Yet another, great video. To quote the previous comment “superb presentation.” I appreciate the lack of music in the apartments, giving a better sense of what it is like to be there in person, both in terms of the athletics, and the time required to visit. On the one hand, the length of the video (adequate in my opinion to attempt to capture the essence of the palace), “almost” makes it unnecessary to see the palace, yet on the other hand, makes you want to see it in person at the same time. I also appreciate the history, both in the beginning, and by you, throughout the palace. Despite the heavy foot traffic, it seems like it would be a shame to visit Paris and not visit Versailles.
Alain, it was far more enjoyable watching your video of Versailles, than any of the times I have actually gone there... 👍 Has the new reserving time slots helped with the massive packed crowds?
Do you by any chance have a video about websites were foreigners can buy/book tickets to various places of interest to avoid queues? Are those huge queues only for tickets or for entering as well? Are there tickets/passes like “all included” for a day or few? Are there “all included” tickets for public transport? Thank you! We are visiting next week😅😅😅
No, I've not done this video yet. These lines were long because I went there on the first Sunday of a winter month, when the entrance is free🙂 You should check the Paris Pass: it might be the solution for you, but I don't know enough yet about that. For transport, check my videos about that subject, navigo weekly pass should be your solution.
These are very easy to find, just near the palace, in the gardens, close to the Bassin du Midi. On Google Maps, check for "ASTEL - Les petits véhicules électriques du château de Versailles"
Hard to fathom over 10K people occupied there and over 2300 rooms. I can only imagine how cold rooms must have been during the winter. Even with modern heating it must take thousands of BTU's to heat it. The rooms must leak air to the outside with those windows like a sieve. Surely they took a carriage ride to near where they had to go (room) rather than walk.
Can you image how many sawyers were required to cut the trees to stoke up the fireplaces, or better yet how many cattle, sheep, & hogs were required to feed the entire household?

Superb presentation. This is the best overview I’ve seen. The Galerie de Glaces is spectacular from the garden in the evening. 10 out of 10!
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent!
Thanks

I swear, spell check 🤦🏻♂. That should have said “aesthetics”, not athletics.
If you go early in the morning, you can be back for the afternoon in Paris...
@@paristoptips That’s probably what we will do!
💖💖💖💖 Palace of Versailles 💝💝💝💝
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for your video, it is very detailed, I understand a lot more before visiting it soon.
@@samma3710 You're welcome! Glad if it can help you have a nice discovery of Versailles.
Thank you for this video. It helps my family to prepare for the sights of the palace. We will visiting Versailles in over a week.
Glad I can help you!
So thorough. Thank you. I've been and don't think I'll go back again.
Thank you 🙏
It's great to have been able to visit once. And there are so many other places to discover in Paris...
Great video. I can't wait to be there in about 4.5 weeks. Beyond excited.
Hope you have a great experience!

You can visit the Chapel and Opera guided tour.
Yes, absolutely, with a guided tour
Love your video ❤
Thanks 🙏
Merci!
Avec plaisir !
Great video visiting in August, question, where's the entrance for passport timed entrance? It's overwhelming
For those with time-stamped tickets there will be signs with the ticket time written on them: that's where you will have to wait.
Dazzling place. I went there once but was unable to enter due to, shock surprise, a strike.
Strike? What's a strike? We never have strikes in France! 😂
I'm sorry for you. This is part of a cultural discovery of France! 😄
@@paristoptips It looks like I will get another chance to see the palace when I visit this fall.

Can u please mention where can u get a buggy or train to see the gardens

They were stronger at that time... but they also died younger!
@@paristoptips They also dressed differently I believe with heavier clothing. I can't imagine how many candles they needed. Lots of them for sure.

hi, how long to spend in Versailles?thanks
At least half a day. More if you also want to visit the Trianon.
I am not able to find audio ticket option for versilles tickets. Please advice where to it is?

Can you share how we can download free audio guide app to the phone?
It's on the mobile app: en.chateauversailles.fr/discover/resources/palace-versailles-application

Yes, you can. The pass is 65€: en.chateauversailles.fr/subscribers

R.I.P French Royalists. ➕✝️💐⛪⚜️⚜️⚜️
They had their time...
That poor kid in the video. He's like, "I don't care, when are we going to Disneyland??"
True! Yet, even kids can enjoy Versailles...
Have a Instagram account?
Yes, but I don't use it.
I don't like the Republic! 😠😡👎❌
The French are republicans and proud to be that!
Rubbish!!
