  • A very interesting and engaging Panel discussion on how Bharatanatyam art form is being perceived and pursued by the new generation parents and students. Extremely relevant for budding artists.
Natyakala Conference 2016, Krishna Gana Sabha, was held in Chennai recently where different aspects of dance, as it was, as it is and as it will be were discussed through various interesting sessions. For the complete video and other videos please see credits.

I am the only one interested in classical dance form in my office. I heard two colleagues praising that artiste. performed excellent and the dance should be performed in that way. Immediately. another said. that the artiste was Gopi Krishnaji. The persons who are not interested in the dance form. got interest. The classical dance form. should not be chaned under govt.ment intention to change Indian classical dance forms under. globalisation.

Please tell your students to learn our. Indian dance. which is devine to pass on to the future generation,. without expecting any income,. because. once if this dance form dies. cant be revived again. The. devine art form. should. be preserved, and performed without making any change ,like water which flows through a canal continuously. ,otherwise. cant be watched for a long time. You artists. can do a lot, to see that professionals or even students realise. that they can earn. continuously as a. professional. No body has come out with such a plan.

It is the audience never have I seen the audience so rude. I was a dancer, not jut bharatanatyam but all forms but my daughter has started bharatanatyam. She may not want this as a profession but I would like to watch her without rude audience.

Very beautifully spoken all teachers who have spent years to learn, perform, teach, and present awesome performances through your students. I am an ardent classical dance devotee based in Michigan for the past 4 decades, before which I spent eleven years in Canada. I have three daughters who all have learnt this sacred art form, from me, and also from my esteemed Gurus of Sri Rajarajeshwari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir in Bombay. My daughter Sri Vidya, has two solo dance World records for 48-hours when she was 18-19, in aid of the Michigan Cancer Society, and the second one, for 72-Hours,, in aid of the American Heart Association, in memory of her father Chandrasekhar. She performed over 400 pieces from my repertoire, and also created pieces from various great composers. Miles away from home, Bharata Natyam has been my
Constant support in life, and I am my Gurus messenger. I will be turning 80 years old, this year on October 5th. I started dancing when I was 3. Like Guru Parvathi said, our Hindu Temple Rhythms students are a very essential part of our institution here. Life is filled with many possibilities, My students, and the parents have helped me form a wonderful extended family around me., soaking me and my daughters in their love. I am humbled, grateful, and feel extremely blessed . I have enjoyed all of your performances, through You Tube, as I don’t come to Indis very often. I did present some students in their Arangetram in Mumbai & Chennai between 2007 to 2011. My eldest daughter is a Lupus patient for the past twenty years. So I cannot get away that far leaving her in this condition. I am hoping that the healing art of Bharata Natyam will cure her, and help her regain her original stature in the future. She has continued her research in art , does teach Bharata Natyam, and abhinayam, to students who seek her advice. She is also my vocalist and does Nattuvangam, for all our productions. This was certainly a lovely inter-active session between all you wonderful young dance Gurus. To all of yo, my admiration , best wishes, and prayers for your continued success.
Las Sai Baba advises, May Shraddha & Saburii I constantly motivate your work to greater heights. Thank you all. 🙏. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🙏
