Paul Downing gives us a detailed walkaround tour of his Lancair 360 that he raced for the first time this year at the Reno Air Races. Paul even describes what he is planning on improving on the plane to get a few more knots out of it.
I like this guy. Very calm and collected to be involved in such exciting activities, while so young.
I actually went to college with Paul. He's a great person and a damn good pilot.
amazing
A *hundred* mph stall speed clean? Oh my goodness! WOW, safe to say you don’t scare easy. Outstanding video what a machine. Congrats Erik
Really enjoyed this video Erik!
Thank you for sharing. Nice airplane!
Thanks, that explains a lot.
Beautiful plane!
Very interesting!
A CLEAN stall speed of 100 mph... geez.
You're packing baseballs as balls..
I got to fly my friends aircraft in Darwin a few years back!
Debrief after every race. Haha! yeah I would have to debrief too!
I think that’s a “ventral” fin instead of a dorsal fin.

I believe your right. We sometimes mess up when the camera is rolling. I know I’ve done it! Haha
Great video, I didn’t mean to be critical.

No worries my friend. Glad you liked it and thanks
Camera man needs some education "RV8s are slow...". Lol
The RVs have fixed landing gears (and rivets, both cause drag) so usually they are slower than a comparably powered lancair.
