Hello there! Long time broadcaster here. Master Control, IT, and Engineering. Recently started directing the news back at my home station which is a small one man directing operation using a program called vMix. Really cool to see how its done in a bigger market.

Boy, six years, things have really changed. Automation eliminating or revising job functions, if you are lucky and your station isn’t being run from a remote control room

Also, I wasn’t away Snell and Wilcox made production switchers. Although at first, I thought that “Kahuna” was a GV product.

Very nice. Calm and relaxed. I would have liked to have heard director more with the PGM audio lower… And instead of thee SIDE view of the director, I would have liked to be able to see the rack of monitors a little better. Also, are this CG’s changing and transitioning automatically? Does the newsroom system control the CG’s through the switcher somehow? Thanks!

I wonder if other CBS affiliates owned by gray television have a similar control room design.

Awesome! Good luck with your classes! Local news can be a grind, but it’s a lot of fun seeing everything come together for a live newscast. Let me know if you have any other questions at all!

Depends the market your in. Some smaller markets don't pay a lot for the same work, which is a tragedy.
