Much Love to Greece, we Miss visiting 🇺🇸❣️🇬🇷🛳️

Aegean, Ionian and the whole HELLENIC Sea water has already the blood from our dead heroes, since Persian wars to 1821 Revolution, and WW2..Yes Greek navy and air force stuff is the best
You should see this elegant ferry boat entering Kavala΄s port at 7-8 gail force using the same technique! Just amazing!!! Hats off , captain Diamantis!!!

Because of Greek flag in a grrek port there was only the captain without pilot (passenger ships and commercial ships under 100 meters )

とても凄い高等操船技術・・。ターンしてトモ着けする前から、最初にアンカーを打ち込むところもミソですね。

H οξυδέρκεια όλου του πληρώματος καθώς και η δεξιοτεχνία είναι εκείνα που μας κάνουν να ξεχωρίσουμε από τον όχλο.
Απ ότι λένε οι καπετάνιοι που κάνουν τη γραμμή με Σάμος και Ρόδος, σε εκείνο το σημείο έχει μεγάλο βαθμό δυσκολίας. Μεγάλα καράβια μονοτιμονα, έχουν το δικαίωμα να ζητήσουν να φύγει το άλλο πλοίο από κει. Μερικές φορές ο καιρός δεν βοηθάει να πραγματοποιηθεί εκεί πέρα. Καλές θάλασσες...
He’s probably got a bow thruster to help push that bow to port. Check out a video of the carferry S.S. Badger out of Ludington Michigan docking. She is a coal fired steam ship and has to make a turn like this with her anchor and 2 main engines without the help of tug boats or thrusters every time she docks!

If you look at the video: at 1:15 he's putting a twist on the ship - port screw is backing - mud is being pushed forward along the hull - while the starboard screw is going forward and the rudder is over to port, sucking the stern of the ship to starboard. At 0:33 there's a big splash by the port bow that looks to me like an anchor being dropped to give them something to pivot on, and/or to check the forward motion of the vessel - or they may have just lowered it to drag on the bottom to slow them up a bit, and to have half-way out Just In Case. At 2:20 you can begin to see some evidence of a bow thruster pushing the bow to port. And near the end of the video (4:50) we see that anchor coming back up into the hawsepipe as she gets underway again. So, nice job of mooring Mediterranean-style. Seems like they've done this a time or two, d'ya think? :-)

This is an extremely difficult ship maneuver, using the propellers, and rudder hardover, while you drop the anchor to hold the bow, and do a relative zero radius turn. Only a handful of captains can execute that Masterpiece in tight ports, and this Greek Captain Diamantis Papageorgiou is one of them.
