      Cheers for this, I been tryin to find out about "compression knee massager review" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Ieyameron Unexpected Improvement - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to end your mind-numbing knee pain without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my neighbour got cool success with it.

      Subscribed to the channel because I like what you guys have to say in general. However, why not at least briefly discuss the root cause of tightness in this region? Techniques to get loosened up are great but it doesn't do much if there's no foundation for movement. And I'm not writing this as someone who's figured it out. I'm trying to diagnose why I'm super tight this area myself.

    Thank you very very much Matt and Maks! I am using your FAI Fix program for a week now and I finally feel a relief and can walk normally again. Now I know there is a cure for my terrible hips condition which I was having for three long years, I have been diagnosed with the FAI and early arthritis and have been suggested a surgery. Once again, thank you from the heart, you gave me hope and practically my life back!

    Yep, been suffering from hip pain for a couple years. Walking for any length of time caused pain to worsen to the point I would start limping. Decided to try a foam roller and tennis ball to locate trigger points in my hip and glutes, and while the exercises themselves were extremely uncomfortable (releasing trigger points kinda hurts) the relief was almost instant. 10/10 highly recommend!

    Aloha! I love self discovery and awareness! This is great. I have done this technique for years (on the floor) with a tennis ball. I recently had a THR and long before my surgery, I was doing this to several muscles that were contributing to my pain. At the same time, I realized that the tension was caused by "dysfunction" in my hip. It's a little too soon after my surgery, but I do think those muscles will be tight and painful even after my recovery. The THR will resolve some issues, but not all. Continuing to learn all that I can. Thanks for your dedication and commitment to UPright Health. :)

    I’m going to try this today. I’ve been having outrageous pain in my left hip for the last 3 days. I’m a soccer player, and I had a match today, so I was working around the clock to try to release the tension with 1000 different stretches and massages before today. Saw my physio this morning and he did deep tissue massage on my medius and Iliacus. Wondering why it didn’t really help, this entire time it’s been my TFL. Thank you for this

      Meet Virginia If you're having hip issues you should really consider buying the FAI Fix program from Upright Health, i had pain in my hips for three years and I am doing this program for only a week now, I can tell you my hips are in much much better shape already, no more terrible pinching pain on the side of my left hip which made me almost paralyzed many times, I could barely walk, I still have a long way ahead of me but now I know there is a cure. Btw. I have been diagnosed with the FAI and early stage of arthritis after the MRI and surgeon of course told me the surgery is the only option for me. I am so glad he was wrong and Upright Health was right.

    Try the side of a counter top, side of a desk or even a railing, I found this helpful for when I'm out and about an gets tense.

    Lying down on a soft ball is perfect.

  • @rachkate76

    I've been using a firm spiky massage ball and roller but find that unless I use them every single day, the tightness just comes right back!
    Sometimes you're still too sore to do it every damn day.
    Also, for the amount of tender spots on the side, back of hip, TFL along the ITB etc takes aaaages.
    My QL is also really tight on both sides but I don't find the massage ball helps- only remedial massage.
    Plus there's kidneys and floating ribs back there so I can't do it with confidence.

    Excellent videos. I have been struggling with hip pain for years and was exercising and stretching with little effect. Now I'm activating new muscles stretching and using lacrosse ball to release connective fascia still early days but I'm amazed how badly the fascia has tightened it's so painful at first but worth persisting.

    These are the EXACT same places where I experience discomfort. My question is: why do these two (seemingly) different muscles flare up at the same time? Not sure about other but sometimes I also get tightness in the muscle that runs along my spine in conjunction with this hip pain.

    This looks amazing! I suffer with lower back pain (chronic) and have recently been diagnosed with greater trochanteric bursitis of the hip and gluteal tendonopathy. Would this be safe to do in my case or would it irritate the tendons and the bursa? Thank you! I’ve been in excruciating pain for years and am determined to beat this.

    there is a risk of nerve damage using dense balls and hard foam rollers. I do not recommend. I've had a client get total numbness and weakness from this.

    • @Uprighthealth
      @Uprighthealth  5 лет назад +10

      There is also a risk of nerve damage from hiring someone to jam their elbow or forearm into your hip flexors and lateral hips. Some people have had bad experiences with Rolfing making symptoms worse. Should we also say that everyone should stay away from all Rolfers? Scaring people away from helping themselves with extraordinarily rare edge cases is not sensible and keeps people in pain for no good reason. The simpler, more empowering fix is to remind people: "LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. HARDER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER."

    • @taoofwater1
      @taoofwater1 5 лет назад +1

      I'm not insulting what you do I'm just saying that these tools are a bad idea. You don't need to insult me or my line of work. In my 11 years of experience I've never hurt anyone's hip working on the lateral hip. I have however seen clients injure themselves using a lot of these tools. It may be because most of the time these people don't know what they're doing with them but also because of the direction of pressure when you go rolling on these things. So yes I would say don't do it or get a melt method roller.
