fun fact. Toward the end of many of his tours, when he sang his song, he actually was so full of emotion, he cried. He is one of the rare actual REAL SOULFUL singers
This man is the real deal. He doesent need any tecnical support such as autotuner or pitch correction and A1. He is definetly one of the best male singers of all time and master of every music genre. ❤
Such a beautiful song. Wouldn't it be lovely to have someone write a song like that for you. For another ballad try Touch of Paradise. Such a beautiful song. Written by his freind Ross Wilson of Mondo Rock. ❤❤❤❤❤
This song always pulls at the heart strings. Such a beautiful song sang by the best male vocalist ever in my opinion. Another beautiful song from this same concert is “a touch of paradise”
Farnsey is just 4 years older than me. I've followed him right from the very start of his career. He is a part of the fabric of my life. I never go through a whole day without listening to his fabulous voice. My devotion to him has been there since the first time I heard his voice. Thank you for this great reaction. Please keep reacting to our John. The list of his songs is endless, and they are all awesome!!
The song he throws the mic stand was “you’re the voice” he threw it up in the air, caught it and then threw it across the stage all while singing, John is so talented. This is a beautiful performance and song as is pretty much everything is that John does. There is a lot more to discover from John out there. Great reaction.
Right? I would need an oxygen mask after the first chorus already 😂 for him it's a breather... but hey, what else to expect from someone who sings Black dog from Led Zeppelin as a warm up song on his sound check? 😂
Phil Buckly is deadset an unsung Australian hero. I met him once, and -typically - he was just a down to earth top bloke. I've met a fair few well known Aussie musos over the years, and they're all the same. I'm a life long muso, and they all just seem like all of my muso mates. Not one was rude or arrogant. We make em good here in Australia :P
Nice Reaction, I just listened to a YT video of John, at 70 yrs, singing the Queen hit 'We will Rock you'. At 70, singing an octave above the original ! GOAT !
@@musikbyjh It's just 8am here on the East coast at the moment - so still before work on a Friday morning, not really peak time for watching RUclips here yet! :)
Hey from Aus..🦘♥️..guys, you have to gear Farnsey sing When the war is over...a classic Cold Chisel song...then the duo Farnsey and Barnsey (jimmy Barnes) singing "When something's wrong with my baby."... it's like WHAT?!!👍😂💕...no wuccas!
Throwing the microphone stand was during the performance of You're The Voice, immediately after the bagpipe solo; a lot of people miss him tossing it in the air like a baton, then after catching it throws is across the stage only to later foot lift it back up. John is a great showman(not show off).
Co written by John and 2 others on tour with him to all of their wives. Telling them not to get mad and hang up the phone because it is just as hard for them to be away. They wrote one verse each. There is no grit or rasp when John sings Opera, Christmas Carols or Please Don’t Ask Me with Olivia Newton John. From the Main Event Concert. That complete concert is on RUclips if you just want to watch it. You will see what a comedian he is on stage and it was one of his best that toured with Anthony Warlow and Olivia for 3 months. Please Don’t Ask Me was a John solo hit but right now we prefer the Duet from this concert with Livvie. If you haven’t seen it, it is so beautiful. They started out as teens and were friends for life. Thank you, I needed a John fix.
Thank you for making the effort to pronounce 'Aussie' the right way. Just think 'Ozzy' as in Ozzy Osbourne and you'll be reminded of it. It cracked me up when you tried to pronounce Farnsey the way we do, because I realised it's the same way Americans pronounce Fonzi from Happy Days 😂 Great to see you react to one of our living legends. We were so lucky to have someone of his calibre performing so brilliantly for so long 😊
John & his Wife Jill have been married for 50 years! He is just a beautiful Human! We love you John. It sounds like you haven't done John & Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask me. You really need to do that one.
You do pronounce AuSSie correctly. We Aussies don't. We love to shorten words, often to an E on the end and are lazy with our speech . My name has a double SS in it and it still gets turned into a Z ! It drives me nuts, even being an Aussie ! John loves his wife dearly and is proud to show that. He wrote this song, with others, while away on tour in Asia. This is one of the main reasons why much of the world has never heard of him. John quickly decided that he missed his wife, children, other family and friends and Australia so much that he put them before a world-wide career. John sings in over 20 genres -- from such ballads to heavy rock and everything in between. He is a singing genius !
The harmonica you heard was played by Steve Williams who plays the clarinet solo on “”A Touch of Paradise” and saxophone on John’s other songs. He does a fantastic harmonica solo on “Chain Reaction”. That’s him on the YT thumbnail for the song. Highly recommended!
Give a listen to Johns version of "Black Gol" ( auio only ) as it was only a "warm up "before a concert and an engineer was lucky enough to record it, not everyone knows it exists....OUTSTANDING.
The break/pause in the beginning of the song caught the audience off guard, as John was waiting for them to song the start of the chorus. If you like this, you MUST check out John's duet with Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event Concert, the chemistry between these two long-time friends is both mesmerizing and soul reaching; John has recorded a solo performance of this song, but it is so much more as a duet.
Cheers guys You need to listen to another Aussie ledgen Jimmy barnes in cold chisel before going solo Look up cold chisel wild thing live performance last stand version This is early days for them and band has another singer Ian moss He's a brilliant guitar 🎸 player and you'll see some of his talent on guitar John and Jimmy done a few collaboration together and sing each other's songs in their own concerts Commonly known as farnsy and barnsey Have a good 🦘🇦🇺👍
You might like to go down the rabbit hole with Australian OZZY artist ,check out the trail blazers from STRAYA from the early 60's with the Seekers and very young Bee Gees , Easybeats , John Farnham and Olivia Newton John together in the late 60's early 70's ,Then in 1973 in Sydney came AC/DC and Cold Chisel , In the 80's John Farnham re invented as Whispering Jack we had Icehouse Gangajang the Angels the list goes on .
For some grit, you need to check out Jimmy Barnes(from Cold Chisel) with John Farnham sing a Sam and Dave song, When Something is Wrong With My Baby from Jimmy's Soul Deep concert; try their performance at the 1991 ARIA Awards, or from the aussie tv show Hey Hey It's Saturday. The guitarist is Johnny Diesel, brother-in-law of Jimmy Barnes; another great Australian artist, from Diesel and The Injectors.
You guys should check out John and Jimmy Barnes singing When something is wrong with my baby, I'm sure you'll love it. For something really special try Kasey Chambers cover of Eminems Lose Yourself.
G'day mates, this aussie just became a subscriber. I would love it if you would react to Aussie band called boom crash opera please. They're a great band but no one will honour my request. If you would be so kind, dancing in the storm would be great

One of the best singers ever !!!!!
Amazing how he says he uses this as a breather! 😳 some of those gaps in between breaths are ridiculous 😂. Absolute legend 👏👏
Right?!?! I couldn't believe that either! ❤️,🥷🏻
Right? I would need an oxygen mask after the first chorus already 😂 for him it's a breather... but hey, what else to expect from someone who sings Black dog from Led Zeppelin as a warm up song on his sound check? 😂
Phil Buckle, Ross Fraser and John Farnham wrote this.
Such a pure voice with no auto tune then and … no FaceTime technology to communicate with his wife Bach then so he gave her this beautiful song.
So romantic. Love it!! ❤️,🥷🏻
Gorgeous song. 'Touch of Paradise' is also an amazing ballad from John.
Lovely couple.
Nothing better than a bit of Farnsey to start the day off
There might be one.... have to say I'm a bit partial to a bit of AC/DC Powerage in the mornings :P

Thank you for reacting to the legendary John Farnham!
I think you'll also enjoy John's duet with the late Olivia Newton-John, "Please Don't Ask Me".
I always cry when I hear this one... how can you not
Right?! It was hard!!
This was my late fiancees' favourite John Farnham song
Always a good day with some Farnsey
We think so too, Kitty!! Although we are shocked Farnsy isn't getting more love...perhaps our fav Aussies just haven't gotten wind yet. Hugs! ❤️,🥷🏻

The dreaded Timezone difference, for me videos drop at 2:30am so I catch them after Night Shift, but the rest of the Aussies be sleeping.
Thank you so much for reacting to one of Australia's best voices !!! Great channel guys ✌✌✌🇦🇺

My ovaries explode every time this man sings

Beautiful song..John Farnham melts your heart.
Now you have to do "Help". Live with the Melbourne Symphony orchestra is the best live vocal ever performed.
That was my first Farnsy reaction! ✌🏽

Black DOG I meant.
He sang with Laura Brannigan, Tom Jones, Olivia N-J, LRB, 1992 JC Superstar final night (Gethsemane), Ray Charles…

It’s during ‘You’re the Voice’ that he throws the mic stand. Not ‘Help’
You should listen to John sing When the war is over. It’s special.
Most singers would have this as a main piece and John says I'll do this to catch my breath then holds a note for haw long ????
You should react to John sing Angels
You're the voice of the one he throws the mine stand.
