I'm gonna make this a pinned comment to address some of the common questions from this - first of all, please remember that this is *very experimental* and *Minecraft Java was not made to run on a phone.* If you are looking for a serious replacement for Pocket Edition, expecting good performance and no issues, this might not be for you. *- New download link:* I noticed a lot of people having issues finding the correct APK and runtime files because not many people are familiar with how GitHub releases work. I updated the download link to a website I made which just groups all the files together, so it's easier to find: mcinabox.fredward.xyz/downloads (download v0.1.3 and Runtime Pack V1) *- Typing on signs/servers:* Enable the icon in the onscreen control panel, then tap the text box that appears at the top right for typing input. *- Mouse movement issues:* If you're having trouble moving your mouse in more recent versions, this can be solved by disabling "RAW MOUSE INPUT" in the in-game settings (under controls > mouse) *- New Versions:* Versions above 1.12 are having various issues. Some people can get them to work, some people can't, it all depends on your phone and there's not much I can do if the newest version doesn't work for you. I did manage to get 1.16 working, but only around 30fps and both optifine and sodium (fabric) don't work yet. *- Shaders:* Shaders are theoretically supported but most of the popular ones aren't compatible. Basically, someone would have to make shaders specifically for this type of GPU (which as far as I'm aware hasn't been done yet) *- Keyboard/Controller support:* Mouse/keyboard doesn't work very well. I don't have a bluetooth controller, but I imagine it's probably not supported since the controller input would have to be redirected from the app to Java. Maybe the app developer will include this in the future? *- Java key defaults:* T opens chat, E opens inventory, SPACE is jump, CTRL is sneak. Movement is W, A S and D. In general, this is a fun project but it's not very polished yet. I didn't make this app, I just made this video to show how I got it working. It won't work for everyone. If you have any specific issues I recommend checking the comments to see if anyone else had it, or reporting it as a bug/issue on the github page directly to the developer.

I thought it wouldn't work for me at first because it kept crashing Everytime I tried to launch the game but all I had to do was lower my mb from 512 to 499 and it worked perfectly, optifine doesn't work as good but messing with settings I got it to work, this application is amazing

I never knew this existed, it's magical seeing Hypixel being played on a phone. I remember back in like 2015/2016 I always wanted to play on Java servers but only had Pocket Edition. This is like a dream come true.
Maybe u forgot to select user and I wud prefer u to use pojav Launcher bcoz it's tooooooooooo easy to run not runtime installation needed no folder and everything is in app and it is available on GitHub and it's similar to MINECRAFT launcher in pc and it can run upto v1.11.2 smooootttthly and can install optifine without forge but u can't Install forge on it but don't worry they r regularly updating it and in next update we will have forges and v1.13
First you have to make profile, second you have to install runtime, third you have to install Minecraft. If it doesn't work, just refresh by tapping refresh button, if still don't work close app and open again, and select profile just tap the circle many times and go to home, select version and play I hope it works, I'm too stucked with this problem. Just try again try again!

I tried pojav Launcher and if u dont want lot of mess I wud prefer u to use pojav Launcher it's quite simple and launches upto v1.11.2 smoothly with optifine without forge. And it's quite simple very similar to MINECRAFT launcher in pc but it don't support forge but developers are adding forges in it and it's CONTINUOUSLY updating
Just download older versions 1.12 and below *should* work although I found some older versions also didn't work so it's really just random it seems. 1.8 works just fine on my razor phone 2 even on servers.
Well after countless hours of finding the right version, it is version 1.8.9 that runs perfectly, disabling mipmaps in the video settings made the game run like butter even without using optifine. Installing forge makes my game buggy, rendering is broken with black textures. Increasing ram size to 768 works for me. Gonna skip buying minecraft pocket edition if everything runs fine later when i test it again.
Hey this worked very well and was running great, I turned off my phone and played it a few times over the span of 2 hours but just now when ever i open the app it just rotates my screen like its about to start shows a brown screen which makes sense when starting up then flashes white for a second and rotates my screen back to normal and kicks me out of the app. Anyone know a fix for this? Edit: just go into the mcinabox folder and delete the mcinabox.json and it fixes it

What phone do you have? This can mean a few things: 1: Your phone is outdated 2: The app does not support your processor(sometimes an issue with huawei phones, or phones with a mediatek SOC's) 3: Somehow the application never finished downloading so you can't install it.

Depend's on the clock of your device CPU, you need around 1000 MHz (1.00 GHz) as default velocity in the CPU with 2GB - 4GB RAM. And if you want to use version's above 1.11 you will need 2000 MHz (2.00 GHz) as default velocity in the CPU and 3GB - 4GB if you want to run 1.16.1 or version's above 1.11.
No matter what I do it crashes. I allow the same amount of ram as you do but when I hit start it gives me a black screen for a few seconds but the crashes back to the launcher. Any idea why?

To get best performance you can install fabric instead of forge and sodium instead of Optifine. Sodium it's really the best to get your FPS higher.

What phone do you have? This can mean a few things:
1: Your phone is outdated
2: The app does not support your processor(sometimes an issue with huawei phones, or phones with a mediatek SOC's)
3: Somehow the application never finished downloading so you can't install it.

Which version are you using? I had that issue with 1.16 (hopefully it'll be fixed in an update!) but the other versions I tried all worked fine

Depend's on the clock of your device CPU, you need around 1000 MHz (1.00 GHz) as default velocity in the CPU with 2GB - 4GB RAM. And if you want to use version's above 1.11 you will need 2000 MHz (2.00 GHz) as default velocity in the CPU and 3GB - 4GB if you want to run 1.16.1 or version's above 1.11.
No matter what I do it crashes. I allow the same amount of ram as you do but when I hit start it gives me a black screen for a few seconds but the crashes back to the launcher. Any idea why?
