George Mason's character arc is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, one that 24 ever had. If anyone could upload the scene from season 2 episode 10 (5 pm - 6 pm) where George and Michelle talk about the importance of finding happiness in one's life, I would greatly appreciate it. Although Mason acted like a jerk most of the time before he was exposed to the radiation, we find out that there's an underlying reason for all of this. His imminent death makes him realize that he has missed out on a lot in life because of his solely financially motivated career moves. We don't know if he's been grappling with these issues privately before his exposure, but it seems more likely that he's tried to repress them to avoid dealing with the truth- and in the process, he loses touch with his humanity and even though he's ultimately a good guy, he's a complicated guy and many of his co-workers can't stand him. Often times in our lives, our most crucial revelations come during life-altering moments- some good, some bad. In this case, George's revelation seemed to be triggered by his coming to terms with his impending death. Realizing he has only hours to live, George takes stock of what really matters in life: he can finally see that money cannot buy happiness and people are the precious commodities he's never valued. His sacrifice is brave, noble and destined because he saves so many people and gives them the opportunity to continue to love their families, value their friends, and balance work and personal life in a way that he never could. A lot of the advice Mason gives seems simple and even a little cliched but the brilliance of it is that it these words seem easy to live by BUT AT THE SAME TIME, we almost never live by them. We distract ourselves by feeling sorry for ourselves, get bogged down spiritually and emotionally by our debt, petty details about relationships, and matters that will likely have no bearing on our lives 5 years from now. We compromise, we give up on our dreams and we get enveloped by the background noise that Mason alludes to in the quote below. If Mason's sacrifice and ultimate self revelation end up teaching us anything, it should be that we're all put here for a purpose. We all might not save millions of people like Mason did, but even if we can save one soul, renew one person's hope in humanity or be the reason someone smiles every day, we've done a pretty good job. That background noise may always be lurking, or your insecurities may start tempting you to focus more on yourself than on others, but if you stay conscious every day of staying ahead of these things, you may end up living your life the way Mason wishes he would have lived his all along. George Mason: I don't know. You happy in this job, hmm? Believe it or not, I used to want to be a teacher. A long time ago. You know why I didn't? DOD offered me more money. That's how I made my decision. So I made myself miserable. And I made everybody else around me miserable. For an extra five thousand dollars a year. That was my price. Michelle Dessler: I'm sorry. George Mason: You know, Michelle, I'm not a big advice giver, but under the circumstances... don't wait around for your life to happen to you. Find something that makes you happy, and do it. Because everything else is all just background noise.
The whole Kim subplot pisses me off. The wife literally gives Kim the keys and says get Megan out of there and the whole time it makes it looks like she kidnapped her lol like the wife literally told her to take her away
Wow 24 is so short when you cut out the no jack subplots. Except you missed the best Kim-centric subplot of the series. 6:00pm-7:00pm Kim got trapped in the woods by a cougar. 7:00pm-8:00pm As Kim ran through the woods, she trapped her foot in an animal trap. Match that breaking bad!
Additional sidenote, guy who played george mason - xander berkley, was credited on an extra feature on the season 9 bluray, had a speaking role, maybe playing a new character for a potential 10th season, no spoilers.
The actor who played saed Ali played the voice of transformers auto bot character mirage or Dino the red fast car vehicle in transformers dark of the moon.

Yes. Sorry to see him leave the show. But he really played his role to the very last second. What a heroic way to go.
At least he died as a hero and not a coward… and he amended his relationship with his son before he died. He’s the greatest in my book.
Best show of all time
It's been a while since I watched 24. Awesome idea with thos recaps, IGN. Really awesome. Keep it coming.
Jigsaw was behind it all!!!
Still my overall favorite season!!!!! 🇺🇸❤️💯🔥👏
Come on guys! Get a different name than Syed Ali. That is my name.
haaaaa lol

😅😅😅😅
The whole Kim subplot pisses me off. The wife literally gives Kim the keys and says get Megan out of there and the whole time it makes it looks like she kidnapped her lol like the wife literally told her to take her away
Love this bit,Marie needs to be in this clip
Fact or Fiction, George Mason died a hero for sure. If I were dying, I like to imagine I would ditch a Nuke to save millions of live's.
i wanna see a 15 min recap of the whole series please before Live Another Day premieres
Can't wait for live another day! Gonna be epic
This season was second best best was 5th
Completely agree
just completed this season, how about seasons 3 & 4 ?
You guys are wrong. Kim was essencial to the story. 24 would be nothing without the cougar scene.
Lol
"Let's play a game, Jack." Jigsaw voice
Jigsaw was always problematic lol!
Wow 24 is so short when you cut out the no jack subplots. Except you missed the best Kim-centric subplot of the series. 6:00pm-7:00pm
Kim got trapped in the woods by a cougar. 7:00pm-8:00pm
As Kim ran through the woods, she trapped her foot in an animal trap.
Match that breaking bad!
Where she then meets Drama from Entourage.
Dont forget about Johnny Drama :D
The Kim filler stories were torture to watch ... just rewatched this in 2021
yes the Kim baur side story is tolerable in the first season but her exploits in this season are completely annoying
she's like a royalty, as in, she can't be dropped because she's the daughter of Jack
RUN SHERRYYYY!!!
2:52 - Game over!

He also got killed by a Terminator.
OMG Solid Snake (BigBoss)
The guy who played Saed Ali, and the little girl of the abusive father, are both actually dead in real life, it was a shock to me
thebossman222 What happened to them? what are their names?
The actor who played saed Ali played the voice of transformers auto bot character mirage or Dino the red fast car vehicle in transformers dark of the moon.
Season 2 was great. I wanted the presidents wife gone though, she was such a sh!t disturber.
U will get ur wish in season 3
TheBlazingFury I know, seen all the Seasons. I did not feel bad when she was "gotten rid of" lol.

season two wasn't very good imo. I mean, it was good up until the bomb went off. Then it just felt really slow
the best season
Don't these people ever sleep?
@@alec4522 I'm guessing they do that in the commercial breaks. It's easy to not sleep for 24 hours
@@jackbauer4762 that was my theory!

Kim was unnecessary in s2.
She was unnecessary even in s1. At least they got rid of Teri.
@@sparkzmentalz2 Teri would have had her whole story in season 2
Turtles Like I.
