Great video, really helpful! I have the V4 and when it works it’s great. Downside is can’t get it to update to latest software and I’d say 40% of the time the footage isn’t readable post session. Wondered if you updated the software and how you found the app?
We didn’t review the app in this video as we concentrated on the actual unit. But yes, the app is not the best, we are assured that Cambox are updating it. There is a new beta version of the app that we used, contact Cambox customer service chat, they will invite you to use the newer version
Thank you for your review! I was looking at these things, since I just came back from the track, did a go pro mouth mount, and aimed it upwards.. Just not quite the same as what I'm seeing... like it needs to be elevated. But looking at the quality, the stabilization... not quite there yet. I was actually looking at the Ray Ban Meta sunglasses/camera, but the 3 minute limit was a hard stop for me. And of course, Go-Pro Drop down to in front of your eyes are quite dangerous...
The stabilisation is fine for karting, it depends on a lot of things, but for us, it was much better than mounting a camera on the kart due to the pov. You get to see everything that the driver sees.
Thanks for the informative review! Just bought this for my motorcycle helmet. I just hate driving around having a camera protruding out of my helmet, this makes it more sleek and without having to add a whole bunch of different mounts
There is a beta version of the app that we used, and this worked with the V3. If you contact the Cambox customer service chat, they may invite you to use the newer beta version. We primarily used the onboard controls. Hope that helps!
i like the idea of the pov inside the helmet would be interesting to see a clear visor view if the sun effects the exposure more than having a tinted visor but better than nothing if they wont let you use a external gopro would like to see how it looks in the rain
Do you know how to view your videos on a Laptop via Windows? Couldn't access it once plugged in with the USB and the App only supports V4's. I've got the V3+
It’s a simple as removing the sd card from the unit and put it into your laptop. You may need to download a new windows add on to play it, it windows will search for that automatically
GoPro brackets on the helmet are not the best as they can cause injury if the driver comes out the kart or is driven over by another kart. Plus, most tracks have banned any attachment to a helmet for that reason. Hence the Cambox idea
Still a few generations off being worthwhile by the looks of it
Got the V3+ and a new kart. Can't wait to start getting footage of my races.
What app is it for the iPhone??? I cannot find the app at all
@@rcourtney4 They only seem to have an app for the V4 at the moment.
Very informative video for persons who love karting gadgets
Thanks for the comment 👍

Where is the Cambox V3+ app??? I cannot find it. All I see is the Cambox app but it says it’s only compatible with V4 and up

Looked like the v3 looked better quality then the v4 strange that, well from the footage it looked like that. Very good video though
I guess you never heard of a chin mount for the GoPro, giving you the best POV around 😂

@@zenicoracing thanks for the information. I didn't know little track go kart places banned them.
Definitely not worth the price. Quality is trash compared to insta360 and gopro
