Dunno, I guess he was just very hard on himself and maybe felt that it was too... cliched or something. Anyway, love this song too, and love Chad Channing's drumming
Shivers too. I get myself screaming like when I was a teen (I'm 37) listening to this, I just wish my voice could go as high and demented as Kurt's in those transitions
best ever I can see, I can hear ,,,,, ... hear voice full of pain.... One of the best .... please watch too - Nirvana - Big Long Now Live At Novoselic Residence, Aberdeen, WA, US - December, 1988
Kurt unfortunately decided he hated this song, along with others from the era such as Pen Cap Chew and Big Long Now for being too evil or something like that
@@Carveila I thought Big Long Now was his favourite bleach song? Can't remember where I heard that but... 😂 Still odd they only played it live like once if he did like it. (Correction: Bleach sessions, not the album) Looking back it mightve been sifting that he liked though I don't know...
Kurt disliked all his songs but he kept on singing them because he had bills to pay just each and every one of us living paycheck to paycheck. It wasn't just about paying his bills but kicking rock n' roll right up it's ass and taking it for a left turn. And that's exactly what the Mighty KC and the rest of Nirvana did. God bless Nirvana for creating original music from the heart and soul.
This song is about how hard life is when after your power yoga class, you discover the coconut water at the store is warm and the kale you have neen eating is not organic.
Okay so this song is a bit complicated but not really at the same time. You are correct but that's only 50% of it. The thing is, he was subconsciously discovering his own soul and the errors of society/himself and his own growth/damage during this time period. That's why you see songs on bleach be a bit more raw and emotionally in your face compared to nevermind and in utereo. The emotion in those albums were there but in poetic mind fuckery, maybe against people or acts of natures or the media because figure he had other issues once the band got bigger. In a way, this is really one of his most personal "growth" songs he's ever written emotionally and lyrically. The reason why he probably ended up hating it was because it was most likely too personal for him. He most likely subconsciously pushed it away because he was speaking too much about himself in a way.
wow, it's an old song. should have been on bleach. could have released another b side album before he was murdered by michael cali dewitt as under the instruction of courtney love.
The scream, even live gives me the chills
Especially live**
So far thats the best scream I’ve heard live. I’ve always loved those high pitched screams.
Listen to the video that has the setlist audio of this concert, the scream sounds even better there

My fav song, gives fuckin shivers,I don't think kurt hated this song,me personally think it's one of his best :)
Just wrote something similar on another video for the song! Jack Endino said Kurt disliked the song and I can't understand why
Dunno, I guess he was just very hard on himself and maybe felt that it was too... cliched or something. Anyway, love this song too, and love Chad Channing's drumming
Are you 100% sure? Did Chad played this song in the recorded version?
+Alvaro B No, Dale played. Chad wasn't around till around may 88. this was January 88
Shivers too. I get myself screaming like when I was a teen (I'm 37) listening to this, I just wish my voice could go as high and demented as Kurt's in those transitions

just like spankthru,,,,,,,,,biglongnow, ihatemyself`, acussations`and others
big long now should have been done on unplugged.
Kurt unfortunately decided he hated this song, along with others from the era such as Pen Cap Chew and Big Long Now for being too evil or something like that

I view this song as a pressured child whose parents force him to be perfect is the one speaking.
