Great! I had learned that Hebrew used a dual. So, I was wondering for the two pomegranates if it would be more likely to be a plural or a dual ending on the noun? When I checked BibleWorks, I didn't see anywhere where two pomegranates were mentioned in the Bible. I planted a few pomegranate seeds; two came up and now have a double bush. I can't decide if I should call it rimonayim or rimonim.

Hi Jean! In the Hebrew Bible text, the dual form is mostly used for body parts that come in pairs, units of time (two days, two years, etc), and big numbers (two hundred, two thousand, etc.) For everyday countable objects and people, it's more common to get the number "two" with the normal plural form of the noun. The form rimonayim doesn't occur in the text, but I don't think it would be incorrect to use it as a name. It would be kind of parallel to Jacob naming the place "מַחֲנַיִם" 'two camps' in Gen. 32:3.

Great video! Btw, what pronunciation do you use, Modern or Reconstructed Biblical? I can't distinguish since I don't have any knowledge of Hebrew.

It's basically a Sephardic pronunciation, common for readings of the Torah: not too different from Modern Hebrew, but with a few more historical features. It's not a reconstructed ancient pronunciation, which would sound super different than Modern Hebrew.

I don't even know what half the fruits are in English lol. Could you please explain?

I think what you're seeing is the plural form of "figs" (תְּאֵנִים). The word for "half" (חֲצִי) doesn't appear until Lesson 84.

I also struggle a little with pomegranates and figs since I've never seen those in real life.
