My biggest problem with G5 is them doing the "lmao, everything the previous heroes did doesn't matter everything is EVEN worse now and their achievements are all dust in the wind" bullshit.
It's a twisted irony- they want the fame of G4, which I too was in the "happened to grow up in its high", while also making a world where G4 gets not retconned, but functionally erased despite being key to the lore.
Yeah, every headcanon was ruined. Like 100 different versions of how kids of Mane6 would look like were ruined because for example Discord apparently became a sad old man in G5 comics and that mean he never had any other family beside Fluttershy for hundreds of years nor Fluttershy had any kids LMAO
I never understood this argument, because this is a natural consequence of a sequel taking place eons into the future. Mega Man Legends. The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker. Chrono Cross. Even limiting the topic to MLP, there was an entire subfandom around Fallout Equestria, a lite crossover fanfiction turned AU where the Mane 6 are actually responsible for the apocalypse, leading characters in the present to resolve the aftermath. And it was published before Season 1 even finished. It’s tiring to see people dismiss an entire work just because “characters in the current entry have to resolve a conflict that was unresolved by characters from the previous entry.” MLP G5 had plenty of problems, but this wasn’t one of them.
If they wanna chase nostalgia so much, why don't they just make it focused on flurry heart? The crystal empire and how it fares under a new ruler and her learning how to rule, the social norms from being a born alicorn compared to twilight and her mom? What about the stained glass window we never got to see how she earned, or the places closer to the crystal empire we haven't explored? How she rules with twilight and how controlling Twilight could be? Especially with the dark topic of her friends getting older whilst she is immortal
This is such a good idea omg!!! And even if they just wanna go the business route, wouldn't having a full-on princess from the start as a main character sell a lot of toys?
Let's be real here, how many people can you name who consider Flurry heart their favourite character? Exactly. I feel like having the CMC as teachers would be more interesting since we would also see the young six.
@@krmKB they don't think of her as a good character because of how she is designed, as a cash grab. We know little about the crystal empire and the places around it (especially if you don't count the comics). If the series focused on her she would be less of a cash grab, and more of a character with development. It would also give a direct linkage to the CMC, young main six and branching directly off G4 while not being in the same place, same time.
Dude. I thought of either this or about Luster Dawn and her adventures. In my headcannon, Luster becomes an Alicorn after she stands up to Opaline and tries to fight her but loses then gets wings for fighting her. Then she comes back with wings and fights her again and wins
I feel like Hasbro hoped G5 would become an explosive success like G4 and when it didn’t live up to expectations, they threw it away Also Camp Cutie Mark was apparently scrapped so they’re likely going for a different idea
To my knowledge it hasn't been scrapped. A slightly different idea where Tell Your Tale would be turned into a full G4 crossover series was abandoned, along with the rest of the show, but that was a separate thing that preceded Camp Cutie Mark
Even though I am not a MLP Fan and Neutral to the show but I can imagine myself waking up in the morning and I open the curtains and then G5 Colours and G5 Stuff light came through my windows and I scream and fall just like that one Gravity Falls Scene where a Rainbow Light came into Grunkle Stan's face causing him to fall to the floor.
The thing is G5 did have potential with darker themes as shown in the movie. They then dropped the ball to do something they deemed safe after Karen's on Facebook complained about the earth ponies lived in fear and used anti pegasus and unicorn tech believing they were making fun of them and the anti vaxx movement! But the most egregious sin in my book is when they compared Sprout to Donald Trump because no one understands color theory!!!! AND HE WASN'T INSPIRED BY TRUMP HE WAS INSPIRED BY PART ONE DIO!!!! 💀
The worst part is that by Season 8, there were so many characters and friend groups that could carry their own shows. The student six, the cutie mark crusaders, Discord, Starlight, Trixie, Celestia, Luna, Ember, Thorax, and so much more. Hasbro was sitting on a gold mine and did nothing with it!
I thought they said that the Camp Cutie Mark idea was scrapped? and besides, I for one still would prefer if G6 was its own thing with its own world, characters, and lore and absolutely no connections to any of the previous generations. It's high time that they put the world of Equestria and G4 to rest. But since this is Hasbro we're talking about, the odds of them coming up with new ideas and making G6 its own thing are like 1 to 0.
Hasbro hasn't officially confirmed anything, except that there will be a brand reboot in 2026 (in a magazine article) and that the Camp Cutie Mark leak was real (by trying to get it taken down) To my knowledge Camp Cutie Mark has not been cancelled, and if they did cancel it recently then they'd have to do a mad scramble to get something released in 2026, and that would probably be even worse
That’s the similar situation with Transformers, Hasbro CAN LOT let go of G1 of transformers, despite the fact that when a continuity stepped outside the box, they stood out and were remembered. Even the people who’s making the current comic run of Transformers are trying (and succeeding thankfully) in introducing something new to the G1 continuity. Saying they were also tired of the same things being rehashed from Hasbro. They’re just so pigeon-holed on nostalgia, but it’s clearly starting to fail them by not even doing something new WHILE using said nostalgia. Sucks the MLP is suffering the most cause of this mentality🫤
G4 was lightning in a bottle. I don't think Hasbro is ever going to be able to capture that magic again, especially with the way the industry treats creatives now.
Let's not forget to keep G.I. Joe, and oh… uh… Jem and the Holograms, I guess? I feel like I'm forgetting something else important. Edit: Well, I'm getting mixed up, sorry, I was thinking more of what the company might need to hold onto if they get picked apart by Musk. Which is way different from the context of what you actually were commenting about.
6:15 Musky can't buy Hasbro, he doesn't have enough public shares and several board members are ex PayPal guys who hate him, he just wants to make people think he's unstoppable
G5's lack of merch (despite having more console games than G4) will always be something that somewhat froze it in time for me. Nobody wanted the 2021 merch, even years later, and especially not the ones which are literal G4.5 Ponylife recolours.
At this point, the fandom will turn into what the Pokémon fandom turned back in 2010 ... so 15 years later history can be revised as "Back then we thought all gens were great"
Unfortunately, people tend to think that "orange and yellow" ponies are more boring than "pink, purple and rainbow coloured". I don't hate any of the ponies, but AJ is often forgotten in some merch pieces and it's been proved a lot of times. And also her personality may be hard to understand for children: Twi is smart🤓, Pinkie is cheerful and funny 😁, Rainbow is cool😎, Flatty is shy and cute😊, Rarity is fashionable🎀 and Applejack is...also cool? Less cool than Rainbow Dash + no rainbow hair? Idk she has a hat. I love that little apple lover and it's so sad she often is not included.
They missed the chance to make a LOT of spinoff series - or to experiment with them - Celestia and Luna, the Young Six, hell, a mini series following the pillars from when they were united by Stigeon, to when they went into limbo, would be epic!
A few corrections. 0:06. I disagree that G5 was killed out of nowhere. The death flags have been waving since at latest mid-2023, but people were in denial. 1:40. Actually, G2 ran from 1997 to 2003, so G5 has indisputably won the dubious honor of being MLP's shortest generation (2021 to 2024). Regarding what is or isn't cancelled, there is some evidence that the "Ponyverse" concept was canceled. However, that does not mean that "Camp Cutie Mark" is the same thing or was canceled. Camp Cutie Mark is, undoubtedly, real Hasbro stuff. Whether or not it becomes G6 or gets scrapped like the 2017 G5 leaks remains to be seen. But to answer your original question, we are... adjusting... to the reality that MLP will not get good again anytime soon. Collecting old toys and rewatching old episodes will be our lives now.
"Anytime soon," IMO, being keywords not to give up, but to know it has to get weirder before it gets better (and encourage people to not just hope, but to (reasonably, and respectfully, of course) push Hasbro towards making it better.
In regards to it not getting good again any time soon, I feel like a lot of folks are in denial that, by the standards they’re setting, Gen 4 is really the ONLY “good” generation of MLP, & Gen 5 was only “good” to them in ways that took from Gen 4. Especially with how many of them would/do make fun of Gen 3.
Yeah, I was going to say that the signs of G5's death were noticeable by 2023. There was a notable drop-off in fan participation (at least from what I saw), and the constant flow of G4 member berries just gave off the vibe Hasbro was desperate.
Not gonna lie, I like G5, but I hate how Hasbro handles it. They’re so dumb. Netflix invested tons of money-they even commissioned Hasbro to make the show look better. Netflix was the one managing MYM, and by the way, TYT was originally supposed to be an ad for MYM. But, being typical Hasbro, they just couldn’t wait. They had to release MYM Chapter 1 early so they could start promoting their toys-seriously, the most impatient company on Earth. In February 2023, Netflix decided to part ways with Hasbro. They handed ALL the MLP-related work back to Hasbro, leaving them to handle everything on their own. Netflix got tired of Hasbro being a total mess and cut ties, which is why MYM got canceled. Now that Hasbro is the only one running G5, they’ve decided to focus entirely on TYT. The whole process behind the scenes is a complete mess. I hate Hasbro. But anyway, I really like this video! I honestly don’t know what will happen to MLP, but remember, if Hasbro is in charge of the whole thing, let me remind you-they completely ruined everything.
You’re not the only one that hates them, I’ve hated them back when they ruined and lied to us about Grogar, destroying the continuity of G4 and ended Equestria Girls when it’s NOT EVEN FINISHED, it’s a complete joke.😒
If they had just kept to Goldner's intention and visions, direction IMO things would have been at the least interesting, I'd even say better as it became increasingly clear that Goldner REALLY WANTED it to do well (not just MLP either, but also a lot of other Hasbro franchises too).
i've always been under the impression that they really wanted people to initially think g5 was a sequel to g4. The problem is they really DIDN'T try and make the show an actual sequel. Tying up loose ends, things that'd permeate to g5's time or just not advertising it as a sequel at all. I genuinely think she show would have been better off in the long run if it didn't try and fall back on g4, or lean further into the sequel concept as a whole. I REALLY wanted the whole show to be a proper sequel with more than basically 4 character cameos (two being a flashback) and literally nothing else that'd tie the show to prior events/the prior season as a whole. Hasbro really went with the middle ground on the ideas they were haphazardly trying to convey early on and really only used it as an initial boost to various sales and and chasing nostalgia.
Because they couldn't. It came out that when they sold the hub back to Discovery, they always sold the rights to use basically everything from season 5-9. They literally had to pay to use/mention Spike and Twilight. I have no idea what smooth brain at Hasbro thought that was a good idea.
@@shagohad3 I'm going to assume it was because they were banking on g5 being the next g4 in terms of popularity? If that's the case it was genuinely a the worst idea they've literally ever had. Which genuinely has me questioning why they even thought tying g5 to g4 in any way whatsoever made sense to them. If they really wanted to bank on g4's prior success to roll over to g5, why limit their ability to USE g4??? That has me confused more than anything else.
In retrospect, I view G5 as an attempt to recapture lightning in a bottle by making it a sequel to G4, but since lightning does not strike the same place twice, it struck Hasbro in the foot instead. I love G5 and all the generations of MLP, but G5 should have been its own iteration like the others were. Another problem I noticed was, its media was all over the place instead of having a TV Show everyone could watch either on TV or RUclips.
@@fluttershy04 Thanks for being that person, I truly appreciate it! That being said, I'd rephrase my comment as "Hasbro tried to catch lightning in a bottle twice, but the second time, the lightning shattered the glass instead."
If anything, I hope Hasbro gaslights us into thinking us into thinking G5 was G4.75 or something, and the Camp Cutie Mark era is the real G5. Seriously though, they were *really* wanting to bring people back, they're better off either going back to G4 altogether, or hiring people who actually care about MLP. I'm full of ideas, so Hasbro could just ask me!
SERIOUSLY! If Hasbro gets people who either grew up with, or would love working on the franchise, got fresh ideas, and were actually given the space and freedom needed to maker a quality show, they can have a show that AT THE LEAST won't sputter out and bomb, and can stand its own as another good generation of the show regardless of how long that lasts. IMO, though, it's not just Hasbro, but parts of the fandom, that seem to miss that it isn't magic that made FIM so good. It was that the show was designed really well, with people who really wanted to make something that was not just enjoyable for the target audience, but for everyone.
@@monstrouspegasister It kinda started as just a backstory for the Crystal Empire, but grew to include parts of Equestria and even way beyond. I only discovered the official MLP comics after almost halfway through writing, so they're basically replaced by my project lol.
@@monstrouspegasister Bit of a long read but here's some more details if you'd like them! After tons of revisions (due to more MLP seasons coming out, and me becoming old lol), Flurry Heart became the protagonist. While struggling to control magical surges that she never grew out of, she discovers her special talent -- an ability to see the past play out like a recording. Through this talent her family tree is revealed, as well as historical events throughout Equestria. Flurry's grandparents were Nebula and Coal, the last proper king and queen before the Crystal Empire disappeared. Coal was possessed by the vengeful spirit of an old dragon king, who attempted to use Coal's body to fuel a transformation back into his own dragon body. But it was stopped partway through, which is why King Sombra looks like a pony, but has strange features like a curved, reddish horn and pointed teeth. Nebula's mother was Andromeda, sister of Celestia and Luna. The sisters were raised in the village created by Princess Platinum, Commander Hurricane, and Chancellor Puddinghead. It was expected they would take control of the sun and moon together once their magical training was completed, but Celestia and Luna earned their respective cutie marks for controlling the sun and moon individually. Andromeda's cutie mark was a star, and she could not determine what her special talent was. So she pleaded with Star Swirl and her sisters, and was allowed to live her own life, marrying her sweetheart and giving birth to three fillies. She later died in battle against a fierce dragon king and his subjects. Turns out her special talent was being a guide to the afterlife. Andromeda's mother was Lilliane, queen of a distant kingdom of Alicorns. They were originally the ones who controlled the sun and moon. One day Lilliane left with her three daughters and found the newly formed village in Equestria where her daughters would grow up. Lilliane had a sister named Lorelei, who attempted to take over the sun and moon herself. However, she overestimated her power and was captured. At her trial she was stripped of her magic and banished from the kingdom. Raw magic cannot be destroyed, so it was sealed in a jar and stored in the caverns below the kingdom, where crystal trees grew in abundance. Lorelei had killed many important Alicorns and left the kingdom shaken, so when wyverns attacked the kingdom, they met weak resistance and were able to infiltrate the caverns, seeking the precious gems that grew on the crystal trees. But they destroyed the jar that contained Lorelei's magic. It consumed the magic of the gems, the wyverns, and the remaining Alicorns, and grew into an incredibly massive cloud of dark magic. Lilliane foresaw this happening, abandoned her children because she's a fantastic mom 👍and was able to halt the dark magic because plot reasons lmao. A piece of the dark magic was flung far away, and found itself a host in the Crystal Mountains. Before Princess Platinum, Commander Hurricane, and Chancellor Puddinghead found Equestria, they decided to scale the Crystal Mountains and see what was on the other side. An avalanche cut off a group of ponies from the expedition, and they fell into a cave. (Fun fact, I rolled a die years ago to see if they were lucky enough to have food. They were. Unfortunately, the food didn't last long enough to stop them from finding -- alternatives.) A unicorn father and his daughter, Moon Spark, were among those trapped in the cave. The father was quite abusive towards her because of her magic ineptitude, and other ponies tried to protect Moon Spark from him. But when their food ran out, so did her protectors. That's when the piece of dark magic found her. It activated previously dormant magic within her and she blew up a large section of the mountain. In present day Equestria, train tracks run through that open section. Star Swirl created time spells and went back to just before the avalanche. But the explosion he made is what actually triggered the avalanche. Nopony ever found out -- except for his sister, Moon Spark. Moon Spark went on to infect Luna and Stygian with the dark magic, leading to the creation of Nightmare Moon, and The Pony of Shadows. Or Stygian's version, at any rate. She was turned to shadow by Star Swirl and can be seen lurking around the Castle of the Two Sisters in the present day.
In some fairness about the bit about Elon, he says he'll do a LOT of stuff that never transpires. He probably wouldn't have even brought Twitter considering he was kind of forced into it. Anyway, I hope they don't just reboot G4 again and again. Let's get something new for G6!
As it is, G4's success was in spite of the way Hasbro treated it. The show would have definitely been better without the arbitrarily forced marketing of poorly designed toys that didn't fit the style or world building of the show at all.
Excuse the long post, but man, I just have to vent about Hasbro seemed allergic to investing a little more in the merchandise/tie-in side of things when they could have made (even more) serious bank off of the explosive popularity of FIM. MLP G4 was a cultural phenomenon and Hasbro, for all the products they did get out there, still fumbled the bag on clearly in-demand concepts, and the best official FIM products were done by companies that weren't Hasbro. Imagine how hard it would have gone if they made: 1. Tie In video games! The world of MLPFIM would be absolutely PERFECT for a Spyro-esque platforming adventure game. FIM also could have worked as a puzzle game, point and click adventure game, and/or a minigame collection. The fact Hasbro didn't fund any real games for G4 leaves me flabbergasted. 2. Show accurate plushes - they SERIOUSLY cut corners in ways that baffle me, freaking dirt-cheap, unlicensed AliExpress pony plushes ate their lunch in terms of visual fidelity. There was a MASSIVE demand for pony plushes that weren't the squashed blobs with stringy hair. 3. MLP action figures... okay, they DID make the Guardians of Harmomy line, but not until TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN... they really missed the boat on that. 4. How about licensing GoodSmile to do a line of MLP Nendoroid figures? With swappable face plates, changeable wings (open/closed), and poseable or swappable leg pieces and some accessories. Nendoroid ponies would have sold like hotcakes among teen and adult audiences. 5. Here's a creative one, which I'm sure would have been popular - a line of customizable pony figures - you can swap manes, tails, wings, horns, and add cutie marks or eyes with stickers. I don't know how coat colour would work, outside of just offering multiple bodies... but imagine how many fans would buy several "booster packs" of different manes and tails, to build their OCs. I'm not a product or toy designer, but I was/am around the fandom enough to know what people really wanted in terms of products, and know what kind of toys/collectables other fandoms get, none of what I'm suggesting here would have been insane, pie in the sky products to produce, particularly for a large toy company that also was willing to license out their properties to other companies. Would all or any one of these have meant investing more time in design and development, and more money in production costs? Naturally. But they'd have made insane amounts of money, more than they made by half assing it.
@@serious_house That's literally every damned company ever, like even going in with the "Money > everything else". They ALWAYS manage to believe that not making any sort of efforts will reward them, even after countless times that showed the opposite and explicitely stated that "a little investment = MEGA MONEY !!!"
My long comment got auto-deleted ;_; I'll try and make it shorter: Hasbro would have made boatloads of money with better products, they put out mediocre toys and tie-in media for a massively popular cultural phenomenon tier series. FIM wasn't a financial failure, but Hasbro chose to cut corners instead of investing more and thus making far more profit.
Some examples of products they could have made that would have made BANK 1. There was massive demand for show-accurate plush toys, Hasbro produced lumpy, stringy haired rejects that look like knock-offs. Actual knock-offs were able to cash-in with accurate plushes of characters 2. Lack of major tie-in video games: FIM would have been the perfect fodder for a fully featured 3d platforming adventure game (think Spyro, but with Twilight Sparkle instead), a MMORPG or RPG, a point-and-click adventure game, or even a hidden object game. Hasbro instead made a freemium mobile game. 3. Show accurate figures with better quality sculpting and poseable limbs, maybe about the size of a brushable, but with neck, shoulder and knee articulation, everyone wanted this pretty early on in the show's run 4. Throwing one out to the classic MLP collectors, more variety in brushables, rather than only a few moulds 5. My dream product would be Hasbro licensing GoodSmile to do a line of MLP Nendoroids, with swapable face plates, two sets of wings for open and closed shapes, leg pieces to change the pony's pose etc.
Also clearing up for the commenters: Camp Cutie Mark is still happening, as far as we can tell. The cancelled pitch is for Ponyverse, the latter came before the former and they reinvented it into the former.
Frankly I don't think anything from Hasbro will ever reach G4's level again. The show was a perfect storm of having the right talent in the right place at the right time with the right budget. I don't think studio execs could justify spending enough money to make something of that quality for television ever again. The sort of intelligent, fun-for-the-whole-family writing that made G4 so good would never work in the brainrotted Cocomelon hell of modern kid's entertainment.
Here is my idea for how they should handle the franchise: get people to do what they’re good at. Lauren Faust was good at cartoons so Hasbro getting her on board was a good idea. Now Hasbro is making a reboot so they need to find whoever is best at making reboots. Who is the best at making reboots? The team behind the 2017 Ducktales reboot is the best at making reboots. The crew for that show knew how to look deeper at their source material and deconstructing it in a new way. (I would highly recommend that you watch the show if you haven’t, the first episode is free on RUclips) The writers of the show are clearly huge fans of MLP because they constantly reference it. One of the best attributes of the show is they write each season with a rule (each season finale needs to be able to fit as a series finale if they don’t know if they are going to get green lit for another season). The show was able to last indefinitely and end at any time due to the show relying on folklore and its source material for the world building. The show was also able to tell consistent stories with all of these disparate elements due to its use of plot twists. By taking an element from one episode and drawing a connection between it and a detail in another episode they were able to set up more story lines in less time and deepening side characters by examining unconventional dynamics.
People who run these giant companies don't seem to understand that some animation directors are better then others. If a show fails, they will conclude "It failed because people don't want to watch a 20 minute cartoon about ponies anymore" not "It failed because the writing wasn't good enough"
Camp Cutiemark was scrapped, it doesn’t matter. At most they want to take the most popular characters, disconnect them, and tell a new story. and the worst part was how G5 made the mane six’s efforts amount to nothing. They need to make a clean new self contained world and put in the effort to start again. As long as the current CEO is the CEO all the fans of all their franchises won’t be having fun.
@@HandheldGamer1991 Clearly they need 4 hair pins, 2 bags of chips, and a dozen saddle bags to go with it. 😂 In all seriousness, I think Hasbro is way overthinking it in terms of what it needs to do to make a show that (REGARDLESS of if it is as big as FiM or not - which seems like a foolish amount of pressure to put on a generation) can stand and do well.
I knew Gen 5 was doomed from the very start when the movie placed itself in G4 continuity. Aside from cheapening G4's characters by saying their adventures were entirely pointless and Equestria fell, it also ruined any chance for G5 to establish its own identity. It didn't become another unique generation with its own style, but just "that sequel to G4".
It's so amazing how they had lighting in a bottle with G4, and instead of capitalizing on it, they fumbled it and tried to capitalize on the burnt grass and shattered glass it left behind.
Hasbro themselves has said they're not interested making any more TV shows, since animation is super expensive and they just don't have the money. They don't even make their own toys anymore, they license out the IPs, and some other third-party company makes them. And that's ALL theyvwant to do; lease out their IPs for cash. IF this gets made, Hasbro won't have any say in it, they'll have to license the IP to somebody else.
Honestly i'll never understand why Hasbro just didn't get Lauren Faust to write like another universe or screen play or something since her vision for MLP in the past worked so well and obviously a lot of the charm MLP FIM had also came from the great writers but like why not preserve as many great talents as much as possible??? 😭😭😭(actually idk how many people where carried over from the G4 team but i assume not very many considering how the characters feel very much dumb downed compared to the G4 ones 😭)
If Hasbro REALLY wants to bank on Nostalgia and also try something new, why not have the "new Mane 6" all be favorite characters from each generation plus a new character? Think about a cutie-mark show where you have filly versions of Firefly, Melody, Puzzlement, Twilight Sparkle, Misty, and a brand new character with a new gimmick (to sell toys of course). Old fans would love it for the throwbacks to characters they like and the new kids would just want to cuddle little pony toys after each episode. It would be a win-win.
For those wondering why G5 was a really jank sequel, I want you to keep one thing in mind: Hasbro sold the use rights for a ton of stuff from G4 when they sold the Hub back to Discovery. I'm not kidding, not only did they include the broadcast rights for previous seasons and future seasons, they literally gave them the use rights for season 5-9. Which means they could barely use anything from G4 and IIRC, they actually had to pay to use/mention Spike and Twilight. As when they made G5, the rights hadn't reverted back to them.
clicked on this because i saw elon musk in the thumbnail and i just HAD to know. for MY SANITY. KEEP THAT GREASY BILLIONAIRE FAR AWAY FROM MY COLORFUL LITTLE HORSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but also good video :3)
On the other hand, Elon proclaiming that he is the overlord of a franchise of technicolor marshmallow horses is a funny mental image. Even though he would _definitely_ make that one Nazi pony OC a Canon character.
Also I want that Fluttershy shirt shown in the video, lol... I'm not opposed to a nostalgia fueled resurgence of merchandise for G4, and I love Hot Topic.
I’ve watched parts of the video your describing (a report/mlp fan’s report, not the original obviously) and here’s what I remember skimming over: Twilight is a young pony who hasn’t earned her cutie mark yet (I think). She is send by her parents to a “cutie-mark camp”, a summer camp basically. She is excited but nervous because a particular pony who has picked on her in the past and still does is also at the camp. While settling in Twilight meets Misty (from G5), a shy pony who also doesn’t really have friends and is alone and nervous. Pinkie and Rainbow dash also show up at some point (I think Rainbow is introduced by flying inside too fast and crashing into a lunchtable?) Twi becomes friends with the three other ponies and she remarks how she now thinks her time in the camp will be fun and exciting, she can’t wait to see what will happen, or something like that. Also the entire thing was voice acted by some women I didn’t recognize.
What's with all the shows and movies that revolve around summer camp? I've yet to meet anyone who actually went to camp as a kid, but Hollywood would have me believe I missed out on some sacred American rite of passage.
I think the world of G4 was really well developed to a point where they could have made a new cast of characters in a different setting to flesh out some more of the holes left in the lore if they were creative enough. Any new characters or stories they created using it didn't need to have large and important impacts as figures, they could have made the settings smaller in their respective niches (you don't always need a 'save the world' problem). G5 as a premise was really interesting and I'm sure it could have been a great series as well but I was really put off by the 3d animation aspect of it and they really dropped the ball with the story. Instead of Opaline being a main villain (She could still have been a villain of the week character lets say), why not bring back a character like cozy glow and have her take center stage as the big bad since she felt incomplete. I would have preferred a bunch of mini-series set in the same world and universe with different or newer characters to keep things fresh or interesting honestly, with occasional call backs to the old guard.
An MLP anime series would almost be guaranteed to be a success, and make loads of money. Imagine a Panty and Stocking or PPGZ style MLP, the hype would be off the charts.
@@Illogical_Taleseither an animated art style more similar to old Cartoon Network, or stuff like magical girl shows like Precure or the Japanese rendition of the Powerpuff Girls.
im hoping that the g4 and g5 characters are just placeholders like with g5 where they based the personalities off them. g6 not being a continuation is already an improvement so not all hope is lost
I think the best case scenario would be trying to capture the charm of G3 where they look like horses, have MANY different characters rather than the same five or so over and over again and just make it as cutesy as possible. I think it's time for the entire "MLP must be gritty or have all these interconnected storylines" to die down because it's just not working. As you said it should be light-hearted and character driven and that would be the best outcome for any new incarnation. Also maybe use different recycled names this time. I don't think using Rainbow, Pinkie, ETC. is a good idea since people will eventually harken back to the G4 mane characters. I know they were G3 characters before but I think it's time to give some new names the spotlight if that makes any sense.
I hated how they ended Allura's story ark so soon in G5 cause cancellation, I was more interested in Allura than Opaline, Allura was a better villain who could've had a redemption ark, I'm still new to MLP as a whole and love both G4 and G5, but I hated how it was cancelled too early, sounds familiar though, Equestria Girls is probably best comparison, was hated at the start but got good as it was being cancelled, or was that Pony Life? someone correct me please
they shoulda just did what i had always imagined and hoped for, which was G4 2. the Student/Young Six are the new main characters and it takes place during the timeskip before The Last Problem. it's far too late to do that now though, those characters have almost no popularity and even from a non-money making standpoint it just wouldn't make sense. Thankfully they are doing something similar in the IDW comics right now, with a story literally called Season 10, which i plan on reading but i wanna read the rest of the entire comic series first and thats A Lot to get through.
@@pvzbronygodgaming8476 i didn't know that cause ive been trying to avoid any info on it so i dont get spoiled. its still something im looking forward to checking out tho, frankly im glad its finished so i dont have to wait for new issues for months
I hope they're going to drop the "unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies hate each other". I thought I was okay in G4 when it was just a backstop, not a focus of the show. It's personal but I just find it annoying. I don't want tribal fights between my cute rainbow colored horses??
This is unfortunately where a lot of bad investments, and the decision to make G5 a sequel (Much as I really like, if not love G5), gets you to. And with the sights of the future... I think it's better they just let My Little Pony die peacefully, rather than have it fizzle out painfully.
Great video I didn't even know they were cutting this season short. I do feel a bit bad for them. Like there could have been something good here if they were just given the chance to cook. My dream would be to get a Spike who is in the age range of the rest of the group and can be a main player kinda like Hitch... with just more personality lol
Companies nowadays are all very lazy and chasing nostalgia instead of making something new, it is honestly so annoying and tiring it sucks that hasbro is apart of it too
I mean, previous generations also tend to recycle and repurpose old characters so I'm not really bothered by Twi, Pinkie, and Rainbow being reused. However knowing the recent quality standards with Hasboro and their apparent complete lack of a temperature reading on both its adult fans and young kids looking for something cool to watch makes me have absolutely 0 faith in gen 6 being anything short of slop that lasts for a season on RUclips Kids.
The thing i loved abt the mlp franchise the most tis hat they didn't rely on the previous serious before them for plot or backstory, only character inspo.Every generation had its own plot and unique charaters to built from and the problem wit G5 is that it doesn't do that. The characters and series shouldnt have to rely on G4 for background 🤷🏾♀️ every gen expects a new plot, gen5 is just lazily written imo
Hasbro need to pick up someone that actually cares about My Little Pony and understands how a new generation should work without re using the ideias Faust had or maybe even taking some inspiration from it but still trying it's best to be different.
I think they should use different characters, to use characters both from g4 and g5 seems odd to me. but i guess it would technically be an au since it wouldnt be canon with what we know.
It's sad to me that G5 turned out the way it did because the G5 Movie got me into My Little Pony. I honestly really loved it and decided to go back to G4 and loved it too (mostly). Then the G5 show came out, and it just wasn't the same. I tried watching more, but it just didn't feel the same G4 did.
imo i feel like a lot of artistic choices brought it down. the art style in 3D _and_ 2D was a little offputting, but a lot of the individual pony designs were kinda weird or boring, the other creatures in general looked weird (seriously how did they mess up the dragons AND the breezies?), they tried to insert a shameless cash grab character (the annoying baby dragon) without the care and grace that G4 (imo) managed to do several times (i LIKED the shameless cash grab parts of G4 ok) and the writing all around was... just lacking. they just missed on several factors that were what made people love G4 in the first place. the art, the characters, the world, the writing. it wasnt perfect, but it was still good. i tried to like G5, but it just kept disappointing me. everything i liked about G5... was what it _could_ have been. so anyway, im not surprised that people barely bought the merch. the shows werent appealing to an older audience like the previous generation, and i dont even know if they were appealing to a younger generation either. i mean even when i talk to my young neice about my little pony, she only seems to know G4. im not excited for G6, whenever it comes out. ill give it a chance out of the love i will always have for G4, but im not expecting much. also i really _really_ hope elon leaves hasbro alone. he does NOT need control over a company aimed primarily at children. he cant even manage to be a decent father to his own.
3:12 what I want to know is that will this open the door on a possible return for Equestria Girls?! Because the majority of the fan base (including myself) we're upset that it never got a proper ending
One thing to keep in mind is that G4 started in 2010, which is pretty long ago. Those were different times. Back then, MLP didn't have to address short attention span viewers to gain attention as much as it has to nowadays (or so corporate thinks). Dark times are ahead indeed.
something im afraid of is the possibility of hasbro dropping mlp completely because it will never reach the high that it did back in the early 2010s. do they realize how much of a lightning of a bottle event the success of G4 was?
They could roll in money if they just give the show back to dhx hire all the same ppl and tell idw make more comics instead of taking the license away from them and grying to find a cheaper aka worse publisher!!!! also contact enterplay to make more cards pol lirerally import cards from china! Yes from china to collect more mlp and hasbro is like duh we font know how to use our ip duh?!?! I jate hasbto its such a dumb co pany run by morons!!!! I amt belive china freaking chona shows mlp more love then hasbro itself its absurd!
*do they realize how much of a lightning of a bottle event the success of G4 was?* I disagree strongly. The success itself wasn't lightning in a bottle at all, and IMO this narrative really harms the potential for future generations to succeed. TRhe SUDDEN popularity amongst people both inside and outside its target demographic was lightning in a bottle. The show itself was, well, it was just well designed, planned out, it was just good. THAT part is absolutely NOT lightning in a bottle at all.
@@DanknDerpyGamer the major popularity from bronies is exactly what im talking about. bronies made the mlp brand one of the most profitable IPs for a moment and im worried that hasbro is spending too much time trying to find a way to recreate that amount of success by reusing g4 characters/themes and not giving any new ideas a chance. Instead of trying to bring back the level of smart and engaging writing from G4 theyre trying to use generic formulas that appeal to a wide audience.
@@yendo1774They learned nothing about why FIM made the MLP brand so successful. Make a visually unique and appealing animated series with good writing that can appeal to all ages, and they'd have had fans of G4 flock back and buy merch, along with new fans. FIM wasn't really lightning in a bottle, it was bound for success, in spite of Hasbro's mostly lacklustre merchandise.
I will say that I didn't tune into G5 or vibe with it because of the CG animation style. I prefer more cartoony, hand-drawn work. I do realize that G4 wasn't technically hand-drawn, but I'm so biased against CG animation after 15 years of too much Pixar, I just dismissed it outright after episode 1.
Also that chart showing twilight as a teen and her morher as adult is just so weird and makes no sense. If anything twilight is a young adult and her mother a old mare unless you are telling me her son who is married came to be while she herself was a kid.....
The leaked video wouldn’t be concept art per say, but a proof of concept, test or internal pilot. It could potentially look a lot closer to the final product than concept art tends to be. But word on the street is that it got scrapped anyways so
I wish I wasn’t too young because I’d love to work on my little pony! I already have an idea for G6 but unfortunately I cant, I grew up with G4 of mlp and took it to heart, especially pinkie pie. I’d love to create something as amazing as Lauren, but I know nothing can be as incredible as G4
Really sad about the news of gen 5 haven’t been able to process it. Felt like it all just started. Not sure how I’m gonna feel about any future MLP plans
Right off the bat I want to say as a huge fan of FiM, I actually saw SOME potential in G5, and enjoyed it for what it was (which was a show targeted at little girls, seemingly even more so than G4, which isn't necessarily a bad thing). I'll admit that I actually liked Twilight and Spike being included, even though it didn't make complete sense. I just personally like to justify it as an AU separate from the events that took place at the end of FiM. So I am a little sad it was canned, but maybe it is for the best. As for the future, I might check it out purely out of curiosity, but I don't plan on getting very invested. It's painfully clear we will never get a TRUE successor to G4, but at least that doesn't take away from what FiM was and will always be.
@@MidwestRailroadProductions Citation needed? (Given the stuff involved in a show being successful or not, that can interfere, it seems really bold, and in need of evidence, to suggest one factor (like some fans (not "adult fanbase on the whole" which IMO is disingenuous framing on its own) can cause its downfall.
It really just boils down to if you like it or dont like it at this point. Fans of G4 are what keep it alive so as long as there are fans of it thats good. Hasbro has a problem of trying new things coming from Transformers the corporate overlords REALLY cant let go of G1 which is damaging its popularity. G4 MLP is to many mlp fans as G1 was to transformers fans They're iconic to a fault where in a future that nostalgia reigns in theyd rather feed into then try something new unfortunately
Well. All I can say is I'm glad I opted out of future iterations and kept my hooves firmly planted in the G4 universe. Things are crazy enough here. Though every April Foals and Nightmare Night, we do have an opportunity to masquerade and introduce some chaos from other generations. I'm sure we'll get G6 sometime soon. Though when we do have a little fun, the only generation that is largely ignored is G3.5 Newborn Cuties. It's generally frowned upon. We usually don't talk about that generation.
It's a shame about Gen 5. I was putting off watching gen 5 as I was still feeling sore about falling out with the brony fandom for how toxic it was and with the show itself degrading in terms of wiriting quality, that I never took the chance to look for new reviews from fresher prespectives as I wanted to take a very long break from mlp series and it's toxic brony fandom for the sake of media diet and mental health respectivly. Might make tentative steps in watching the show but on my own terms alone, as for gen 6, I'm not happy hearing about these rumors showcased here as it really seems more shackled to nostalgia with bringing half of the mane 6 back but am happy that some of the characters from gen 5 are being kept around, but even then I want to avoid giving hasbro as much or any money as possible for how bad it's been as a company recent;y.
We don't actually know if Hasbro is going with "Camp Cutiemark" as their final "G6" product. All we know is that CCM was part of multiple other pitches, and CCM was the only one that was actually leaked. After all, the CCM pilot is described as a "Pitch Video" so it's entirely possible that there were other pitch videos that weren't leaked. CCM is also very interesting, because CCM ALLEGEDLY originally began as a Cutie Mark Crusaders spinoff show back in 2016/17, was recycled and was pitched as a potential "G5" show in 2017 proper, put on the shelf for like 6 years, and is NOW being pitched AGAIN. So is CCM G6? I'unno. Everything is so up in the air, that I'm just kinda forced to sit here and wait for more leaks. I hope whatever G6 turns out being is great. People do have high hopes for the franchise, and it's a good sign that Hasbro is taking an entire year or more to actually develop the show, instead of doing a MYM and rushing the shit out of the animation studio. A few people I talk to have said that the cancellation of TYT might be because of "G6" and Hasbro wanting more people from Little Critters Workshop to work on the project. But Little Critters also did lay off a bunch of people after the cancellation of TYT, so who knows? (Also, G6 is in quotes because Hasbro doesn't like that word lmao. It's been leaked, with CCM, that internally they are calling this new project "G4.1" or "G4 2.0")
the fact that g5 feels like its barely started and is already dead is just. saying so much

Don't forget that when G5 came out, all our favorite characters from G4 died, and if G5 hadn't been a sequel to G4, they would still be alive.
It’s tiring to see people dismiss an entire work just because “characters in the current entry have to resolve a conflict that was unresolved by characters from the previous entry.” MLP G5 had plenty of problems, but this wasn’t one of them.
that’s what real life is like
If they wanna chase nostalgia so much, why don't they just make it focused on flurry heart? The crystal empire and how it fares under a new ruler and her learning how to rule, the social norms from being a born alicorn compared to twilight and her mom? What about the stained glass window we never got to see how she earned, or the places closer to the crystal empire we haven't explored? How she rules with twilight and how controlling Twilight could be? Especially with the dark topic of her friends getting older whilst she is immortal
That would take good writers which MLP has not had for years and which Hasbro has no intention of procuring.
I feel like Hasbro hoped G5 would become an explosive success like G4 and when it didn’t live up to expectations, they threw it away
Also Camp Cutie Mark was apparently scrapped so they’re likely going for a different idea
To my knowledge it hasn't been scrapped. A slightly different idea where Tell Your Tale would be turned into a full G4 crossover series was abandoned, along with the rest of the show, but that was a separate thing that preceded Camp Cutie Mark
No idea what they are doing lol

Hasbro hasn't officially confirmed anything, except that there will be a brand reboot in 2026 (in a magazine article) and that the Camp Cutie Mark leak was real (by trying to get it taken down)
To my knowledge Camp Cutie Mark has not been cancelled, and if they did cancel it recently then they'd have to do a mad scramble to get something released in 2026, and that would probably be even worse
i can imagine they would postpone any mlp releases now@@overcast07
no way they would ever put g4/equestria to rest, friendship is magic blew way the fck up, they'll milk it till the world ends
@@Synergetic32X wouldnt they have kept g4 running if they actually wanted to milk it

G5's lack of merch (despite having more console games than G4) will always be something that somewhat froze it in time for me. Nobody wanted the 2021 merch, even years later, and especially not the ones which are literal G4.5 Ponylife recolours.
That on new CEO who wanted to abandoned toys for video game
At this point, the fandom will turn into what the Pokémon fandom turned back in 2010

I feel like Hasbro missed a opportunity to make a Celestia and Luna spinoff series
They missed the chance to make a LOT of spinoff series - or to experiment with them - Celestia and Luna, the Young Six, hell, a mini series following the pillars from when they were united by Stigeon, to when they went into limbo, would be epic!
Never Forget: *Lauren Faust knew what was best for My Little Pony and Hasbro ultimately betrayed her.*
So you just wanted a three seasons show? With that the show would ended quickly forgotten and just be another tv kids show who barely someone know lol
If Musk buys Hasbro, I'm done. 😢
@@82dorrin Hasbro might actually be stupid enough to sell to Elon, which worries me the most

@@monstrouspegasister
It kinda started as just a backstory for the Crystal Empire, but grew to include parts of Equestria and even way beyond. I only discovered the official MLP comics after almost halfway through writing, so they're basically replaced by my project lol.
@@monstrouspegasister
Bit of a long read but here's some more details if you'd like them!
They were. Unfortunately, the food didn't last long enough to stop them from finding -- alternatives.)
A unicorn father and his daughter, Moon Spark, were among those trapped in the cave.
The G5 merchandise might be worth a lot in the future due to how short lived it was.
Well, yes, it's kind of like the BWBA era of Thomas, heck, even the reboot is lasting even more.
Imagine how hard it would have gone if they made:
My long comment got auto-deleted ;_;
I'll try and make it shorter:
Hasbro would have made boatloads of money with better products, they put out mediocre toys and tie-in media for a massively popular cultural phenomenon tier series. FIM wasn't a financial failure, but Hasbro chose to cut corners instead of investing more and thus making far more profit.
Some examples of products they could have made that would have made BANK
1. There was massive demand for show-accurate plush toys, Hasbro produced lumpy, stringy haired rejects that look like knock-offs. Actual knock-offs were able to cash-in with accurate plushes of characters
3. Show accurate figures with better quality sculpting and poseable limbs, maybe about the size of a brushable, but with neck, shoulder and knee articulation, everyone wanted this pretty early on in the show's run
4. Throwing one out to the classic MLP collectors, more variety in brushables, rather than only a few moulds
As long as the current CEO is the CEO all the fans of all their franchises won’t be having fun.
yes this current CEO IS THE WORST
The ceo thinks that he can make mlp as big as g4 was with a budged of 2 hair pins and a bag of potato chips
@@HandheldGamer1991 Clearly they need 4 hair pins, 2 bags of chips, and a dozen saddle bags to go with it. 😂
In all seriousness, I think Hasbro is way overthinking it in terms of what it needs to do to make a show that (REGARDLESS of if it is as big as FiM or not - which seems like a foolish amount of pressure to put on a generation) can stand and do well.
IF this gets made, Hasbro won't have any say in it, they'll have to license the IP to somebody else.
they’re actually doing it 😭😭😭
Honestly i'll never understand why Hasbro just didn't get Lauren Faust to write like another universe or screen play or something since her vision for MLP in the past worked so well and obviously a lot of the charm MLP FIM had also came from the great writers but like why not preserve as many great talents as much as possible???
It would be a win-win.
my head cannon is that g5 is just in a universe that starlight glimmer messed up in the season 5 finale
That doesn't make any sense, like G5 wouldn't even exist if the mane 6 never met because Equestria would've been vaporized at that point
At that point why even bother making it a sequel to G4?
That feeling when your top three fav mane six characters completely lack the three most popular/marketable ones
clicked on this because i saw elon musk in the thumbnail and i just HAD to know.
for MY SANITY.
Agreed
@@punkysnarks Aryanne did nothing wrong.
my main problem with G5 is the fact its a G4 sequel despite every generation previously was never a sequel.
Eh, I strongly disagree - it's not the idea of being in the same timeline that is bad per-se, it's the way they go about it.
Hasbro half-assed trying to do beast wars again
Camp Cutie Mark was scrapped iirc.
Honestly I just hope G6 ends up being G3-adjacent
Also I want that Fluttershy shirt shown in the video, lol... I'm not opposed to a nostalgia fueled resurgence of merchandise for G4, and I love Hot Topic.
I’ve watched parts of the video your describing (a report/mlp fan’s report, not the original obviously) and here’s what I remember skimming over:
Twilight is a young pony who hasn’t earned her cutie mark yet (I think). Pinkie and Rainbow dash also show up at some point (I think Rainbow is introduced by flying inside too fast and crashing into a lunchtable?)
Twi becomes friends with the three other ponies and she remarks how she now thinks her time in the camp will be fun and exciting, she can’t wait to see what will happen, or something like that.
Also the entire thing was voice acted by some women I didn’t recognize.
I have a theory that when LPS has a good era MLP has a flop era and vice versa
What's with all the shows and movies that revolve around summer camp? I've yet to meet anyone who actually went to camp as a kid, but Hollywood would have me believe I missed out on some sacred American rite of passage.
And as a non American it feels super alien to me and wholly uninteresting 😭🤣
Can you explain please?
@@Illogical_Taleseither an animated art style more similar to old Cartoon Network, or stuff like magical girl shows like Precure or the Japanese rendition of the Powerpuff Girls.
@@amandaslough125 If you think about it, MLPFIM was a magical girl series 🫠
im hoping that the g4 and g5 characters are just placeholders like with g5 where they based the personalities off them. g6 not being a continuation is already an improvement so not all hope is lost
Former brony here. I think that these series that Hasbro annnouced was a multiverse. It will be good?
Since there aren't any other comments, I will say that I'm gay.

That's..not the gay flag in ur profile 🙂
Season 10’s already over though.
I don't want tribal fights between my cute rainbow colored horses??
if elon bought hasbro future iterations of rainbow dash would recolor her mane to the straight pride flag
G6 should be a Last of Us style apocalypse series
1:35 Doc Anubis uploaded the Scrapped TYT Episodes and Specials
Yeah, at least those storyboarders’ and animators’ (for the special) efforts haven’t gone completely to waste
Hasbro need to pick up someone that actually cares about My Little Pony and understands how a new generation should work without re using the ideias Faust had or maybe even taking some inspiration from it but still trying it's best to be different.
Honestly if I had control over what the next generation of MLP would look like I would go for a series that appeals to the fans who “grew up with it”.
I think they should use different characters, to use characters both from g4 and g5 seems odd to me. but i guess it would technically be an au since it wouldnt be canon with what we know.
As long they get rid of cellphones and social media in the setting, it's gonna be at least mildly enjoyable.
They should make the ponies sexier in the next show
Thanks Mista
Tbh I feel the same about care bears and furbies, franchise are running on nodstalgia while kind of just fumbling around creativly
3:12 what I want to know is that will this open the door on a possible return for Equestria Girls?! Because the majority of the fan base (including myself) we're upset that it never got a proper ending
Thoughts on tamers12345 mlp content?
One thing to keep in mind is that G4 started in 2010, which is pretty long ago. Those were different times. Back then, MLP didn't have to address short attention span viewers to gain attention as much as it has to nowadays (or so corporate thinks). Dark times are ahead indeed.
*(or so corporate thinks).*
Yeah, IMO the "short attention spa" narrative always felt sus to me.
Giving kids trash stories that fit those short time lengths only worsen those attention spans.
i honestly don't mind them making new characters i just want the story (and toys) to be good..
@Shunks, I hope you can do more LPS videos like the rise and fall of Julie McNally Cahill and Tim Cahill's adaption LPS 2012 show.
something im afraid of is the possibility of hasbro dropping mlp completely because it will never reach the high that it did back in the early 2010s. do they realize how much of a lightning of a bottle event the success of G4 was?
They could roll in money if they just give the show back to dhx hire all the same ppl and tell idw make more comics instead of taking the license away from them and grying to find a cheaper aka worse publisher!!!! also contact enterplay to make more cards pol lirerally import cards from china! Yes from china to collect more mlp and hasbro is like duh we font know how to use our ip duh?!?!
I jate hasbto its such a dumb co pany run by morons!!!!
I amt belive china freaking chona shows mlp more love then hasbro itself its absurd!
*do they realize how much of a lightning of a bottle event the success of G4 was?*
I disagree strongly.
FIM wasn't really lightning in a bottle, it was bound for success, in spite of Hasbro's mostly lacklustre merchandise.
as far as i'm concerned G5 and the fast forward episode don't exist and the show ended open ended for more adventures.
Mlp was at its best during g3 and early g4, I hope another gen will be filled with life again the way was
The leaked video wouldn’t be concept art per say, but a proof of concept, test or internal pilot. It could potentially look a lot closer to the final product than concept art tends to be. But word on the street is that it got scrapped anyways so
I wish they would make something new instead of half-assedly clinging to G4. Feels like a mediocre compromise.
I didn't know G5 is over and I'm honestly glad, i blame G5 for killing off the fandom, with its massive downgrade in quality over its predecessor
That outro music triggered some decade old PTSD
I mean the adult Fanbase kinda ruined My Little Pony Make Your Mark/My Little Pony a New Generation for its target audience so yeah.
Yup I feel like at this point we’ve should have just gotten milkyway and the galaxy girls instead… 😔 yeah…
2:56 I Wish The Future of Mlp is something like this, This animation was so Cool, but it was short.
many planned episodes of G5 got leaked on RUclips as well, I won't go linking those though
Not surprising, after what happened when the Transformers One movie premiered last year.
If this is how it actually happens, I would adore the new series, RD and Zipp are my favorite characters, so seeing RD returning would be amazing

You scared me into thinking this meant musk did buy hasbro already
What's the name of the song that plays in 6:42? Also, the video was great
