Wow, year before I was born. The island as my late parents would of known. So much has changed, yet so much hasn’t. Thank you for this, brought back the memories of driving along with them and the smell of cigarette smoke.
Lived in Warden Bay from 1975 to 1978, aged 12 to 15, often cycled across Sheppey. Only been back a couple of times, but noticed that Eastchurch is now bypassed!
Cool video. I've been working on Isle of Sheppey for the past month. It's amazing to see how much it's changed. Although the video is very fast I can still recognise some points of reference.
Would happily watch this in real time. Please upload if you can. I was born on Sheppey in 77 but my mum moved there some years before. She'd love to watch this footage in real time.
Although not really feasible to convert well as it was filmed in stop motion, it is possible on TVs computers & slowdown a recprding in settings. Hope this helps.
Thanks for contact. Would this be part or whole of video; any credit in description given? Unfortunately music cannot be used, but gather that is not required. Best...
@@awol116thank you very much - I will add your name and tag in the description if that is okay? If there is anything else you want me to include in it, let me know
Bloody hell it took me 6.39 seconds minutes to go from the town clock to mr Bs in laysdown on my Yamaha RD350 lc back in the early 80s ? Was beaten by Gary morgan’s or Lee on there Suzy x7 ? But beat him on the Westminster to the steel mill return race ? He blew his bike to smithereens 😊
Bro l tell my kids stories like this and even l can’t believe how fast we used to go from A to B back in the day! You could 100% concentrate on driving as no worries bout speed cameras, push bikes, jobs-worthies taking dash cams of you, or idiot RUclipsrs whipping their mobies out to incriminate you! And out of the 5 of us nut jobs, not 1 accident in alllllll those years as there was hardly any traffic!
Bought back memories, I lived there until '73/4.
How was Sheppey back then?
I lived there then, I was 11 in 75, great memories - thanks for the vid

Excellent tour of the island, thanks!
Thanks, Marilyn.

1:14 The pastel blue fiat 500 ? That was on the corner where Wards Hill becomes Union Road. That car was there for years.

It seemed strange going through Blue Town the" wrong" way in the car.( It's now one way).
Great nostalgic footage.
Not only is it speeded up, but there are jump cuts when suddenly a car in front disappears without having overtaken them.
Hi - please can I use this video as part of a music video? Really great video!

This is great, but at that speed, way too close to the car in front 😉
