Absolutely true. The new testament says that sin is transgression of the Law. It says that loving God IS keeping his Commandments. And, anyone who says, "I love God," but does not keep his Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. Paul told Timothy that the Scriptures he had from his youth were the instructions in righteousness. From his youth he had the Torah and the prophets. I hope you get a million likes... I'm #85, c'mon everybody!
For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. Hebrews 7:12 is a NEW covenant. By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear (8:13) Jesus the mediator of a NEW covenant (12:24) NOT RENOVATED BUT TOTALLY NEW AND DIFFERENT
If you re-read Jeremiah 31 carefully, you'll find that what's new about the "new" covenant is the internalization of the Torah, not its replacement. It's "new" in the same way that God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:21-23).
@@CarmenJoyImesPhD Hebrews says that there are other new things: new high priest, from the tribe of Judah and not from the tribe of Levi, better promises, change of priesthood, change of law, change of the mediator of the law. Everything is new and different, the Sabbath is not a commandment in the law of Christ, simply because it is a sign between God and the children of Israel, NOT WITH THE CHRISTIANS
@@tarjeibjerkedalene John is talking about the law of Christ, not the law of Sinai, like Paul.. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 1Corinthians 9:20-21
Appreciate you! Shabbat shalom!

I like the word "renew", coz God has not change His plan, but are willing to work with us. Like clay in the potters hands.

@@CarmenJoyImesPhD The law of the Sinai covenant IS NOT ETERNAL.. IT WAS ADDED UNTIL CHRIST CAME. Galatians 3:19
@@josafatpraise One place in the bible that I think talks about old and new law is 1. John 2:7-8. The concept of renew seem to fit well.
