Awesome! Ready for Mount Washington! I've mentioned to you about driving a Vermont Transit motor coach up Mt Philo. I've also done the Mount Washington hill climb, not with the 4-wheeler, but the bicycle.event.
Car is looking so rad. Glad you made this update video. What's the best email to contact you with? I have something that you mentioned you might want that would fit the car well.
Did you retain the droplinks from the struts to the swaybar up front? You car looks to be have very well sorted suspension. I'm trying to make my Evo 1 handle the best it can before adding power. I've got Evo 2/3 front lower control arms and front swaybar, and as many ralliart bushes as I've been able to source atm.
Those things will all help out a lot. I've spent years working on this ass you can probably tell. Good question on the drop links. What I did on the first stage (E2/3 knuckles) was to weld a swaybar link tab to the bottom of the strut housing. I took the strut out of the threaded housing first so the heat wouldn't affect it. That was for the Tein Super Racing setup. When I moved to evo 5/6 front suspension that changed again. The control arms now had the swaybar link mount so the link went from the bar, down to the arm instead of up to the strut. That allowed me to make no changes to the RSSP coilovers. If I did it all over I'd have custom coilovers built to suit the 2/3 spindles but I'm still happy with the result. Evo 5/6 basically everywhere on the front end including the steering rack
I'm surprised by the number of Later Evo parts used in the car. Are there many compatible parts between the early Evos and the 456789s? It's nice to see the car slowly go back to a stock look, and now is the time to sell an early, so your plan seems to be working out. You got any future early Evo plans after selling this one?
This will never look like a true group a car unfortunately but it will regain the factory look more and more I think. To fit modern tires the fenders will always be what they are for example. The part compatibility really depends on what you're considering compatible. Anything can be made to fit, Even Norris in the UK fit a later drivetrain in one including the engine. The suspension had to be updated and short of something custom there wasn't much available for an early Evo a long time ago. Now, a company like MCA could make a custom set. The advantages of the later hubs are really great- bolt in wheel bearings for example, thicker knuckles, quicker rack.. 5 lug for modern wheels. I just bought an Evo II RS that I'll be prepping for resale. It's completely stock. Once that's sold, who knows! Thanks for the comment :)
@@race-partners Good point with the compatibility, nowadays it seems anything can be fabbed up to work. I think I know of the II RS you are talking about and I actually tried to make a deal with him before it went on BAT. These early Evos are hard to get now, I've been bidding on the japan auctions for 3 months now and the right one still hasn't come. I'm looking forward to the for sale post on that II (and the Pajero evolution haha.)
@@zadekharbat The Paj could be for sale anytime. I just want to find the right person. I'd been looking for a long time with my friend Craig for a clean Evo and they just aren't out there, like you said. Ratty ones sell for 20k in Japan now
@@evozero905 From a Vauxhall but it looks like Saturn and some GM cars are the same. You can get the whole kit on eBay. There's a UK seller that has a small assist controller
That is a great question. A long time ago my friend Bill and I figured it out. I've since forgotten but I was able to find this from someone who emailed me a long time ago : (assumes an 8000rpm limit and probably 15" gravel tires) 1st: 54mph 2nd: 74mph 3rd: 93mph 4th: 116mph 5th: 137mph
Been waiting for this video for a couple years!
Cage looks awesome. Love the Stack tach.

It's definitely ready. I might make a revision to the cooling system but that would be it.

Hello, you mention possibly selling someday. I have purchased a basket case EVO 2 and would have an interest in yours as mine isn’t so great. Thanks
that's right however this isn't a street car
@@race-partners I understand that, I'm an ex scca SM racer. we have a local track here in Ohio that has open days monthly.
@@gregoryzydyk1974 apologies mam it sounded like you wanted a street car for some reason. of you want to discuss on email grabau@ gmail
16:10 hey Al, what is the gold heat shielding on the valve cover? what what is the orange heat shielding called on the lines called?
The gold is just some gold foil tape to reflect heat. DEI sells it. The Aeroquip sleeve is silicone fire sleeve.

Curious about what your using for the thermostat housings
Hey Angelo, it's an inline Meziere brand we welded the housing into the lower radiator pipe
