Fitness Trainer Al Kavadlo shares tips on how to progress and master the back bridge exercise in order to build a stronger spine and posterior chain Visit www.AlKavadlo.com for more
Thanks ever so much for sharing this Al! Funnily enough this is perfect timing for me to be watching this video,as I've started to practice towards the back bridge again. 😁👍!!
Great stuff Al mate. I am working on this as have a pretty locked up scapular - I especially like the rolling on the swiss ball spine mobility tip! Thank you as always!!
Every time I do the back bridge I get sore in my upper back. This is such a good exercise to target all those weak little muscles that otherwise never get worked with things like pull ups.
Hey hey hey Al! I'm glad you're OK. Bridge is one of my favourite, and I enjoy practicing it every morning. Now I am training towards V-sit, but I tend to lean backward trying to lift my legs as high as possible. Do you have any tips on how to overcome this? Specifically, what palms position (fingers front or back) do you prefer?
Hey Al, thanks for quality content again! What’s your opinion on the argument, that bodyweight (for example bridging) is not enough for lower back and you need some weighted exercises like Deadlift or RDL? I’m really a fan of bodyweight training, but the only weighted exercise I do is Barbell RDL for the reason I’ve mentioned. Or is there any bodyweight equivalent? Was thinking of Glute Ham Raises/Nordic Curls, but I guess it’s not the same for the lower back as RDL...? What do others think? Thx!!
I wish I could do this exercise. My kyphosis and poor shoulder mobility does not allow it and there is nothing I can do. Luckily I can still do pullups...
Al, loved this video and great advice! I have a problem that you could hopefully help me with. When I do a full bridge, my right knee fills with a lot of pressure, like it's about to pop, but it never does; this causes me a lot of discomfort and I'm unable to get a quality bridge set. Any advice?
General advice for "this hurts what do" is to seek modifications that reduce the difficulty or just change the angles in a way that reduces the pain, then gradually build up the volume and intensity. Don't do too much, and don't take much time completely off.
Is there a progression between the full bridge and wall walking? I can do a lot of reps of the bridge. In CC, Paul Wade suggests walking backwards down a wall but I can't even manage a single rep! Would bridging with a weighted vest work?
It's been known to happen on a good day, but it's definitely on the fringes of my skill set. If you search around enough you might be able to find a video of me doing one. :)
I can't stop watching your videos!
ok love it. I will figure out how to get volume later, but this is great thanks.
Golden advice as always!
Thank you for posting more content to RUclips in this time of need
Thanks AL!!! Loving that you are making videos again.
Great to see you again so often Al! Enjoy the time with the family!
Great tips, thanks!
thx for the video!!!

Good to hear from you pal!
Thanks great advice 🎉
Hey Al! Good to have you back on. Can you please talk about elbow pain during pulling movements, thx.
Great progressions 🙂😎🔥 Bro.. the dumbbell pullover is also a great exercise for the bridge
Excellent accompaniment to your 'pushing the limits' book!
Just found this excellent comment! I can get my head off the ground now so your tutorial is working!
Very nice work bro😎

Anyone disliking this man, can kiss my ass. He’s dope and helpful. That’s bro

I've notice when I do full bridges, the first two reps are always terrible until my body loosens up. By rep 4 or 5 I'm good.
Yeah that's pretty common. It usually takes me a couple sets to ease into it as well.

Can you feel the contraction in your hamstrings? If not, try some reverse planks.

@@GeorgeLocke Exactly!
Hey Al make a video interview with Grace and Danny
Hi Al, do you think i can learn difficult skills like human flag, back lever, etc with doing only pull ups?

Can you do a stand-to-stand bridge?
