messy.

      @Tonaldo90 7 лет назад

      While stuff is in your heaD?

    •  7 лет назад +1

      Toni Matilainen Yeah man. I live in Canada and it's getting cold with the winter. Murray's or Dax's pomade become quite hard because of this. So I take a bit in my hands, heat it up in my hand with the blow dryer and apply it. It quickly becomes hard so I use the blow dryer again on my hair with the product in to loosen it up and finish combing it through. It'll become greasy and smooth and harden as it cools.

    You got none of it on the back of your hair. You should always start with the back.

    A question about pomade in general. I use pomade a lot and I don't have any of the really good brands. I just have the brands you can find at Sally's like Murray's or Dax. Here is the question. My friend says you should wash out pomade like once a week with dish soap and let it sit for a while without any in it.
    1) Is this a good method to wash it out?
    2) Is there a way to safely wash it out daily?
    3) If dish soap is an awful method (considering it dries hair like crazy) is there another method that works better?

      I have found a way to get pomades out that is somewhat easy. First, I get in the shower and set it as hot as I can stand. Hotter water warms up and helps thin the oil. After warming my head in the hot shower for a couple of minutes, I get a handful of olive oil and rub it through my hair to cut the heavy oil with something a little more manageable. I then wash it out with a bit of dish detergent and shampoo about 3-4 times, or until it feels like most of it is out. Doing that is a little easier than just dish soap alone.

    Don't get mad but oil base it better than water base because almost everything that makes up the wb is chemicals which isn't good for you hair plus the hair falling out is normal ask people who have used oil base they will tell you

      +Luis Martinez .. I tried murray's pomade.. . So far it hasn't resulted in hair loss, but when i apply olive oil after a few days to remove the sticky pomade then i've noticed my hair breaking and falling..
